The staff was very polite, and the location is perfect! But some of the food was bland in it's taste (pasta with Salomon) and the dessert was a dissapointment. It felt and tasted like it was made some days ago, the crem brulee was cold.. But the food was served very quick:-) read more

I liked the wasabi salmon which was tasty and not too spicy. The magret de canard with honey was a little dull compared to my expectations. Excellent surprise lunch!! Sunday afternoon, cold & rainy, but we were lucky enough to get the last table. We ordered the fixe price menu. Unbelievably delicious choices. Great food in La Rochelle at a very reasonable price. Friendly wait staff and very accommodating to visitors like me who may not speak French very well. I've been here twice. The entree+plat+dessert is a great deal. The red curry chicken was extremely tender with just the right amount of spice. The white rice was cooked perfectly. I also ordered the duck at the reccomendation of a co-worker, and I do not usually eat duck. La Boussole made me a believer, their version is delicious. Very tender, served on a hot plate, with a sweet caramelized sauce on top. The chocolate banana egg rolls were sinfully delicious, albeit messy because the chocolate was melted to a liquid. read more
