These people are horrible, they literally stole my dogs after harassing me and taking my camper. Not everyone who lives out of their RV/camper is on drugs, selling drugs, etc. I work almost every single day, and on days that I don't work am very active at my church! Why punish someone for trying to make their life better? They took everything I owned, and for what?!! To prove what point? I am kind, I pay taxes and I don't bother anyone! The week they towed my camper my arm had just been broken so I paid for an airbnb and my wife was in charge of checking on and feeding the dogs, she doesn't know how to drive with the rig attached. The neighbor across the street would've vouched for me, but none of the officers even attempted to inquire if they knew me or of me. Last night I went to the store to pick up something for my dog just as I left the store to make a left turn my car stop in the middle of Stockwell and Wilmington my car axle broke making a left-hand turn and I was stranded in the middle of the intersection and two beautiful Compton Sheriff came along Officer Robert, and Sergeant Morris. I think that's his name. I'm sorry if I didn't pronounce your name right they try to push my car out of the intersection, but it didn't work so they called me a tow truck to help me And they stood there with me until the tow truck came and picked up me and my car brought me to my home. I just wanna say thank you Sergeant Morris and thank you Officer Johnson. I truly truly truly appreciate you. Just bought a truck few days ago, yes tags were out 11/2018, but it was parked. Why are you guys driving around looking for cars to tow. This is big business I feel like the cops are being paid a cut to find nice looking cars to tow for these tow companies. My husband tried to explain we just bought it and the paperwork was in the vehicle, but he towed it anyway. Compton has the worse sheriff. Police stations make the list of places I don't necessarily want to spend my afternoon visiting. But there have been moments in my life where the trip to the local PD becomes inevitable. Such was the case when my rear license plate was STOLEN! I mean who steals license plates anymore?! Well, I'll tell you who, anyone who is hard-up for a quick 20 bucks because apparently that's the street value of DMV tags nowadays. This incident motivated my visit to the local Compton Sheriff Station. The lobby was empty and the service was quick. The watch commander kiiiiind of didn't want to write an incident report because I live in limbo and he couldn't figure out the jurisdiction, but I sort of played the "ugh, please don't make me drive alllll the way to Watts card just because I live a foot away from the county line" . He was nice enough to oblige. The service was quick, easy, and painless. However, now I know that an incident report doesn't free me of having to pay 20 bucks for a new set of license plates. I mean if I would of known that I would've told the thief that stole my license plate to stop what he/she was doing and I would've pulled 20 bucks from my pocket so that he/she would save me the trouble of running around like a chicken with my head cutoff trying to sort the mess out. read more

These are a group of people who truly care for their community. It's not easy to put the lives of others before your own, but these individuals put on their armor daily for their community. I'll forever be thankful for their selflessness and their sense of duty. It's a darn shame many had negative experiences with various members at this station. Perhaps it's possible they caught them at their worst. We're all susceptible to sin. It would be good to show grace, understanding, and to give someone a benefit of a doubt. Anyways, I came in the other day to report an event. In all honesty, I came waaaaay too late. Regardless of how late the event was reported, the officers showed genuine concern and put in the time to really advise me as to what I should do and what should be done the next time it's to happen again. Watch commander Leos is one of the many insensitive cops that collects a check at the Compton's Sheriff's department. So, I get pulled over and the first thing officer Geir said very loud, unprofessional, and insensitive was Do you know why I pulled you over... and of course I'm oblivious to why he's pulled me over. So, my answer was No, officer. And admittedly ass hole cop came out! No hello ma'am nothing just rudeness... you were speeding. I then said well, Hello to you too... next was license and registration. I passed my License and he immediately start writing me a ticket. Never once told me how fast I was going or the speed limit zone. (Come to find out he wrote the ticket saying it was a 35 zone and in realitily the zone was 40 and the ticket was for 46mph.... ) So, basically he was on the job but not doing the job... issuing tickets for the wrong speed and pulling people over with an attitude. I was soooo disgusted with his mannerism and the initial contact I called to file a complaint. I felt like the situation could of been a little more warm and not so cold and intimidating especially since I'm and young female in the car alone doing everything I was asked to do at 10:00am. After, calling the Compton Sheriff department speaking to Leos, I realized that was one of the worst decisions I made in a long time... Not only was he just as rude as office Geir he just wouldn't give me a chance to speak.. Leos told me the officers are trained not to greet or be pleasant.. I was like OMG did he just say that... after that i just got off the phone I couldn't take any more... No one likes to be at the police station. If your car gets broken into at night, just know that you should file the report sooner rather than later. The officers you see behind the windows are actually on desk duty and won't be the ones assisting you whilst filing a report. The ones that will assist you are in the field and have to be called to come to the station. That may take up to an hour after you arrive. So, with that, keep your valuables with you. Even if they are out of sight, thrives will look in every nook and cranny to find them. Good group of officers, hopefully I won't be back unless my stolen goods pop up somewhere. read more

My girlfriend called to report sexual assault that took place in Compton last night. It was my girlfriend's co-worker that sexually assaulted her while she was driving. While we were on the phone with the Compton police department after the fact, the operator kept asking my girlfriend questions to make it seem like she was lying and that it's not a big deal. She refused to dispatch an officer to make a report even after we asked several times. She just acted really insensitive toward the situation and made us feel bad for even calling. My apologies to the officers of the Compton Police Station as this review is a long overdue (I searched and now found my notes) but some months ago my car was stolen from the parking lot of the (now named) Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center (aka Long Beach VA Medical Center) and after about a month I was notified by phone by Officer Buenuelos that my car was found. Reclaiming a stolen car was new to me but I had the good fortune to have been in contact with Officers Buenuelos, Sanchez, Dang, and Taylor that helped me during that somewhat stressful process, and helped me in understanding and following the instructions of the Compton Police Department, which in turn helped me understand and discuss the detailed steps with my insurance company. From the very beginning they were very professional, cooperative, and helpful in explaining what I needed to do, and when-- where my car was towed after it was found; when I could claim my car after it was released from the Property & Evidence Dept.; who their contact/s were at the VA Police Dept; what police and towing company form/s I will be needing; and Officer Sanchez returning my calls with information I asked for. The day I was finally given the go ahead to go to the Compton Police Station to claim my car there was a slight delay, something about a final authorization between the Compton Police and the VA Police, but I remember Office Taylor at the police station counter stayed in touch with them until he got the go ahead to give me the final forms I needed to present to the towing service that was storing my car. I have many years of sales and customer service experience so I recognize and appreciate professional customer service due to training and/or the nature of the person, and because of the help of these officers, everything went smoothly and a difficult situation was made tolerable. So I got a ticket for losing my tag on my license and so I got it corrected it and went straight to the sheriffs office so I can get it signed off so I pay $20 instead of $75 . As you walk in to the office and stand at the window you see like 10 women sitting there on their computers . About two or 3 looked at me and they looked away and kept about their business . Literally was there for 20 minutes waiting for someone to help me . So as I'm standing there I call them and they pick up the phone and they let me know no on at the front desk can help me with that because there was no one there . Imagine that they answer the phone and talk to me as I'm standing there in the front . How pathetic is Compton with their hiring process . No wonder our city as all behind Torrance / Carson and Gardena . Compton is a damn joke with their staff . So they send me to the city hall to get it taken care of. The lady says "oh no sir u have to go to the main building" I got there and they tell me to go back to city hall lmaooo ! Called to ask about something that had happened at a property that I own and am renting out and the officer that answered (sanchez I believe) kept trying to cut me off mid sentence to tell me that he couldn't tell me why they were paying a visit to my tenants because there's no way for him to know I am the actual landlord over the phone which I understand so I told him that I would go in with proof and asked what I needed to do because I don't need any problematic tenants that are going to have cops going to look for them on my property and he pretty much was just being a dick and trying to hang up and tell me that it probably wasn't even his department. I live in Compton, in a gated community, and a car was parked inside and the alarm went off. It continued for an hour and then stopped and started again. I called the police department using the regular number, they picked up on the first ring. The female officer was very patient and helpful to me. I didn't have all the information she could have used, however, they said they would send someone out. I am on a walker so I had not gone out to do nothing about it. A few minutes later, it stopped. I am assuming that they came and did something to help. Then it started again. I am assuming that it will eventually be fixed or stopped. I was born and raised in Compton, and very proud of it. I try and try to give this place a chance every time I need to go to the sheriff station I usually go somewhere else where the staff are so douchie. Once again they have failed me as the community station. This is the worst station with the most rude people. I went in today because I got a fix it ticket for having my license plate on my windshield instead of the front bumper and needed a signature to mail in my $10 dollar fee. I went in and told myself to have patience as always. There is only two people , me and another older gentleman trying to get there attention on the front window. This one girl cop turns around and doesn't even acknowledge that we've been standing there for the past 15 min. The gentleman was before me so he goes up to the window and is to ask a question and she immediately shuts him off and tells him it's gonna be another 15 min he's gonna have to wait. She goes to the back and she's laughing and giggling with the other two woman behind the desk and a man cop who's dancing flirting with them. All I want was to ask if they can sign it, if not so I won't waist there time nor mine...but I had to wait an hour in order for the girl cop (Hispanic) to tell me with an attitude that this is not taken care of there and that they do not deal with this....horrible service. The Compton sheriff department is a joke. What a bunch of G.E.D only officers. I've seen JROTC kids with more of a clue than these idiots. I was involved in a car accident and so I called the police because the driver that hit me was drunk and I needed a police report. The dispatcher told me she would send someone my way, 15 minutes go by and no one shows up. I called again only to be asked "do you know who you spoke with" Apparently the 1st dispatcher I talked with never put it out that I need help. The 2nd dispatcher told me there's no record of me calling the police and that I have to give her all my information again. So I tried telling her what happened and where the accident is, but she could not be any more slower. It took almost 5 minutes just before she can fully understand where my location was. Talking to her was like talking to mentally handicapped person. Lots of "uhhs" and "ohs". No sense of urgency. I actually felt like I was bothering them by calling them. Is it that hard to recruit some decent officers? Granted, the officer that arrived at the scene was helpful, but really? The two dispatchers I talked too One not sending my call through and the other one having the literacy skills of a 5 year old. It's ridiculous, they couldn't do their jobs if someone's life depended on it, literally. I hope their captain reads this review and talks it over very slowly with them so they can understand just how stupid they are. Go back and play foot security for some gated community. I was very disappointed with the experience I had at the Compton Sheriff's station today. Their customer service sucks. I was the only one waiting in the lobby for about an hour. Well along with the gnats that kept attacking me. Only one officer asked if I was being helped and after I told him no he proceeded to walk out of the lobby. No surprise there! The whole time I was standing there waiting, there was an officer along with a couple of clerical staff just standing around talking and having a good ol' time on County/Company time. You pull up to this police station and there's no parking anywhere, not because their lot is full but because their is no lot or street that you can park on. Then you walk in and there is no one at the counter, all you see is 1 phone with a sign that says call for questions.....what do you mean call, I'm here in person, at a police station!!!! You can see cops through the glass window yet they refuse to even acknowledge you or come to see what's wrong. Finally pick up the phone, explain what has happened (hit-and-run), only to have the operator tell me that, that is the CHP jurisdiction. Are you kidding me!!!!! Then they say you have to call them and fill out a report, yet the crime in question happened 5 minutes from here in their City, Compton... No surprise. So now I have to call another police agency to come to this pathetic police agency and to fill out a report! Way to spend valuable tax payer dollars. Now I'm spending my Friday night waiting till God knows how long until a CHP officer gets here. Thanks a lot Compton Sherif police Station you guys are the real MVP's. Way to turn an already terrible, terrible experience into an even worse experience.
