I went to La Bottega with my husband and a friend on a Friday night.
I've always thought that they only had the front part of the restaurant but actually, when we arrived, we were taken to a back room where there were more tables. Unfortunetly, we had a table next to the restrooms... kind of unpleasant at first with the smell of cleaning products.
The menu is pretty simple. I love simple menus! They have some options à la carte and the menus with 4, 6 or 9 dishes. You can have them with wine pairing or not. They are all surprise menus so the waiter just asks if anyone has some kind of allergy. The menus have to be the same to the whole table!
We chose a 4 course menu at 65CHF and we were very pleased! We had in total 7 course counting the 2 amuse-bouche and a pre-dessert.
1st amuse bouche: broccoli with some kind of sauce and quail eggs (very good)
2nd amuse bouche: toast with chicken liver patê
1st course: Scallops with a slice of green apple and sauce
2nd course: beets risotto
3rd course: Lamb and baby carrots
Pre-dessert: clementine and anis sorbet
Dessert: Pear sorbet and roquefort (I didn't like that combination but the sorbet was AMAZING)
I found the experience very enjoyable and I would definitely go back for more!
Plus, they have wonderful plates, glasses and cups. They are like little works of art! read more
