A typical Buenos Aires restaurant with sub-par food.
La Bolívar seems to stick out like a sore thumb in historic San Telmo. But indeed it is one of many unfortunately awkward newer restaurants that simpl can't compete with the historic cafes and bars of this amazing area.
I came because I was looking to explore uncharted territory and the prices looked reasonable. Unfortunately, in this case, I got what I paid for. I ordered bife de chorizo, and it was the second-to-worst steak I've ever had in this city.
One boon: The menu is fairly extensive and the prices are good, albeit for food that is not.
If you want to know what restaurants are like like in San Telmo, go somewhere else. If you want to know what food is like in Buenos Aires, also go somewhere else. But if you simply need to fill your belly for a good price and can't travel more than 2 blocks from here, this will meet its intended function. read more
