After being overseas for years I was on the hunt for a new hairdresser now that I'm back in Brisbane. I drive past La Chrome everyday so was stoked to see a voucher through one of the groupon-type sites for a cut and colour.
I had a dramatic colour change from blonde to dark brown and was thrilled at how perfect the stylist did this, so was only too happy to pay the $20 surcharge for my length.
The cut was off to a great start too, until hair too far back on the left side got mistaken for a front layer and got snipped about 20cm. I was so upset. Not having a lot of options, I suggested she trim up the other side a little and make the overall length shorter to try to hide it, but as far as first world problems go, it was a hair cut disaster. On the plus side, the girl was lovely, apologetic, and she otherwise had good cutting skills. I guess she just got distracted for a second.
The styling and product made it sort of look better and the colour was so dramatic that I had lots of lovely comments from people which distracted me for a few days, but from the next wash (and ever since) I'm so peeved about this 'shelf' of hair on the left that I have to part my hair differently, and curl the ends in an attempt to hide it.
Look, I know these things happen and I didn't want the girl to get in trouble because it was a simple stupid mistake, but I'm just mostly disappointed that I did give this feedback to LaChrome in their follow up survey, and then never heard back from them. I had hoped that might invite me back to try to correct it. Alas the search for a Brisbane hair cutter continues.
