Prices are what you would expect for a small "convenience" grocery store. They do have more space…read morethan Edgewater Produce, which they also own. It is within walking distance, which is a plus, though I do watch the prices and go to Mariano's or Jewel when they offer more for less. EVERYONE at the meat/cheese counter is great, and friendly. They really do know their stuff, though at times, I wish they had a ticketed numbered system. It would prevent me from going off on some of the older Eastern Euro clientele when they try to butt in line. NOT happening! The cashiers are efficient, though there is a tall male one that is new to me. Feels like his name should be Draco. Would almost pass for AI, due to his height an personality, though AI can be programmed to be charming and efficient. He literally saw me put down items on the belt and looked like he was confused as to what his role was, then asked me if I wanted a bag for all my purchases, despite it being obvious that I had none with me. I had to get snippy, because, well, I had to get snippy. Oprah did mention them in one of her shows, so they got "trendy" afterwards, but as other reviewers have said, they do carry items that you would find more at a Treasure Island than a Jewel, Aldi, or Mariano's. They are good for that. Now, if they would only work on their AI cashiers and make them more personable, then I would give them a five star rating. Especially since peeps in the hood voted down Amazon from taking over and planting seeds on the corner of Western and Lawrence, to take over the grocery store market.

I've been to this grocery store many times over the years, but never thought to review it before…read morenow. It's a pretty standard small grocery store, with a few things that may be hard to find elsewhere. They have some international brands, although the Mexican grocery store farther west on Lawrence (Lindo Michigan) is a better bet for Central American things. They sell some local brands, including freshly-roasted coffee from Brü Coffeeworks, also on Lawrence. Prices are a smidge higher than you might find elsewhere, but at least they're consistent and don't require you to download an app or join a frequent shopper club or whatever. I do wish they would stay open a little later. The staff are helpful, and they have a good selection of spices and seasonings. I wasn't able to find caraway seed elsewhere, for some reason, but when I asked a staff member if they had any, he immediately took me to the exact spot on the shelf where they had it in two different container sizes.

I have been craving Middle Eastern "Labne" for a really really long time now, so I decided to hop…read moreon the brown line right after work and head straight to this market. The location is extremely convenient. The minute you walk out of the Kedzie Brown Line stop you make a right and you're there. There's parking, which is good to know. It took over 50 minutes to get here on the train. It might be a lot faster if I drive, so I'm glad there's parking at least. The grocery store is huge and has a variety of Middle Eastern and Turkish goods. I bought several cheeses, from Kashkaval to Halloumi and most importantly my Labne! The meat looked extremely fresh, but I wasn't going to risk dragging it on the train with me all the way back to downtown, but I'll definitely keep that in mind if I drive back there. The isles are organized and neat. There's also a mini bakery in the store and it has delicious sweets and lots and lots of fresh bread. They also have the famous Middle Eastern Mankushe (thyme and cheese flavors)! I wanted to buy so many more things but there's only so much I can carry with me. The employees were super helpful and helped find a few things I needed. The only reason why I am giving 4 stars is because there were some expired items in the fridge, but nothing that drastic! Till next time!

After seeing plenty of Milli by Metric social media buzz...we knew this one was going to pass the vibe test! Street parking in the neighborhood nearby! This space is everything I adore...mood lighting, exposed brick, community seating, and modern design touches. This is the perfect spot to grab a coffee and get some serious work done. The staff was friendly and welcoming! We ordered a Cortado and their season special, the Strawberry Thyme Latte. The Cortado had lovely flavor from the espresso and just enough creamy milk. The Strawberry Thyme Latte was a subtly fruity, with just a hint of herbaceousness that really elevated the drink. Top notch spot and very glad we chose this one!

3.5 stars. Hard to give this rating but here are the issues…read more It's way too expensive. $5 for an espresso. $4.5 for a small drip coffee. Specialty drinks in the $8.5 and up range. Pastry's, that while are delicious, are also really more expensive than most other coffee spots and are not that big. Thy are really slow. If you walk in and there is a line that stretches to the door, which is maybe 10 to 15 people, expect to wait 15 to 20 minutes to o place your order and then another 5 to 10 minutes to get your food and drinks (unless it's a drip). I've walked in an walked out before because of that line. Seating and parking. Parking is obviously out of their control trial, but there is super limited parking in the area and it's really hard to find a spot. Your best bet is walking or riding there. As for the seating, it seems like there is plenty of seating but people camp out there with computers for long time and even at random times it's been really tough to find a spot. Lastly, their bags of coffee are really expensive. I know they consider themselves top of their market, but unless you are an occasional coffee drinker or just have that much money to burn, you can't drink their coffee daily. They sell 2 pound bag for $49. The place is stunning though. I hope their take out window opens eventually and maybe they can light a fire under their staffs ass to speed up. Something helpful also might be to put the menu by the door and maybe out the pastry display in the middle section so by the time the people get to the counter they know what they are ordering. Good luck to this business. There is t a ton over there, but these issues are going to prevent me from going regularly.
