I don't know why this isn't in travel guides; this flamenco was superb and not as expensive as several others. We reserved two tickets which came with one drink each... but you are welcome to order more once you've finished. They do have tickets that come with food, but we opted out of that as we had dinner reservations elsewhere. The performance happens in the cave downstairs. There are two seating areas; one is stage right and one is stage front. We were seated stage front. In our area, the cave is a long hallway with a bar opposite the stage and tables lined along the walls. Also on the walls is art made by one of the servers, available for purchase. The servers were great. The performers were excellent The music reverberates and truly envelopes you. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and I bet you will too. I cannot claim to be artistically or intellectually sophisticated to know a good flamenco show from a bad one, but I fully appreciated the talent of the four artists on stage. From the audience feedback of the other 25 people, they did too. The individual talent of the guitar player, singer and male and female dancers was quite impressive. Their collective work was pure chemistry. Although I did not understand the Spanish lyrics of the song, I understood the language of the story through their interwoven artistry. We only had drinks and complimentary olives but the wait servers were attentive. The first drink was included in the ticket price. Lastly, the subterranean showroom and stage is excellent for your acoustical and visual senses. All in all, I never felt the experience to be at all a tourist trap or inauthentic. I highly recommend the hour and a half cultural exposure of this show at this venue. read more

Wonderful live flamenco surprise in Madrid! After visiting Sevilla and enjoying three outstanding pure flamenco shows I was wondering if Madrid would offer something similar. The €20 ticket includes one drink but you may also purchase €35 ticket that includes dinner. The performance happens in the basement on a small stage in a intimate setting. One may reserve a table in advance when purchasing the ticket. Last night was an amazing show with four artists: guitarist, singer (cantaor) and female and male dancers. The artists were inspired by a respectful and attentive audience and dazzled everyone with beautiful interpretation of flamenco. The singer made everyone feel very comfortable and explained in Spanish/English about the origins of each dance being performed. Not to be missed during a trip to Madrid! read more
