My friend was craving seafood so we opted for this place. ENTRY This place is located inside a gated hotel community, but you can just mention that you want to visit the restaurant. They have parking on a hilled area and you can walk to the restaurant from there. We personally got a cart ride from a nice hotel staff. So I really appreciated that. WAIT You sign up for a table (whether it's inside or outside seating). They put your name on a waiting list. And they text you when the table is ready. Although we came at peak dining hours, I personally didn't feel that the wait for a outdoor table was bad. SERVICE Our server was good. She did check up on us despite having to serve many tables. The wait times for the food can be quite long, so keep that in mind. Don't come here if you are on a time crunch or come super hungry. Be prepared to enjoy the music, ambience, sea breeze and wait. MUSIC The day we arrived, there was a live band playing, which was nice to keep the island vibes. However, we were seated right next to the band that had really loud percussion sounds that it was really hard to hear each other speak and gave my friend a slight headache. So, maybe request a further table if you do get seated really close to them. FOOD My friends and I decided to share the appetizer, AHI TUNA WONTON. The crunch of the chips, the softness of the raw tuna and the sauce meshed well together. It was delicious that we ate it so fast. I personally got the ARROZ CON MARISCOS aka Seafood Rice. I opted for tostones on the side. This is seasoned orange rice with various seafoods inside. There is just a decent amount of seafood inside. It can be quite filling because of the rice. So I think it was worth it compared to the other dishes. But it wasn't super impressive. Overall, the food was okay. The music was super loud. The wait times was quite long. This place is beautifully situated near the water with beautiful outdoor seating. The service was good and most everyone could speak enough English to communicate with us. Food was no good at all. First night had lobster and it was cut up and put back in shell. No flavor just salty. Looked like they cut up lobster and just throw it into a shell. Loved the waterfront dining views of the boats. Located in Safe Harbor and you will need to let the security guards know you are entering to eat at the restaurant. Everyone was so friendly throughout the property! The restaurant had both indoor and outdoor dining along with outdoor bar seating. We had their fish tacos and they were crispy and juicy. The steak was cooked perfectly on the Mofongo. The freshness of the ceviche was a great additional to the flavor profiles we had going on. Overdue Review: Came here a month ago with my family. We'd been here before multiple times. We've always had a nice experience: good food and good service. This time was no different. Our server was attentive and professional. I usually order the fish tacos or the stuffed mofongo, but this time I decided to try the fish sandwich. It was delicious. Of the several Cueva Del Mar's, I think this is the best one. It's by the water, so you can overlook the Marina as you you eat or drink at the bar. We came late in the afternoon. It was nice and breezy and didn't rain. Perfect for sitting outside. They make a good bushwacker. I ordered two fish tacos and two shrimp tacos. They were excellent. I preferred the fish tacos because they were crunchier on the outside. I'm not a big fan of fish sandwiches but the one my husband got was very good. I love this place, the servers are very nice. My husband always gets Mofongo with lobster and ajo sauce. I usually go for their churrasco. I also tried a special that was a half aguacate stuffed with salmorejo (stewed crab), delicious. The pina coladas are on point. I DEFINITELY recommend this place! Brunch, lunch or dinner - this place is beautiful. Right on the most popular harbor of the island, the sight of the ocean and the boats, beautiful. The vibes and ambient is all there. This place is not TOO expensive and just about average for a higher casual dining. The drinks are delicious and average price, the food is where it's a bit costly BUT delicious. It would've been 5 stars BUT service was very slow and the food came out at different intervals.. . I still gave them a 4 stars because the establishment, drinks and the waiter were nice and friendly! I am an old fashioned guy and it is very hard to find places that make them good. It was "ok" here and honestly the only place I had an old fashion. The rest of the drinks were made well. Not sure if it's only the whiskey options. I did hate that the bathroom is outside and not adequately availability due to how big the place. Would I come back? Yes. This was an absolute terrible experience. We were seated and the waitress was inattentive. She took drink and after 30 minutes she brought back 1/2 the drinks. When asked about the other 1/2 it was another 30 minutes because she didn't put them all in. After 45 minutes she came to get the order. She brought wrong and no appetizers and after 1.5 hours when we were ready to leave after getting attacked by mosquitoes when we told her to cancel the food her response was fine and walked off. Conveniently 2 seconds later a "manager" comes over and claims our food is ready. We asked them to bag it up. Food was missing, one order was a surf and turf there was no turf and thrown together surf for $65 dollars. There was a hamburger with tomatoes which the requested clearly expressed no tomato's and that they were allergic. The only thing that was great was the fried whole snapper (we order two) one clearly had the wrong sides the other had no sides. Several guest came and went in the time we were there. The outdoor seating was ideal as it overlooked the marina, and we had the chance to spot four adorable cats sleeping in different locations on this patio. Unfortunately, this place failed to meet my expectations. We were told that the food here would be amazing and it was mediocre at best. My food was delivered cold and I told them about it and they just went and heated it up in the microwave. I had ordered the surf and turf with shrimp and I noticed it was the same plate because I had removed one of the tails off the shrimp and I left the tail on the plate and it was still there so I knew that's what they did. They took over 20 minutes to ask us for drinks. Another 45 or so to bring out our food. I wouldn't recommend this place to any one at all. What a waste of money and it's pricy. read more

A dear couple friend highly recommended this restaurant to celebrate a belated wedding anniversary. Called several times never reaching anyone. Showed up to ask for table availability for 3 people at 6:30 pm. Not many people around. Seated immediately and advised that kitchen was short staffed. Usually 5-6 cooks and only 3 tonight. Ordered appetizers drinks and after round two of drinks we placed the food order - nothing complicated a whole snapper which they let you select by bringing to the table since is market price. It must of been 7:30 by then. We had not seen each other for over a year so our conversation ensued and before we realized another hour had gone by and we had not received our food! We asked the server and she explained that due to how short staffed they were our order was yet to be processed. There were no courtesy in making drinks available at happy hour price (that it had ended at7 pm) nor offers of another appetizers- just the attitude- we told you out front the was a delay in our kitchen. Food finally came out at 9:15 pm!! Nothing special! Fish was deep fried and lacked seasoning. The Mofongo I ordered was very tasty but the food was not piping hot as I would have expected since it would have been "just made" according to our waitress.
