AT 80 I FOUND A TRUE LOVE - ITALIAN TRATTORIA IN EXISTANCE
IN DOWNTOWN MELBOURNE
I'm an old fussy Italian (Chef & diner) my children took me for my 80th birthday on December 10th at La Contadina. For those who don't know La Contadina, it means the farmer (farm country cooking). I have cooked Italian food for many years also during the war for many highly fussy government official diners back in Italy, but as far as I'm concerned for the last 20 years I've been sceptical and dislikeable to all restaurants. Don't trust ... because it all changed, however there are some good operating restaurants but most are heavily commercialised and that is so wrong. Food should be simple, fresh, well cooked with time passion & love. Well !!! Thank heaven that I'm in my late years I found this wonderful restaurant (la Contadina) ... and simply instead of me going through everything I ate that I so enjoyed, I rather just say how lucky we are to have found a true Italian trattoria. With true homemade ingredients with true affection, passion and love and the food was what I truly remember as a young man, and so, at my 80th I have truly experienced and enjoyed the day at la Contadina. I also like to thank the family and the chef for the wonderful old Italian songs they sang for me so beautifully thank you... thank you!!The Now fully satisfied and proud Italian Australian, of a wonderful country. (WONDERFULL RESTAURANT)
