The over all experience here was okay. The food came out hot which was wonderful. And the steak in the steak fajita quesadilla was tasty. The salsa was good, but not great. I ordered the house margarita and honestly, that's what brought my over all rating down to a 3 . The margarita was just not good at all. I didn't even finish it. Which is a shame because it was $6 and in the cutest glass. But honestly, I don't know if it's the mix they use or if it was the house tequila or what, but it was not good. Thankfully the food was good. So now I know just not to order the house margarita but honestly it makes me scared to order another drink here other than beer. And ya can't get Mexican without a margarita, amarite? The patio was nice though. And while the server didn't seem so happy, he did get everything needed to us in a timely fashion which is always appreciated.

If you know, you know...but in case you don't.. here is my review! You are seated without a wait and the service is usually good. Close to work and it was about 6 people in the party. The food was good, no complaints, but this was not my selection this time.

    Love me some Mexican food!

Second time at this restaurant. The staff is friendly. The establishment is clean and easy to find on the corner of State St. The Bamba bowl was very filling and the margarita helped it all down smoothly.

I thought I had experienced all of the Mexican restaurants in Greensboro... Until we stumbled upon this gem! The service was fast, the food was fresh and flavorful, and the location is pretty fun. We will be back soon!

Remember that chicken soup I was telling you about.... Add burrito sauce..... again.... Thank me later.... Ok...actually...thank my husband

By far my favorite Mexican spot ever! I've been 3 times in the past 2 days (sorry no pictures I was so hungry!) My faves are the fried burritos (with red AND cheese sauce) or you can get a good ol' #11 combo! They have a secret gem that's not on the menu..... chicken soup.... Thank me later!!

    Philly Cheesesteak tacos

Unclear why every menu doesn't include a Philly Cheesesteak Taco and why I've just now had one. These were honestly so delicious and a nice spin on a traditional taco! They were very large tacos and filled nice and full so much so I was only able to eat one by the time I had a little rice and chips with guacamole! Speaking of the Guacamole, it was just me eating so I got a small Guacamole and while the guacamole with Pico in it is normally my favorite, I knew it would go to waste with just me eating it so I got the regular small guacamole, I wasn't expecting much it packed a little punch I must say!

This local Mexican joint is a common stopping place for my husband and I as its in walking distance. We dined-in right before COVID caused the stay-at-home order in mid-March. We have also gotten take-out a couple of times since then. We are not dining-in restaurants much yet but La Bamba has a very large dining area and outside seating, which is good for COVID social distancing practices for those that are. At the time of these photos, I got the dinner Mixed Fajitas (chicken and steak with grilled onions, tomatoes, and bell peppers). Meat and vegetables are always cooked nicely and seasoned well. Fajitas are served with rice and your choice of beans (you can actually get black beans here, which isn't an option at some of our go-to Mexican restaurants so this is a top choice place for me when being healthy as I don't want refried beans), guacamole, sour cream, salad, pico, and flour tortillas. I do wish they did offer corn tortillas as well as I prefer them and generally healthier. Maybe something they can consider for the future! Plenty of food for two meals! My husband got the Enchiladas Suizas- three chicken enchiladas with cheese sauce and ranchero sauce served with rice. I had a bite and delicious! Also, a nice size portion. Their complementary chips and salsa are also yummy. They give you so many chips when you get take-out as well. Absolutely felt safe when got take-out, cashier is behind glass, wearing mask and gloves, hand sanitizer around, etc. Food is always packed nicely and so far; orders have been correct. No doubt I will be back many times!

    Queso dip (small)

Order take out from them twice and both times the food was yummy! Absolutely love the queso dip. I always get the carnitas tacos. The first time it came with hot sauce but this time it didn't (it was better with hot sauce) but each entree came w chips and salsa so I just used the salsa for my tacos and it was fine.

They're cheese dip is also to perfection not thick and lumpy.

A Greensboro classic enjoyed by the residents of Irving Park. Service is ridiculously fast, especially considering how large their menu is.

True to its namesake, there are brightly colored folk art designs throughout the restaurant in line with their Mexican heritage. The trees that make it look overgrown from the outside actually serve to allow sunlight while masking the surrounding city, facilitating the transformation that makes you feel like you're in Mexico City. We came at an off-peak time in the afternoon and it was nearly empty. We were seated immediately and the service was prompt and attentive. I was pleased to see some unique menu offerings like Birra Ramen and Sopes that deviate from the standard American-friendly fare in most places. Drinks were good - we had a regular house margarita, a triple berry margarita, and a jalapeño cucumber margarita. All were tasty and I would order again. I tried to order a Mezcalita, since it's not often I see a Mezcal option, but they were out of that particular liquor. We tried to get street corn as an appetizer, which they were also out of. We got cheese and salsa with chips instead. The chips were hot and fresh, the salsa generous with the cilantro, and the cheese bold and warm. For entrees we had the Al Pastor Quesadilla and the Birra Ramen. The quesadilla was good, though the beans on the side were pretty bland. The ramen was a unique and very tasty option, and I was not able to finish such a generous portion. I think I'd leave the cheese out next time since it made some weird textures, but the flavor was great overall. Overall, there are some small things to improve (having menu items in stock, bland beans) and the prices were a bit high, but we had a great experience overall. I'm not often in the area, but I'll certainly eat here again if I am!

The name Bandito Bodega is extremely accurate, as the store itself is a small and unassuming looking place, with a charmingly decorated interior and some indoor and outdoor seating. It was very convenient to order at the cash register as soon as you walk in, and the staff was very patient and efficient. I adored the unpretentiousness and individuality of the place. It did not need any flashiness or grandeur- just some good food and good vibes. Now the food: WOW I was blown away by the pork belly garlic fried rice. The pork belly was so incredibly fatty and perfectly crispy, the shrimp add-on was juicy and well seasoned, and the fried egg over a bed of DELICIOUS steamy garlicky fried rice was absolutely perfection. And they do NOT skimp on the portions. This heaping bowl was just $15, and it was generously topped with the pork belly. This will easily be a place I plan to frequent often, for the convenience, food, and charm.

She took care to place napkins, chopsticks, and a fork in the bag and to hand it to me directly. Overall, it was a great experience in service. The ambiance is casual and relaxed, typical of any fast-casual restaurant. At my earliest opportunity, I opened the box, which was stuffed full of pork belly, garlic noodles, broccoli, and scallions. The noodles had just the right amount of sauce, and the pork belly was perfectly cooked. The portion was so large that I ate some for lunch and finished the rest for dinner, and didn't need anything else either time. It's a food truck located in Petra's parking lot and open hella late, which is a WIN! I ordered 4 Quesa birria tacos, Birria ramen and something that looked like a mini quesadilla, I'm unsure of the name. The ramen was very flavorful although it felt like something was missing compared to Cali but overall very delicious! The only thing I didn't appreciate was the price. The cup was tiny and priced at $11. There wasn't enough room for additional consommé (juice) in the cup. I honestly think the cup could be a little larger for $11 or add more meat. My friend says the Quesa Birrias ($17) were good but they still prefer La Costenita's. Personally I don't like La Costenita's, because the meat and taco shells are extremely dry. But that's why we're all entitled to our opinions and preferences. :) The item that looked like a quesadilla was really tasty and only $7! It reminded me of a taco sandwich lol. The lady that took my order could of been a bit friendlier but I understand most people in NC aren't friendly at all. She insisted I add cheese after repeatedly explaining I do not like cheese and advised to dip my taco sandwich in the ramen but there wasn't enough juice in my ramen cup to even attempt that. Overall the meal was delicious, I've tried many places and this is at the top of my list. I would return when I'm craving something authentic but the pricing needs to be adjusted for what you get. Give it a try and tell me what you think!
