I wanted to go to strip that was down the block but they were all booked so I found this place and I'm sooo glad I did. I booked an appointment just 30 mins before I went and they were so nice and fast! Service is excellent I forgot who helped me out but everyone was great. During my wax, it was pretty painless since they use hot wax!!! If there was any pain it was very tolerable. The girl who waxed me took her time and made sure she got every hair and even talked to me consulted me about any issues I was having with aftercare and etc. they're so knowledgeable and informative I felt like I was in very very good hands. Love this place!! Gonna have to find hot wax back in the US

And waxing itself is SO expensive so I have tried out a couple of places, but I do really like Honeypot as they use Hard Wax and don't double dip which is SO SO important. Only qualm is my fav waxologist Maryann has left :( boo. But it is a clean environment and super conveniently located, right above that massive new Adidas in LKF, which used to be a Coach. Hit me up if you have more questions but I would very much happily recommend this place as well as STRIP:ministry of Waxing, but I think they dont use hard wax which is why I ended up at Honeypot. Easy to make reservations on whatsapp and I discovered them through the powers of google , they have a great deal for first timers ;) but dont all rush there, I need some appointment times!! I kid.

Reena Beauty Salon has just earned itself a new regular. I was looking online for an affordable…read moreplace to get my eyebrows threaded - previously, I had either had them tweezed or trimmed at facials, or waxed at Benefit, but ever since my first ever time having my eyebrows threaded in Singapore, I've realized that I actually prefer this method over tweezing and waxing. After doing a quick Google search - keywords 'inexpensive eyebrow threading HK', Reena Beauty Salon came up in a couple of forums. Their website stated that eyebrow threading was just $60, so I figured, why not? I happened to be in Central today and while waiting for my mother, decided that this was as good a time as any to go to try it out. I called and asked if it would be all right for me to come in for an eyebrow threading in about half an hour's time, and was told that it was no problem. So off I went - it's actually hidden in an old building in LKF, so it's a little bit of an uphill trek to get there. Its website states that it's on the 7th floor of Winner Building, and the directory board on the ground floor says so too, but both have not been updated - the salon is actually on the 4th floor now, so do take note of that. Reena herself is clearly very professional and experienced, and I was in and out of there in ten minutes - no joke. I couldn't believe how quick it was! When she was done with one eyebrow, she asked me if she wanted it thinner or if this was okay, and I told her I wanted it just a teeny bit thinner. I was afraid I was going to regret saying this and that she was going to go overboard with that request, but thankfully, she didn't! If all you need is a quick eyebrow threading session, Reena's Beauty Salon is perfect, and not to mention inexpensive. It's far from glamorous - it's not air conditioned (though there's a fan), and it's in an abandoned building with a dingy lobby and lifts that creak. If you're looking to be treated like a star, this isn't the place for you. Oh, one thing I noticed was that after the threading, there were bits of eyebrow hair on my face (she didn't buff it off after threading), but it wasn't really an issue - I just brushed it away with a tissue. Overall, I'm definitely glad I found this place and it'll be my go-to from now on!

Their product names are super creative too - my personal favorites are the primer 'stay don't stray' anther complexion balm 'dr. feelgood'. But this isn't a review about Benefit products - to be honest, I've not tried or used quite enough to give one anyway. I've been to the Benefit at Kowloon Tong quite a few times to get my eyebrows done at the Browbar. I have had my eyebrows done here a few times by Jennifer, who does a great job and is very nice too. $150 is a bit of a steep price to get your eyebrows done, but if you have never done anything with your eyebrows and are skeptical about the level of pain and how it will turn out, I would recommend coming here. Jennifer is great and you can tell that she's experienced at what she does. She'll ask you what kind of shape you're looking for, and is quite on point too. She does a combination of waxing and tweeting and I don't find it very painful, which is why I think it's great for anyone who's never gotten their brows done before. I've bought a couple of products here too besides just getting my eyebrows done. The sales ladies are very knowledgeable about their products and will tell you all that you need to know. Once, when I was done with my brows, I was asked if I use BB cream - I told them that I do, and one of the sales ladies helped me try it on. I didn't end up buying it, but I was impressed with both the knowledge of the sales lady and the product itself. They are generous with samples too, so if you're hesitant about a product, try your luck and ask if they have a sample that you can take home. I love that the store is very pink and bright, and it really brings out the girly girl in me!

I have now been to Sparadise on a couple of occasions. Mostly for pedicures, but this past visit…read morewas on a great package they offered. Sparadise is located on the busy street of Wellington in Central, tucked up on the 4th floor. They are a small salon, more boutique service geared versus serving the masses and have a lot of organic product lines for sale. When you are at 60 Wellington Street, go down the alleyway and you will see the entrance to the elevators on the right. Sparadise is intimate, cozy, bright, airy, light colored and clean. When you walk off the elevator, you walk into the small reception area and pedicure area. The staff is welcoming and friendly (Amanda, Rose and others all are smiling and accommodating...if you watch them while getting your service, you can see kindness and care in their actions). After going a couple times, it is nice to see the same friendly staff faces since it is a small group for the most part. The owner is often around and welcoming and friendly as well. My only thoughts about the owner is that she has on occasion treated her staff curtly in the ear shot of customers like me and that kind of turned me off a bit. Kind of cracking the whip on the staff, but smiling to the customers...seems like there might be a better way to manage staff in the presence of customers, that's all. It seems like all staff are trained in all areas. Your pedicure person might also be giving you a massage or your facialist might be giving you a pedicure as well. Kind of cross trained I suppose. I would imagine with the more technical stuff (micro derm abrasion or something), you might have to have a specific person. The pedicure is good. They have the eco-friendly product nail color line of Sparitual, which I like. They also carry OPI as well, if non-eco-friendly is your thing. Both are good polish. They only file my heals a bit with a foot file, although I prefer a deeper skin layer to be removed via a shaver or a grader, but this is OK. The green seating bench has a firm upright back, which you are either going to like or not like. There are pillows to accommodate if need be to help with this. They serve a lovely lemongrass tea too that is really quite delightful. This spa has a very aggressive package program. I am not a package person, because I like to jump around to different salons/spas and try new things. As such, I am OK with being firm when they start to give the "pitch" about buying a package in advance. I sit at my pedicure bowl and see lots of people come in and use services on their packages and re-sign up for packages too. Although it seems to vary, basically if you cough up money in advance, they seem to kick in an extra service or two and then offer you a 10,20,30% discount when you come in for services. For loyal customers, this would be a great deal. For me, I always turn down the package and simply pay the price for the service. They welcome that too, just know their "pitch" before going. I like the pedicure experience, so I have no problem paying full price. The spa has an equally aggressive e-mail marketing campaign that rolls out once a month. There is a different "package of the month" each month. This past month, the offer was this: either to be redeemed all at once or you could break it up and come in over time... coconut & raw sugar scrub (30 min), head & neck shoulder massage (30 min), aroma body massage (60 min), foot massage (30 min), express spa pedicure (30 min)...an $1860 value, for $900. This was a deal! I redeemed my package all on the same day for a 3+ hour spa experience. Amanda was the staff that was assigned to me for all the services (thus the cross training I mentioned earlier). For spa services outside nails, they escort you to another floor. The treatment rooms are small, well appointed and clean. The one I was located in was divided from another room with someone else getting a facial by a heavy velvety curtain versus a regular wall. That seemed kind of odd, but nothing that bothered me too much. The shower I used in the room after the scrub seemed recently redone and was contemporary and nice. I will go again and always keep my eyes peeled for their e-mail promotion to hit my in-box.

I found this place through Groupon. I'm always weary about…read moreGroupon because sometimes, you can end up with a crappy manicure/pedicure. But this place does your mani/pedi really well and treats you with the same customer service as those who do pay full price to get their nails done here. I got my pedicure about a month ago, and the nail polish is still looking good - minimal chipping and fading so I'm happy about that! They do offer you a "one time offer" to buy a package deal which is to pay up front for 5 manicures but you also get an additional 2 services for free - it's something like that. I could possibly be wrong with the numbers. Anyway, the place is clean, smells great, and my feet look and feel great. I'd definitely come back and pay full price. I also like that they provide a soft, warm blanket to put on your legs in case you're a little chilly - A small little detail but made the experience even better.
