I visited La Saint George's pre-pandemic while on a business trip to Rennes. I totally enjoyed myself and my meal. The atmosphere was classy for a crepe joint, but probably only average classy ... by French standards. La Saint George was busy on my visit and seemed like a place the locals visited frequently. The cuisine & menu is all about the crepes. The restaurant had French and English menus. My party of 2 Americans and 1 Canadian went for some crepes that were cheeseburger themed. There were cute names for all the crepes. We ordered some cider to go with our meal which was dry and delicious. We had salted caramel dessert crepes that were perfect. The service was exceptional, and the price and value received more than fair. I totally recommend La Saint George and would be happy to eat here again. Bon appetite.

Four pieces of magret de canard topped with foie gras and a bit of caramelized apple. It was around 17€ and the most expensive thing on the menu. But it was well worth it. I couldn't believe I had four pieces of magret de canard in addition to foie gras. It was like I'd died and gone to heaven. It took me forever to eat because I couldn't stop "Mmmmm" ing and "ooooooh yummmmmm" ing. If you are looking to splurge, this is what you should get. The previous reviewer complained of dry, cold galettes. I didn't have the same experience at all. For dessert, I ordered a speculoos ice cream and Nutella crêpe. It came with a piece of hazelnut chocolate with a flag of Brittany sticking out of it (nice touch!). I loved the speculoos ice cream, but the Nutella crêpe was not particularly noteworthy. Or maybe my expectations were just too high after my galette. Don't come here unless you want something unusual. This was a perfect last crêperie for my time in France.

Galettes are buckwheat crêpes, a signature dish of French Brittany. Using a variety of fresh, high-quality ingredients, Claude quickly and artfully prepared three galettes simultaneously, before my wondering eyes. He expertly ladled, spread, flipped, topped, and folded three galettes all with different fillings. The traditional ham, Emmental cheese, and fried egg is probably the most popular. I savored every bite of my very large and perfect galette with its crispy edges. Chase yours with a glass of cidre made from local apples. No, it's not apple cider. Speaking of apples, my dessert was a luscious apple crêpe with real whipped cream. Great food, generous portions, fair prices, attractive surroundings, attentive service, and Claude's personal touch. They told us that they actually haven't finished the parking lot but it will be out back. For the moment you can park in the grass or at the lake. ***EXPERIENCE*** Great experience! The prices were very low since we were not at all in a major city, and galettes and crêpes are often affordable. The staff was friendly and even spent a long time talking with us when checking out. They told us the restaurant had been open since 2017, I believe. They are only open on the weekends though and have recently seemed to update the place. It was dark when we went, but they seem to have nice outdoor seating in the day, and even at night they had nice lights all around. All of their products are local and you really do taste the difference! ***PRICE*** I can't remember the exact prices, but we ordered a bottle of cider for the table and I was shocked by how affordable it was. The galettes range from around 5-13 euros depending on what you get inside. I got the vegetarian one with emmental, egg, broccoli and mushrooms. It was very filling, I couldn't finish it all. I think it was around 12 euros. The dessert crêpes range from 2-6 euros. You can get plain with butter and sugar or more gourmand ones with chocolate, fruit and whipped cream. For lunch I saw that they have a deal for an appetizer and dish or dish and dessert for 13 euros! ***FOOD*** The food was amazing! Again, they only use local ingredients and you can tell by the flavor. The cider was one of the best ciders I have ever tried and it was from the region!
