Rom is so far the best restaurant we have tried in Roses and maybe La Costa Brava…read more The restaurant is cozy and nicely decorated. It has 2 levels, the more elegant being upstairs, in my opinion. We made a reservation for 10 people with lots of time in advance, and they were ready when promised. 9.30 pm on the dot. The menu is so good... from small dishes to main courses.... there is something for everyone. We had bacalao beignets, tuna sashimi (so good), scallops carbonara , Turbot, lamb I mean... we tried a lot of their main dishes, and everything was delicious. Everyone in our group thought they had the best dish. (It was me, actually) The lamb in its own juices reduction on top of creamy mashed potatoes OMG. Incredible! The wine list is also notable... not full of crazy and pricey wines but with great quality wines carefully selected. In my opinion, this Michelin starred restaurant is not expensive, and it definitely delivers on quality, taste, and class. A must visit when you come to the area. You will not be disappointed.

We sat at one of the tables in the plaza, which allowed the kids to run arround between servings. We had patatas bravas, chorizo, pan con tomate, olives with anchovies and my kids had an enormous hamburger topped with chèvre. The meal was truly excellent. The chorizo was simmered in a wine sauce which we subsequently used as a dip for bread.... beautiful. After this feast we had squid with risotto in an ink sauce. It was a bit salty, but the squid was fresh and the ink sauce was so good we asked for more bread. Despite ordering enough for a small army, when the bill came we were shocked to see how little everything cost.
