I am extremely disappointed with the unprofessional experience I've had with this dental office--on *two separate occasions*. A few months ago, I scheduled my first appointment to establish care, have a check-up, and get a cleaning. When I arrived, I was told they couldn't see me for some reason (which I don't even recall now), so I politely left and rescheduled. Fast forward to today, October 23, 2025. I arrived early--at 4:05 p.m. for my 4:15 p.m. appointment--and wasn't called back until 4:45 p.m. During that 40-minute wait, I asked one of the staff members, who identified himself as a doctor and the son of one of the dentists, for a toothbrush and floss since I came straight from work and hadn't had a chance to brush my teeth. I asked *three separate times*, and he finally told me they didn't have any. You're a **dental office**--how on earth do you not have basic dental supplies for your patients? When I was finally taken to the back, I was informed that the person assisting me had to leave by 5:00 p.m. and that I'd have to choose between a cleaning *or* the check-up and X-rays. Fifteen minutes to do either one--and then I'd have to schedule yet another appointment to finish what should've been done today. This is absolutely unacceptable. It's clear this office has serious time management issues and poor customer service. I felt completely rushed and disregarded. After taking time off work *twice*--and using sick time, no less--I walked out having received no actual care either time. I expect my **$50 reservation fee to be refunded immediately**, or I will dispute the charge with my credit card company as fraud. This practice needs to learn how to manage appointments properly, respect patients' time, and stock basic dental hygiene supplies. It's embarrassing that a dental office can't even offer a toothbrush or floss. I will not be returning after this experience, and I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for care. read more

Going to the dentist is never a 'good time' and can be quite stress-inducing (according to people who have terrible dentists). I, however, don't have that problem because my dentist is Dr. Nick! Although his office is very slow to respond in the beginning, he is the absolute best dentist I've come across in years. Words that come to mind are kind, humorous, very easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and accomdating. (Side note: After one or two visits Dr. Nick responded to my messages and was very quick to get back to me. I felt like the office was very busy and their response times are much slower. All good though, the most important thing is that I was able to actually get the work done.) I like that he works out of two offices which makes it very convenient depending on where you're located. For me, I'm a Westside girl and prefer to have visits nearby but! With that said, I gladly drove to the Valley initially to have him assess my tooth that was in desperate need of repair. The first visit he didn't do any work, it was more of a consult but he gave me a temporary option to take away the pain until I found out if I needed a root canal. He wasn't sure if one was needed and had to refer me out. Turned out that I didn't need a root canal so I scheduled another appointment and was delighted that he was able to see me in the Century City office (much closer to where I live). He was super accomodating being that I work until 6 pm during the week and made an appointment for me at 6:30 (so nice!). I went in after work, got a mold made for my tooth, chose the color that would match the rest of my teeth and was on my way. Two and a half weeks later, I went back in, got my crown put on and viola! I can smile again! CHEEEEEEESE! :-D One more important thing to note: He accepts Care Credit (always a plus) although I would have preferred deferred financing for a year, at the very least it was deferred for six months which was helpful. Overall a great experience, I definitely recommend Dr. Nick especially if you're a fraidy cat of going to the dentist. read more

Dr. Nick is aaammmazing! my whole family has seen him! Our three year old enjoyed her cleaning and was never afraid as he made it exciting and adventurous for her. Plus the dental hygienist assistant had little fun moments with her. I appreciated his referral for my root canal since it was a special kind that needed to happen. The doctor is very sincere about what's needed and how you can space everything out. We choose him due to reviews and the fact that he was 5 min away from us in Sherman Oaks. I picked him for his great reviews and because he was a part of my insurance, I assigned him as my pcp dentist and went in for a cleaning. He told me I needed a deep clean. I'd had one a couple years ago but he said I needed it so I agreed. He said he could do it that day. The x-rays were painless and with his reviews I decided to just get it done. It was definitely more painful than my last deep clean but what really upset me is that according to my insurance, he grossly overcharged me for what I was supposed to pay (with the insurance I have). I could get reimbursed from my insurance but I need him to write the codes for services performed to submit the claim. But he will not respond. Normally they get paid by insurance but I didn't know any better and paid what he told me to. My insurance said my co-pay should have been (from what I told them the services that were performed) in the ballpark of $400. He charged me $850. While making me think he was giving me a discount because of my insurance. My insurance says with receipts and the codes I could submit a claim myself and get the difference. He will won't respond to any emails or return any of my phone messages. He charged me over double of what my co-pay was supposed to be. My insurance suspects he won't get back to me since he's already been paid. He seemed so nice and trustworthy but its been over two months with no response? Also the first time I made an appointment, I went to the office and no one was there. I called, no answer. Never an apology or a callback to explain, I gave them another chance anyway and then this. I came in to see Dr. Nic with an emergency front tooth that fell out. I'm an actress and I was terrified because my face and smile are part of how I make a living. Dr. Nic made a tooth for me that fit perfectly, you can't even tell that it isn't real. He took the time to make sure it fit correctly and was the right size and color. And on top of it, it has lasted and stayed strong for a year no problem whatsoever! He also checks in while he's working and makes sure you're not in pain and that you are ok. I called to get some information as I wanted to have this office assigned to me through my insurance. After reading the Yelp reviews, I saw they are only open 2 days a week in the Sherman Oaks office. I was concerned that it would be difficult to get an appointment as a new patient but was offered something only a week out. So far, so good. But imagine my surprise when I was told that I had to pay a $100. deposit just to make the appointment!! Wait...WHAT?? In all my years of booking appointments and going to the dentist, I have NEVER been asked to pay to make an appointment. The gentleman on the phone explained that as long as my insurance covered my services, the money would be refunded to me. Who does this?? I know my insurance will cover, so I'd basically be on the hook in waiting for a refund from them and who knows how long that would take! And in the meantime, paying interest on a credit card while waiting for the refund... NOT OK, and a very odd practice... Nevertheless, I choose to decline the appointment... read more

I had high hopes with all these great reviews but I came to my appointment today and no one was there. I don't want to ruin his nice reviews, I didn't actually have any service so I can't comment on his actual service but, I had to get coverage for watching my mom to be able to go and there was no text or message of any kind that they for whatever reason would need to close today. I was told by a neighboring office person that someone else was also there earlier for an appointment but left because no one was there. I would avoid going to this place!!! My insurance provider told me I could go to this dentist I even called and let them know what insurance I had. Instead the Dr is really only conserved with money told me he wouldn't bill my insistence and charge me the full price. Told me my insurance company lies and they never get approved for anything. Ethical and kind! Far too many dentists in LA are pushing "Deep Cleanings" when they aren't necessary, but not here. Sadly, because there's minimal profit in preventative care some offices are pushing expensive, unnecessary treatments--I've reviewed several such practices here on Yelp. I used Groupon to give Dr N a try because my last dentist, who is great, no longer accepts my insurance. I was impressed and happy with my exam, cleaning & fillings. Dr N's pricing is fair and upfront. He prints your treatment plan to review. Lots of us dread & fear the dentist because sometimes dental work hurts--but we shouldn't fear the dentist because we can't trust them. You CAN TRUST Dr N! Unfortunately, I've been "gum shamed" by so-called hygienists/sales assistants who told me if I don't ante up a few thousand for their cleanings I'm inviting infections, heart disease & more! My sister and I came In for teeth whitening With Dr. Nick, we were a little nervous because we heard teeth whitening can be painful but let me tell you, this was the BEST EXPERIENCE we've ever had at a Dental office. We walked into a clean and professional office, the staff is friendly and attentative, Dr. Nick is great! He is Very knowledgeable and explains any questions you may have, and guess what? The teeth whitening process did not hurt at all and we experienced no sensitivity, it's been about 1 day and still no sensitivity, and the results are amazing, my teeth are pearl white! The 5 stars are completely accurate. The office is very clean and nice. Everybody at the front desk is super helpful. Dr. Nik gave me a deep cleaning (yay). Expect long wait times. Expect to be there for 1.5 hours for a procedure that should take 30 min. They like to take on 25 clients a day when they know they know they can handle 10. It's just a matter of respect. Also, they don't do regular cleanings as mentioned in a previous review. They will only up sell you to a deep cleaning involving lasers. They are only open 2 days a week in Sherman Oaks. Can't recommend, and won't be back. Good luck. Maybe your mileage may vary. read more

Dr Nafisi is super friendly. I hate it when a dentist doesn't give you a heads up and you feel the stress of not knowing what is going to happen. This was not that at all. Super easy getting a filling replaced. I wasn't worried or in pain, the Doctor let me know what he was about to do and what to expect and he was very efficient I was in and out and he made it super relaxed. The office always has a vacation video playing with music to distract you...and remind you it's time for a vacation. And the doctor has a friendly vibe and love for his job. I called around to a few places and looked on line at the reviews, and not only did Dr. Nik have the best reviews...his office staff was STELLAR! When I went in for my first meeting Dr. Nik was there waiting for me! He greeted me and we went for our consultation. He let me know all the things he thought he could help me with and let me choose which ones were most imporatant to me. We set a time for a deep cleaning and I returned the following week. I had dental insurance through my work , and LA Dental Experts was accepting my insurance. I had my scaling and root planing deep cleaning completed here and i also got my dental crown done here. The cleaning was very gentle and thorough, and my teeth feel like a million bucks. my dental crown looks very natural and similar to my other teeth and i cannot see any difference. i had my teeth whitened at my cleaning appointment because i wanted whiter teeth. Made an appointment last week and came in a little early and the staff was very friendly. Dr Nik was very informative and easy on the hands. Unlike most dentist that I've had here in La. My teeth feel amazing. I got a cleaning and X-rays of my teeth. He made sure to explain every detail which is by far important. Printed me out an estate of what I need. Super reasonable! The place was extremely clean. All the equipment was super updated including the X-ray machine which I'm glad they don't have the horrible old-school film you have to bite down on that hurts the gums. But his was super updated and didn't hurt to get my X-rays done. Super duper satisfied and would most definitely recommend him to everyone I know and everyone in general.
