Amazing meal we had in this centrally located restaurant. Much better than its neighbor "Los Caballeros" for half the price overall, bigger portions, higher quality product. If you're into eating this place is for you hands down. Be ready to be Positively surprised!!! Yummm Recommend to try as many entrantes as you can. Ask for the seasonal specials that aren't on the menu, they'll probably be the best there. When in Santo Domingo de la Calzada, make sure you hit this wonderful spot. Literally in front of the cathedral and right around the corner from the tower you can walk up and see the surroundings of town. If you have to choose between this and for example the restaurant in the Parador, or Los Caballeros, don't doubt it, come here to enjoy some true Riojan cuisine!!! read more

This family run restaurant has the best...beautiful interior, the best hospitality (the father), great wait staff (the son), and a great chef (the mother). Do not miss dining here. Wow! Best meal I've had in Spain so far. Beautiful, modern interior. Fantastic service. A full wine list full of sumptuous Rioja wines. And the food...elegant. My first course was some croquettes filled with Jamon Iberico. They were not greasy in the slightest. The second course was a delicious fresh, lightly curried salmon. I ate the entire thing, skin and all! For desert, a ultra light milk custard with a berry sauce and figs on top. Such an airy finish to a delectable meal. Service requires a little background. I have been walking across Spain for the past two weeks. I'm clean. But, I haven't shaved and I'm wearing a flannel shirt with blue havianna flip-flops. I apologized for my appearance. and, the proprietor made me feel so at home. He was completely understanding even though I looked like a wayward vagabond. This was a special meal for me and I'd love to return some day. read more

Delicious!! The staff was so lovely, it's a family owned restaurant and they're a lovely family. I'm walking the camino De Santiago and they didn't even flinch at my athletic attire in such a tasteful and well kept restaurant. I ordered the bacon wrapped steak and it was delicious. The dinner came with bread and the small baguette was Lovely! Perfectly cooked! Finally I had the chocolate cake for dessert and it was exactly what I wanted. Lovely all around! read more

Loved this place right next to the cathedral and along the Camino. Small place with not many tables but many tasty looking menu options and an English menu to boot for knuckleheads like me. Really friendly service as well, which I appreciated. They had more interesting choices on the menu than my steak & fries (Entrecôte) but I was quite happy with the steak, on top of a starter of vegetables. Nice Rioja wine selections as well. This Michelin-recommended restaurant offers Spanish dishes in a modern environment. The food was excellent, each dish presented with a sure hand that at first seemed surprising for this little town. Service was attentive, very friendly, and very personal. The menu offers a nice, large, and diverse selection, from appetizers to entrees to desserts and the wine list. This is a family-run business, and it's so good I believe it would do very well even in a city like San Sebastián. By the way, we were a group of thirteen, and the service and cooking was as fast and friendly and uniformly outstanding as if we had been just two. Truly amazing. read more
