6 stars. The best, freshest, home made fine cuisine you'll find in Courseulle sur Mer…read more The menu is very restricted (3 choices for main dishes, 2 local catches and one meat) as they use only fresh local products. The cook will go to the port in the morning to get his fresh fish. The menu can change on a daily basis. It's a small place that can accommodate probably 16 guests maximum. Nothing special about the place itself, it's located on the ground floor of an apartment building. Make sure you book (they ain't opened every day) a table because it's always full. You'll get complimentary charcuterie plate after ordering your food. Dishes are all amazing, well worked, prepared. The sauces are perfectly seasoned, tasty and light. All products are fresh. I cannot specifically comment on the dishes I had as they change regularly but... I can highlight 2 plates: - Blood sausage (boudin noir) starter, served on a sizzling salt block (see my photo) was superb. The use of sisho and pan sauteed veggies highlighted the sausage perfectly. - Cod: perfectly cooked with a light foamy cream sauce and local veggies. The aroma of the sauce blended with the fish was succulent. Deserts are so delicate, fine, light, tasty and the presentation is fantastic! 1 starter and 1 entree OR entree + desert for about US$32. Full set (starter, entree and desert) for US$ 37. It was so great that I went there 2 evening in a row to try pretty much everything on their menu! Highly recommended.

It was tough as leather. My husbands cod was only ok. To top it off, we were relegated to the front of the building without heat! I won't ever be back to this place and if you're American, and don't speak French, you should choose another place!!

Hubs had the seafood soup with his meal which he loved. I had the Cesar salad that was drenched in way too much dressing but still not terrible. The apricot chicken had a weird texture and not much flavour. I had the peppercorn beef-medium. It was blue rare and very tough, and the peppercorn sauce didn't have any flavour either. The desert was quite good though! All in all an experience to say the least. I hope in the future- being that Juno Beach is a huge part of Canadian history and attracts many English speaking Canadians- they get an English version of their menu to help with the language barrier. We were able to make it through but I know if that was my mom she would have just not ordered anything lol. I was impressed with the effort of the young male server though! But we do understand not every where has English versions of menus but this was the first restaurant we visited without one or without at least one server that spoke a bit of English.
