So I came to La Cabana for lunch and this time it was a 5/5. I hadn't had fish tacos here before and so decided that that would be a good option for lunch. I am glad that I made that choice. The chips were good, crispy, and fresh, but this review is about the fish tacos. The tacos were on flour tortillas, and they had cilantro sauce. The cilantro sauce was outstanding: not too intense, but you definitely taste it. The fish had a good sear, and was also tender and juicy. The tortillas were likewise soft and warm, which added to the texture of the tacos. These three tacos left me gut-bustingly full, and they were also incredibly tasty. I really don't like posting negative reviews, but here we are. This place was recommended by several people for having the best mexican food. I may be biased but I highly disagree. There are several places better than this place. We ordered a cheese dip, guacamole, choripollo, shrimp quesadilla and a Mexican Pizza. The guacamole was...disgusting. It looked like something from a diaper. There was no life to it. The cheese dip was runny like water or milk had destoyed it into a flavorless soup. The chorizo was wayyy too greasy and tasted burnt. The chicken was dry, flavorless and overcooked. My knife barely could cut it. It also came out cold. The rice was undercooked. It was clumpy and dry. Highly in need of salt. The tortillas were definitely store bought and heated from a chef Mike. They could barely be bitten through to take a bite. You had to saw through it with your teeth. My husband couldn't finish the pizza. It was one flavor profile with the only thing fresh being the onions. The onions and peppers on the quesadilla came from the frozen section of Walmart. We live in town so we eat here on a regular basis, both sit down and take out. It is very rare that anything is wrong and I don't think I have ever gotten anything wrong with takeout. We love the food. read more

Amazing food and service! Fajitas are fantastic as are the chips and salsa! Always get seated right away with a smile too!

Do not order fajitas to go. They add some kind of juice so you don't get that hibachi-like flavor.

Food was good but have concerns about the way they bring the plates out on a cart. Flies were on the plates on the lower shelves and it created a sanitation issue. Brought it up to the wait staff and was dismissed about my concern. I don't think I will be going back. read more

The food is good, but they charged me $9 for a draft beer which cost more than my meal....!!!???? Not cool!

We stopped in for lunch on our way thru town. Place looked great. Service was terrible. Our server never checked on us. It took a very long time for the food to get to us. At the end of our meal the servers were all doing silverware and they dropped the silverware on the floor. We found La Cabana to be a perfect place to gather. The menu was surprisingly extensive and very moderately priced. Our food items were all really good. This restaurant also can serve alcohol, which added to our experience in a pleasant way. It appears to be family run and definitely worth the visit to enjoy really great authentic mexican and tex-mex dishes. read more

I absolutely love La Cabana's fajita nachos with steak and chicken! Just be sure you have extra chips. The meat is seasoned well, not dry and goes great with the cheese dip. I enjoy the shrimp tacos but they I have to have cheese dip with them to give it a punch of flavor. read more

i've been a life long customer of the La Cabana here in cochran. i attempted the place an order togo, like i always have, and was placed on hold. being placed on hold was not the issue as i understand they are a busy establishment. during the 10 minutes i was on hold the person on the phone proceeded to take several other orders. i was then hung up on. upon calling back it seems the phone was taken off the hook. read more

Ate there one time, not favorably impressed. While the place seems to be well frequented by some, I thought that the menu should also include a fare of American food as well as Mexican. I must admit however that I am biased, in that I do not generally care for Mexican food. read more

The food is awesome. If you are In the middle of nowhere this is the best place to eat for miles around. One of the best plates to get is the Nachos Lá Càbana. It is good for anyone who likes Mexican food. Even if you don't like Mexican good they have fried chicken and French Fries. They have something for everybody. read more

This is my 2ND review for this place. I just wanted to to say there are two la cabanas. The one I enjoy the most is also on Dykes but it's on the side headed towards Hawkinsville. The one in front of Advanced auto parts is still good but not as good. read more
