We were able to get a look at how the wine is made, stored and bottled! Then we sat down for a tasting. I especially enjoyed the "L'eternelle Favorite" Rose! I very much enjoyed our visit at this gorgeous chateau! My absolute favorite part was learning that this Chateau has been almost entirely women owned since the 1700s! It is family owned and has been passed down to the women of the family for generations!

The location is a beautiful estate surrounded by grape vines and olive trees. It had the most beautiful views of the mountains and trees. The staff were friendly and welcomed questions. The wines are all made onsite with their own grapes, the olives are grown and made into their own olive oil. The wines were terrific, one particular red was outstanding (pictured) The olive oil was just as delicious along with local cheese. We were able to thoroughly enjoy the experience and make tapenade while we were there. If you have the chance take the tour and experience what they have to offer.

And finally after 45 minutes could order more wine, plus some food. The charcuterie board was a work of art. We ordered scallops but a can of mussels came? We had an 7:30pm reso. Food arrived after 10 (we ordered nothing that required actual cooking). Again this is France, we are in zero hurry, but we would have spent so much more money if they were attentive and asked if you would like more wine. Instead we went mostly dry. Bill came a half hour after asking for it. Come for the views and a drink then leave is my advice.

But the ambiance and view alone were worth coming. Best view from this beautiful medieval hilltop town, and the selection of wine was very nice with tasty side dishes. NOTE: Parking is free in the lot to the right at the entrance to the old town. But only 250 spaces are gratis so book your dinner early (7pm) not after 8 like the locals prefer.

Dauphine hosted our, what turned out to be, private wine tasting. She was so fantastic, energetic, welcoming. Between our French and her very good English we enjoyed and bought some very good wines. After asked if there was a place for a picnic. She pointed to a lovely fountain area, then gave us the rest of one of the bottles of wine she opened for the tasting to finish with our lunch. This was the first, and obviously best experience in the wine country and would highly suggest this lovely winery and tasting room.

The prefix is definitely the way to go. Pair it with a nice bottle of wine and you are set. The food was not your standard French fair; it was more of a fusion of different cuisines but they pull it off beautifully. The Socca was cooked perfectly. The melon and prosciutto were a great combination of savory and sweet. But the star of my meal was the Asian inspired beef with noodles; cooked and seasoned to perfection with just the right amount of sauce and saltiness. It was glorious, not much else I can add. For dessert, just get the mousse. Trust me, you won't regret it. Overall, it was a super meal in a great location and with a wonderful staff. Would go back in a heartbeat.

I was initially weary of the fusion concept but it was perfectly executed and really made sense in terms of the this area. French, Italian and Asian cuisine come together in perfect harmony at L'Eponyme. Both hubby and I got the very reasonable 30 Euro prix fix. Appetizers were amazing. The socca layer cake was delicate and flavorful with roasted peppers and cheese holding it together. The melon with prosciutto and mozzarella was simple yet delicious. For our main courses the Cod was perfectly cooked with citrus and herbs to balance out the flavor. Fish was fresh as can be. The beef and noodles dish was a hit, with the juiciest most tender pieces of meat seasoned in a lovely Asian sauce. The accompanying noodles were the perfect texture. Even the dessert was spectacular. I loved my Toblerone mousse. It brought on some nice nostalgia from childhood. The strawberry crumble was heavy on the fresh strawberries and came with an amazing strawberry sorbet sprinkled with a few bits of crumble. This was the perfect meal to start of our vacation in the south of France!
