This is one of the best breakfast places on the island. I've been visiting Cozumel for many years and have eaten everywhere. The service was good. I ordered the green juice that was too watery and sweat not sure why .. I chosed banana- strawberry crepes with Nutella . I got with very little slide bananas no strawberries, but lot of sweat jam inside and no Nutella either. So much about the healthy vegan food. The two women working when we visited were incredibly rude and unwilling to help us. Felt a lot of attitude when we were asking what was inside different pastries. The pastries themselves were cheap and not bad, but wouldn't return. Perhaps COVID has changed things since earlier reviews seem to be great. read more

I went here almost every evening we were in Cozumel to stock up on delicious pastries to eat the next morning before diving. It is a good thing I don't live this close to a bakery at home or I would eat pastries every day! La Cozumeleña is heaven for those with a sweet tooth. You walk in and pick up one of the trays and tongs and pick out what you want, put it on the tray, and pay for it. The prices are so insanely low. The first time we went, we got 3 drinks, and 4 pastries for less than $9. The pastries are not labeled but that is part of the fun. Make sure to try whatever the pastries are that are in jelly roll form and the filling changes from day to day. Their cinnamon rolls are good too. read more

Cute little bakery near our hotel. We found it on our way to Los Sera's. The pastries are not labelled so you kind of have to guess or ask, if you speak some Spanish. The ladies were kind enough to let us know what was inside some of the pastries, but most of them we guessed. We got three items which costs alittle over $3 USD, which was nothing. We got a custardy pie thing, a pastry that looked like an elephant ear, and a puff pastry looking roll. All three pastries were a little stale unfortunately. Good flavors, but maybe not enough sugar. The custard especially, could have used more sugar, it was more like a pudding than anything. It is nice to support local business, the ladies there were nice and smiley. a Stay 3/20 - 3/26 -- Stayed with friend - last minute trip -- checked in (no one told us about restaurants options, snorkeling, etc. We did not have map of property nor information on amenities... were not told hours etc of bars restaurants ).. They wanted to "upgrade" us to suite (we ordered ocean view) -- the difference between "ocean" view and "garden" view is that the garden view is on the first level (all rooms face Caribbean sea). We went to room (old part of buildings -- very dated bedding look 20 years old), there were only 2 or three outlets for electronics, and room smelled musty/mildew (badly) requested another room, in newer building area. The nice person at front desk showed and moved us to a more acceptable room. The offer (in their website) free wi-fi (which predominately only worked when really close to lobby area) - NO business center (only two standing-use desktops in corner of lobby). A gym (I work out - weights/cardio daily - gym important). The Gym consisted of stair stepper, treadmill and another broken cardio pieces as well as four barbells (weighing less than a pound lol), and one barbell probably 8 lbs... (oh well swimming, pushups, squats, dips..). Hot tubs were colder than pool (no use there) --- They have a hamburger area (to eat) and one supposedly upscale restaurant, and one Buffet (Breakfast, lunch, dinner) we found out two days prior to departure from Cozemel that we actually could order off a menu (Breakfast and Lunch) at the buffet diner. The fancy (coveted diner) serves (according to the head waiter) 150 people a night (requires dress code, and reservations) - which only could be made day-of. We ate there one time -- we were half into the seating (appx 75 served) - they ran out of clothe napkins and gave us a cocktail napkin holder with a bunch of tiny napkins (now if you knew you served 150 a night -- why would you not have 160 or so napkins??). We had some supposedly Italian dish with shrimp (3 shrimp, curly noodles and Campbells tomato soup -- ick) needless to say did not eat there again. Drinks? Well they had no oranges, lemons or maraschino cherries (plenty of limes!)- two kinds of wine (white and red), two beer (dos equis light/dark) basically untrained bar tenders, and bars available until 10:30 or 11:00 -- no music at night, no activities - parties (which is OK I guess) -- the staff were all nice and accommodating (owner needs to update, upgrade -- I would guess to say the owner of this property is cashing out all net proceeds for his/herself -- and is wishing their business little future (they need to compete or will fall behind - already have)... You get what you pay for -- But my wishes are that they will address their issues - upgrade and their staff will have jobs. The views were amazing -- great location - read more

The place may looked closed but walk to the side door. It is open every day. What appears to a closed front door might be to another part of it. We bought what looked like a hostess ding dong and it tasted like one too. It was good but nothing amazing. It hit the spot. read more

There is a bit of confusion in the reviews because there are two different places at this location. The bakery and the restaurant. The bakery is a nice bakery. I'm reviewing the restaurant. We've eaten here 3 different times at different times of the day. The food is ok but definitely a bit odd and definitely not very mexican. It's mostly health(y) food and lacking in flavor. My complaint though is really the atmosphere. The staff seems incredibly unhappy or stressed. I'm guessing it's the owner (though I'm not sure) who seems to sit in the restaurant all the time and there is an oppressive feel about the whole dynamic with the staff. Each meal we had there was no "friendliness" to be found which is very unusual for a restaurant in mexico. This review is from experiences in the summer of both 2018 and 2019. read more

Best bakery in Cozumel! After trying postres at a few places this is our favorite. The bakery is next door to the restaurant which serves breakfast. The pastries aren't marked and the person who works there doesn't speak English, so we just had to guess and try a few out. We got an assortment to share and all were wonderful. The one thing that was familiar was a palmier which was crisp sweet layers shattering with every bite. Another had a pastry layer around a coconut filling with dry fruit-an interesting mix of flavors unlike any we have had before. The third pastry was rolled dough with a crackly sugar crust and a sweet soft layer in the middle-simple and homey. Can't wait to try breakfast! read more
