She really talked in depth about the wines and you could tell this was truly her passion. We ended up tasting 3 wines that day; a red, white and a rose. Our guide Peter was amazing! Super knowledgeable and made the whole day so much fun! We went to three gorgeous Chateaus and tried some amazing wines. It was also just a beautiful ride and we got to drive though many pretty areas. This tour was such a great value, it included all of the wines we tasted and the tour in each location. I also want to add that while we love visiting wineries but we are in no way experts- this was a really fun tour and we were able to learn a lot but there was no pressure to know tons about wine before going! The only think we had to purchase additional was lunch and and bottles of gifts we wished to take home! This one is well worth leaving time for in your itinerary. It is a full day but we were back in Nice by 6:30pm so plenty of time to still get a nice dinner after!

I have visited many wineries over the past several years, and very few match Domaine Saint Joseph for having both excellent, affordable wine and an amazing tasting experience that is authentic to its core. The lunch in the middle of the tour was also wonderful and a lot more than expected! Special shout out to our guide Cedric. He rolled with our raucous group and started cracking jokes as well. He was really personable and put us at ease. Plus, he had an impressive background in wines and his knowledge helped enhance the experience. We all left knowing more about Provence wines. The tour of Chateu Des Selves was arranged by my company while we were staying in Cannes this week…read more The drive was approx 90 minutes from Cannes to the countryside via tour bus, I would imagine by car it would take approximately 20 minutes less. The location is a beautiful estate surrounded by grape vines and olive trees. It had the most beautiful views of the mountains and trees. The staff were friendly and welcomed questions. The wines are all made onsite with their own grapes, the olives are grown and made into their own olive oil. The wines were terrific, one particular red was outstanding (pictured) The olive oil was just as delicious along with local cheese. We were able to thoroughly enjoy the experience and make tapenade while we were there. If you have the chance take the tour and experience what they have to offer.

A perfect, juicy fruit that is like catnip to birds. They eat it, and the seeds within, then fly to a different location and take a crap along the way. That crap has grape seeds in it, and is already fertilized by the crap! If that's not divine intervention, I don't know what is. Ok, so we've established that wine is next to godliness, correct? Now let's establish the fact that this vineyard and winery is also heaven sent! As soon as you roll in through their front gates and look across the vineyards you know you're in the right place. Then as you walk inside and sample their wine you know you you've stumbled upon something special, something angelic even! I know, I know, hyperbole much? Ok, guilty as charged. It's just that wine puts a smile on everyone's face, and this place, paired with the wine they produce is seriously something special. Their rose is something to write home to mom about. Primarily of the Grenache varietal, it's light, fruity and refreshing. A solid wine to drink by itself, or pair it with some fish or salads. I'm tellin' ya, if you find yourself wandering about the French Riviera and in the mood for a quick winery tour and tasting, add this place to your list. You'll be glad you did.
