Not having reservations we weren't sure we would be seated but were seated in the outside area. The evening was cool and umbrellas were raised for the setting sun. Our entrees were out standing, I had the duck breast and my husband the quail. Both were delicious and our glass of wine was full bodied. Great way to end our first night back in France.

It's great for people watching and realizing that even the people of Nantes are all dressed chic - though they are far from Paris. My lunch started out with my tumbling around with my French, but without my asking, Joseph, my server, asked if I wanted water for Sophie my little dog. Wow. Thoughtful. I stumbled around again with my French, but he didn't seem frustrated. I ordered three things. The escargot bretagne, the melon et jambon et less hûitres - which are local of the Vandee River. They were HUGE but not chewy. Ive been told and I have read that in France it is rude not to finish one's plate. I hate being rude and he assured me that I would not be rude should I not finish. As I warmed up, my french flowed a little better. Over all my experience eating alone here was very pleasant because my server was enjoyable. The food is to be expected because I ordered rather generic things.

So this place is part of a chain, and you know what to expect. Good and fresh food. It won't be "wow" but it's good quality. A good mix between the sea food lovers and carnivores. The traditional choucroute and Flammekueche from the east of France, and oysters and other sea food from we of France. Service is quick and efficient, you never have to wait a long time to get the attention of a waiter and get your dish on your table. We still quite often come here when wanting a simple but good lunch, without spending two hours in the restaurant.
