A Spanish style tapas restaurant, NB offered a variety of small plates. We shared pan con tomate and grilled artichoke hearts to start. The artichoke was phenomenal, with fresh garlic punctuating the juicy morsels. For our main dish, we split the Mariscada, a 25€ orgy of shellfish, garlic, lemon, and butter. Conversation stopped for 10 minutes as we could only moan our appreciation of the dish before us. The atmosphere was lovely and warm, and the service was prompt. Our waitress spoke some English. In all, we spent 49€ on 1 glass of wine, bread, artichokes, seafood, flan, and 2 coffees. I would definitely return.

These folks motor around so do not get in their way. A+ Food: Based on a four day sample of places here and in Roses; Vermut takes first place. The octopus capriccio was off the charts delicious. That was just one of 6 plates which were all wonderful. A++ Drinks: Well wine in Spain is plentiful and inexpensive. What more can you ask? A Atmosphere: Think about sitting under beautiful green trees on a 80 degree perfectly sunny day, 30 yards from a sparkling harbor; any questions? Thus we ordered the ham, sausage and cheese platter for 1, their mixed seafood paella, which we soon found out could only be bought in portions of at least 2 people, and a small fried fish on the side. The platter was delicious. It met the expected standards we had of the restaurant, given the lovely interior decor, with ham hanging inside the windows of the restaurant. The fish wasn't too bad. The paella on the other hand was unfortunately a disappointment. Though served nicely and with a generous portion (we ordered for 2 people but it was more than enough for the three of us), the paella was wayyyy too salty. We ended up only eating bits of the seafood inside the paella. What a pity! The colour was very off as well. It was advertised as the typical red tomato-base-looking colour, however, it was served rather brown in colour. We tried to look pass it, but unfortunately the first bite didn't erase our first impression. They also seemed quite understaffed to be honest, thus the lad serving us seemed to be having one of those off days where there was just too much demand. I guess the service took away our wanting to stay for a couple of hours. They do, however, serve generous portions. The platter for 1 was a good enough starter for 4 people I'd say! And very reasonably priced. We paid 45 euros in total.

We also had a fish that was grilled with just salt, olive oil and garlic. Again, so fresh it didn't need anything else. The service was impeccable.

We had the tomato (which were outstanding) along with the cheese (perfectly sliced) and Jamon (melt in your mouth and flavorful). Our waiter also told us about the Spanish omelette he had just made. It was excellent and we were glad we ordered it. He also recommended a nice dry white wine which was the best we had in Collioure so far. The waiter was extremely friendly, helpful and made for a delightful dining experience!!
