My window was broken by neighborhood kids. The parent was unapologetic --- even telling me that I had a very bad attitude (Wouldn't you be upset if your window was broken?) I live in a gated community with open parking and I see these kids running around. More than once I've had to step on my car breaks because same kids would appear out of nowhere running like crazy. So I talk to these officers and honestly was made to feel like a was in the wrong...that kids could run and play wherever they want. I DON'T THINK THIS IS SOUND ADVISE especially for safety of everyone (including children) I went to my HOA and they were more proactive in handling this matter. i'm sorry because I'm grateful for the police and everything they represent, but it was a horrible waiting time and people that came after me were seen by the sheriffs before me and I just had to leave NOT a pleasant experience. They did eventually come to this residence, and again I'm not gonna complain but they said within an hour and we're looking at three hours later! but I'm ETERNALLY grateful for the sheriffs and everybody at the sheriff station for everything they do. I'm just saying it was it was very disappointing the lack of results to try to go to the sheriff station and get somebody to take a report is just -it's a career move! and it was not pleasant but in the long run THEY saved my /"our lives " and they don't even know me! so I'm grateful for that. and honor them immensely and the police officers that came to the house was so pleasant and so understanding really was easy to forget how long I had to sit in that sheriff station because they do fight the fight! they engaging dangerous situations for somebody they don't even know who does that. After a driver hits my car at Del Amo near Figueroa. Some alleged officer shows up. I speaking as loudly as I can b/c AO wont let me come on the side walk; I'm speaking over noise of traffic passing pass behind me & overhead was 110 fwy. After I explain to him what happened he tells me " Do you want to call CHP, this is their handle,they will take along time & probably wont take a report." But this AO#1 has a CHP badage! I told him I need to call my parents since the Camry I was driving was registered under parents. I'm in my car talking to my parents b/c I didn't want to speak to my parents with noise of traffic passing pass me & overhead . I'm in my car for 45 seconds, AO starts swaying his flashlight back & forth saying 'hurry uuuuup you are taking too long' . To compromise I got out my car but was still on the phone speaking with my parents in Armenian. AO#1 is continues swaying flashlight saying 'hurry uuuuup you are taking too long, you're wasting my time.' No one called AO! He said he was 'in the area saw what happened',but he 'didn't have jurisdiction'. AO #1 was being very passive aggressive. But the other driver has called their entire family, they showed up parked their cars on the street. 5 of them were swarming around my car, it took 5 of them to take a picture? OR was it because the other driver & their family are Latino like the AO's. It's an understatement to say the Latino AO's were bias. AO's treat the Latino driver like she is made out of glass. I gave my info to AO#1 I try to get on the sidewalk but hear comes AO#2 blocking me from getting on the sidewalk with the other drivers info. I gave my insurance card, but the other driver's insurance was hand written by AO#2. It looked like he was practising his letters, other driver's insurance info was illegible. AO#2 saying "why you so mad", I told him "...I didn't think you can hear me over traffic" #2 says "whatever" just as passive aggressively as AO#1. AO's didn't care what I have to say bc I'm not Latino. AO's start playing crowd control telling the other driver's entire family to back away from my car, they've taken enough pictures " ..yeah we seen situation like this get out control." Why did you let them come in the 1st place?! I need to go up on Del Amo & make a left on Hamilton Ave. But the other driver went the same direction! I dont' want them to think I'm following them. I DON'T WANT THESE PEOPLE TO FOLLOW ME. I'm worried about my safety. These AO's have already showed them preferential treatment. Out of concern for my own safety. I decide I'll wait for these other ppl to leave, That idea back fired; AO#1 is driving closer to my bumper with his siren lights flashing & over the loud speaker he says 'driver leave,you have been instructed to leave.' I'm screaming in my car "I DON'T WANT THESE OTHER PPL TO FOLLOW ME! GO TELL THEM TO LEAVE, THERE'S MORE OF THEM." I'm so loud these other ppl ten feet away can hear everything I'm saying. I recently gave Carson sheriff station a call to see if I can have a sheriff come down to my old place of residence while I get a few things out of my house (I don't live there anymore). While doing this calling the line, I received a passive aggressive attitude from the lady on the other end. It was very frustrating because I just had a very traumatic event happened you'd figure if you're calling a sheriff station it's to get some help. Once I was actually able to let her know what was going on she was unable to provide a time at when they could be there. This was very unfortunate because I was still receiving the same attitude. Once a sheriff did come to my place of old residency. I asked if he could follow me as I went inside to make sure nothing happened as I walked ahead of him I turned around and he was still standing out front in the yard. I then went back to ask if he could follow me once more and he responded with " has something happened already?!", I looked at him confused, and I replied with " no and I wanna make sure nothing does happen. That's why I called for a sheriff." After that he did follow he did keep company, but his attitude and his whole presence was just unnecessary and rude. It was as if he had better things to do. This to me was just confusing. A part of your job is to help the people that need help. It doesn't matter big or small. Towards the end, I had a friend helping me pack some things up. While heading out they had said thank you and the sheriff just looked at her and didn't say anything back. There was no reason for any of that attitude. It was really unpleasant and kind of sad given everything that I was going through and the reason why I was there it doesn't hurt to spread a little bit of kindness and if you don't like your job, hey man, don't work there. read more

I was driving down the road a couple years ago and 2 officers pulled me over. Told me that i had to do a mandatory weekend vacation in their hotel. I'm thinking great, these guys are freaking timeshare sellers... They invited me to the back of their car and they were kind enough to escort me in an emergency vehicle all while they take care of my car with a tow service. VIP treatment right there We get to the hotel and first of all, the waiting lobby takes FOREVER. I guess it means this is a very in demand hotel. I finally get to the room and little did I know, it was basically a hostel being shared with other people. I didn't mind it too much I mean they were cool people but a big downside is that there was only 1 toilet. Not only that but the view is terrible. There's a tiny window in the room but it seems like only a 7-foot giant was able to see out of. As far as activities go. There's literally nothing to do. I spent the whole weekend just going to sleep and thinking about when they're finally going to pitch their timeshare sales. Food was ok, nothing too bad considering it's the same food i had when i went to school. That damn cartoon cow on the milk carton brought back memories. There's just no menu. Its just whatever fine entree they gave you, which forced a couple of trades with other visitors. Finally, the day came where we all go to a field trip to downtown LA county hotel. And trust me, carson looks more like the damn Marriott compared to county. Good thing we didn't stay there for long because then we visited the court. After i see the judge, who I'm assuming is the one who pitches the sale of timeshares. Has the audacity to tell me i still owe them money! I thought you just had to attend the timeshare meeting and buying things were just optional! I figured I'd pay it, just to get this over with. I would've at least gave them 2 stars but because of me having to pay, i had to give them 1. Definitely don't recommend. No one has ever gave me my timeshare package yet... worst vacation ever read more

While my call was answered by an attentive receptionist, The officers that arrived to solve a problem seemed quite disrespectful and uninterested. I called about a constant and borderline SEVERE noise complaint. A deluded couple argues right outside of my townhouse every other day, without fail, about the smallest things. I know about this because they happen to argue right in front of my house. So when I was redirected from the Torrance police station to call this office (because I live closer to Carson), I explain my situation with as much detail and appreciation. The female receptionist was once again receptive to what I needed to have looked at and talked me through our conversation. She told me the officers would arrive shortly, and I was able to meet them outside to explain the situation. The couple had just left about five minutes before, so I was unable to show them visually. I wish I had seen their badge numbers and names, but I wasn't able to catch that. The first officer on the scene says with his brows furrowed, "what's going on." His tone was almost derogatory. I started to explain the situation to him before a second officer arrived on the scene. He seemed more inclined to help, but also told me in a flat tone that "we can't do anything" since I had not witnessed any physical fighting. I understand that the issue is more of a civil matter, but the arguing has been so constant and heated to the point where they wake me up and disturb the entire complex. He then asked for my name and number, probably to insure that if I were to call again, to take it even LESS seriously. He even said that they can probably try talking to them which would have been perfectly fine, but the officers decided to see the issue as not worth their time. Well, they must be soooo busy if they had arrived on the scene in seven minutes with two squad cars, right? read more

I got my car towed for parking in a legal spot in a residential neighborhood for a Galaxy game (no signs saying, "Permit required" or "Tow away zone"). So step one, apparently, is to go to the Sheriff's office and pay them $200 cash. Oh, but wait ... it's not over. They give you a paper with the towing company's phone number. They told me to call before I go, and that's it. Didn't mention it would be another $219.00 on top of the $200 in cash I gave to the Sheriff's office (for some unknown reason). They also said nothing about the place being closed so I had to drive back to Orange County thanks to my mother-in-law at 1am and come back the next day to get my car. Seriously, there needs to be some regulation of this industry. Seems they can charge whatever they want for whatever they want! Finally, my 8 year old son and I were waiting for 90 minutes at 11:00 at night on the corner of Avalon for our ride to arrive. It would have been nice if at least one of the 50 or so Sheriff's cars that passed had stopped and asked us if we were all right or needed any help. read more

I have lost complete faith in Carson sheriff dept. My very sick friend had 2 restraining orders on his landlord and his wife and they violated the restraining orders 40 plus times and they came out 40 plus times but never arrested them. What a disgrace of a dept. Now my friend is dead because of actions not taken and to make it even worse now they wont let his daughter get his personnel belongings with out a police escort and only when the restraining order violators say. What is going on with this Dept. They need a refresh course on how to do their job and maybe how to read and a refresher on what a restraining order is . It is a order not for them to discuss anything. Its already been determined by the judge and to be reinforced to the t. These Police officers hard to call them that considering . They don't read or they read what they want to. Just a disgrace. THE WORST OF ALL WORST. THE POLICE DEPUTIES HERE ARE LIARS AND CORRUPTED. Not even a star should be here. I reported my car stolen last Feb. 2 at around 7pm. They found it after 30 minutes but never informed me and I got a letter of pending lien sale of my car from Carson City Towing instead after three weeks. I called and they said there is nothing they can do about it because a different deputy found the car illegally parked on a different address- not far from the house. They also said that the stolen report wasn't on their system. I went to get the release form and the deputy woman who gave it to me told me that the car was actually towed first in the morning before I reported it in the afternoon and that's the reason why they don't have it on their system. She showed me a document that says it's the first report and that the recovery report which stated that the car was found 7:30pm was a third report. I asked her to make a copy of the document she showed me but she refused. I asked her why and all she said was it's because it's their copy. I went to the Carson City Towing afterward to get the car. I asked the lady who worked there if she can provide and show me a copy of any authorization document of my towed "stolen" vehicle, and she said it's all in my recovery report and she has the same copy as mine. I asked what time did they tow my car and she said it was around 7:30pm. I've been double crossed. Thanks a lot for taking away my respect and trust. Now all I see are deputies that are as little as ants every time I walked pass by this station. Also, I called the Carson City Towing many times. And I asked if I can pay using a credit card and the guy I talked to told me that it's cash only. If I didn't know the law, they would have screwed me up. But it is against the law for them to not accept credit cards or else they will be penalized under Vehicle Code 22658 Section (k)(3). I called the Police Station for this matter and thank God I was able to at least pay using my credit card in the end. But still, there's no going back to the old me after everything they did. read more

Here for work. But they didn't know that when I arrived... The front desk deputy was friendly and cordial. Though there was a couple ahead of me, he greeted me and told me he would be with me in a few minutes. As I was waiting, a family came in and one of them was crying. They seemed to have a more pressing issue than I did, so I told them they could go first. I watched as the deputy interacted with that family and he appeared to be taking copious notes (good for me, because I like thorough incident reports). When my turn came, he let me through the doors and got me in touch with who I needed. I've been to many, many stations and I've seen how curt and abrupt deputies and officers can get. But after seeing the efficiency and respect of this station, I was sold. Hats off to LA County Sheriffs at Carson Station. They serve the community with respect and dignity. :) read more

I haven't been in too many stations in Cali- however this one was the worst! The lady in the front desk is very alert and wanting to help and we very much appreciate her - but the 2 of the sheriff's and 1 of the jailer were very rude - The jailer's last name was Vargas - this chic Abuses her authority and is very disrespectful - attitude left and right just cause she works in law enforcement. The supervisor was very professional and listened to the complaint about the Jailer. I cant speak for the other officers cause I didnt interact with them.. Nonetheles, they need to respect people as we are all human beings - treating people like crap will not get you anywhere., I am not here to offend anyone but to say whats on my mind and warn people of the treatment we received. To end- i appreciate the lady that was there to help us and the supervisor that night. read more

Officer Ramirez (badge #8480?) should not have a weapon because he is not able to put his emotions to the side. He told me to "stop acting like a fucking child" and threatened to arrest me because I wanted to retrieve the information about where my towed car was headed to. Not only did he arrive on the scene and NOT de-escalate the situation, he arrived and made it worse. He lacks emotional intelligence and common sense. I fully hope he does not represent the men and women in uniform! Actually - I can confirm that he doesn't as SGT. Johnson was the saving grace of today's fiasco; he is the complete opposite of condescending and unprofessional Ramirez. Too bad SGT. Johnson is retiring. I think Officer's Ramirez's aggressive response to a non-violent situation shows how he will respond to something more serious and that is dangerous for the community of Carson and other cities he patrols. If he can't de-escalate a non violent situation, what makes him capable to de-escalate something more serious?! read more

They need to retrain their " sheriffs ". Received a ticket but the citing officer Martinez ( 618888) wanted to have an attitude and mean mug on his face soon as he hopped out of the car not even giving me a chance to speak and tried to insinuate I was lying to him. He was asking unnecessary information the whole entire time while I was calmly sitting in my car waiting to be given my ticket yet he still wanted to say things to provoke a reaction. Wonder if he talks to like this to other women he pulls over or if I'm the only one that has encountered this. This is shame for an officer to make a woman uncomfortable. read more

I had to call them to my house at 2AM because my autistic adult son started getting violent. They did just what I asked them, which was talk him down in a calm and friendly manner. They sent him to bed and told him not to talk to or come near me for the rest of the night. I was particularly grateful to Dep. Yakey for listening to me and understanding the situation, thus calming me down. In fact, I called in a commendation for him to the Watch Commander, Dep. Dinh, who was also very friendly and resasuring. I'm not an easy sell on cops. Four years ago, one sheriff almost shot my son. But they've been through some great training for situations like this and have improved dramatically. read more

I unfortunately needed to call again today and got put on hold and left there until I hung up and called back. Then when you do call back, they send you to someones voice mail. Very very disappointed. I went down to the Carson sheriffs station to follow up on a forgery report that I made back in July it is now December and still this issue has NOT been resolved. I guess people can steal money from you and not be prosecuted due to the lack of giving a damn by our lovely Carson sheriff department. I have been calling since July to follow up on my case of course I get sent to VM, I've NEVER received a return call after leaving MULTIPLE messages. I decided to go down to the station thinking that it would be different. The sheriff that was at the front desk was not helpful at all, he stated to pick up the phone on the counter and dial 0, request to speak to a detective. I did what I was informed to do and of course the rude receptionist who answered the phone did not let me finishing speaking before transferring me to a VM. This so RIDICULOUS and DISAPPOINTING. How in the world are you suppose to get help when they don't give a damn!! I bet if it happened to a friend, family member, or them they would give a damn. Thanks for NOTHING!!!! My issue began with a traffic stop. October 25, 2017 my daughter was stopped, saying that she rolled through a stop sign. At the time we were having some issues getting the registration completed. So they impounded her vehicle. We decided to let that vehicle go, and bought her another car the next day. Now, fast forward to July 2018, we have started getting tickets for the old car. I went to DMV and was told I need to prove we didn't have possession of the vehicle at the time of the tickets. First I called the Compton Sheriff Station, then called 5 Tow yards. Then called Compton Sheriff office again, and they told me to call Carson. I called the Carson Sheriff's station, and spoke to Kathleen, who advised me to come get a copy of the report for $25. To my surprise, about a half hour after we concluded our call, I got a call back from the Carson Sheriff's Department. They connected me with Kathleen again, and she told me that she did some research and found out which tow yard could give me the information that I needed, she gave me a phone number and a contact person to help remedy my situation. That was above and beyond anything that I expected or was required by Kathleen. I was very respectful, polite and calm when I explained my problem. I told her she could have hung up and moved to the next thing on her desk, and she told me that she felt bad for me and wanted to help. I so appreciate that. I want to say to everyone... Relax before you talk to people that you expect to help you. In my job I have to do some customer service duties, and I know that when the people are nice and calm. I am willing to go further to help them. I want to say, everyone I spoke to was very pleasant and helpful, but Kathleen was the name that I remembered. Wonderful Customer Service Skills! read more

I want to acknowledge Officer Deboom, Officer Alejandre and two others who played an integral part in professionally diffusing an otherwise volatile situation tonight. (I'm so sorry I didn't get your names but I know your faces). All of them were attentive, knowledgeable, patient, respectful and fair. Even though it was tense for a moment all of them remained calm and were able to control and handle the problem without any arrests. None of them were condescending or rude. All of us were able to just relax so the situation could be handled. I contemplated writing this review n didn't But since you emailed me here goes. I called to file a report on criminal destruction of property and was told I was over reacting not to mention animal cruelty and then told to call animal control to have the dog checked out. Animal control does not perform vet services but that speaks to office nagasaki's lack of education and customer service. Then when I called back to see if they were still coming the young girl laughed and said he should have been there by now. And said she would check. Needless to say no one arrives 20 minutes after that. The owner had left my dog down the street to get hit or dragged off by coyotes or other wildlife and then smeared dog shit all over the bedroom door and door handle and threw the tissue and other turds on the floor in front of the door. I videoed the whole thing but need a report on file that the destruction was caused by the owner or other roommate who has keyed and digital access to the property and done under surveillance of property cameras. No one would even listen. Went down there and was told to have a seat until someone could come out and speak with me. They were currently busy with fires, robberies and other priority type crimes and I understand. But a Latina women came for help and he did not speak Spanish and didn't know who to call for help. Really?? Guy came in still bandages from hospital and said he was told to come down and press charges on the guy that assaulted him. And he was told it may be a few hours. Prioritizing the front office should have been a priority to those In the office and not on the field. . I guess that explains why people take things into their own hands. read more

They are very fast to help every single time I have called. I always call the sheriff when things get out of control for example someone coming into my store yelling cuss words at my employees and scaring away customers and the person won't reason with me. Or when my tire got slashed and I knew exactly who it was. The officer that came to help was very professional and gave me lots of information and tips on how to handle the situation in the future. There was only once in which I got a black officer and I asked if he can ask the kid calling me names to leave me alone and leave the store and causing problems. His response to me was "well you're a public store your doors are always open so I mean he's going to come back there's nothing I can tell him". When all my customers heard what he said to me and my employees everyone thought it was because the kid I was asking to leave was black as well so he didn't want to tell him anything. I just let it go and hoped the teenager would get tired of yelling his lungs out sooner or later. Probably cost us thousands of dollars since he was scaring away customers. read more

I have to say the two times I've called about suspicious activity in my neighborhood they have responded and within a reasonable amount of time for a non emergency call. One time they got in time to stop the people and maybe I misread the situation so they were let go and drove off and all was fine. This time the people who were clearly arguing (after sitting in my neighborhood for an hour arguing I called on them, should have sooner) left maybe just a minute before the officer arrived. But both times the person I spoke to on the phone was so courteous and was very pleased with their response time. Thank you for all you do sheriffs! read more

Been a resident since 2007 and I realized as the years went by the police seem to not really care anymore, there have been several incidents in the neighborhood (me living near the South Bay Pavilion, Carson Mall) and I have called out to the sheriffs station and they would take my information and not once has a cop showed up. Burglary, Car theft, Homeless walking the streets late at night, teenagers who smoke weed, drink, and cause all kinds of disrespect to the adults and elderly, This city may look safe but it is only a matter of time, I think there are not enough police to patrol the area. So much stuff gets no attention which is way I would suggest that no matter where you live to get a licensed gun to protect yourself and your family, they don't care, take the law into your own hands, I think the only way you can get a cop out here is after the damage has been done. I am not giving up on the police in general just the police in Carson, California, thanks for ignoring law abiding, tax paying citizens. read more
