I must admit…read morethat chain super markets have better fruits and vegetables than this little place will ever have, however, I go here for the MEAT! I had a hard time finding this meat market on Yelp. From the outside, the sign reads "Ziggy's Meat Market", but it's really called Normas????? This is a little hole in the wall market that is visited mostly by the locals. I have a Vallarta market around my house but choose to skip it as the meat is not as tender. Ziggy's is pretty dingy, the vegetable is probably week's old, you have to search to get a good avocado, but their meat department makes up for all the other essentials. Ziggy's makes their own Mexican Chorizo. It is one of the best I have tasted. Their salsa is not bad, and they have about 6 butchers helping out which makes the line move pretty fast, so do not be discouraged if you see a line coming out the door, you will be taken care of in no time. If you live in San Fernando/Sylmar area and are looking for a good bbq carniceria, this is the place to go. They also are Visa and MC patrons, this is always a plus for me!
