I highly suggest you make reservations because it's a small restaurant and fills up quickly. We managed to fit in a reservation for that night. We started with some hot wine. It was freezing outside so this drink certainly helped. The dinner menu was pretty big. I wasn't sure with what to get it what some things were so I just went with my first choice. I got the veal with veggies and potatoes. I'm not sure how exactly to explain how the veal tasted because I've had veal many times but this one was exceptional ! I highly suggest trying the veal.

The waitress was very friendly. We travelled back with a special panoramic train and loved the view on mountains and at the end on big Geneva lake. The presentation, the quality of the ingredients, the final product- all par excellence. By New York standards, the value is immense as everything on the menu would cost more in NY. This will be my main destination for visits to Gstaad and a definite incentive over other Swiss alpine destinations.

The good was good BUT there was a piece if broken glass in my dessert (ice cream with fruit) which cut my young and roof of my mouth, but I did not bleed. He basically accused me of planting the glass. My friend took the shard of glass to the owner and owner's wife who both work in the restaurant and they also said that the glass was not from their restaurant. They very grudgingly deducted ONLY the cost of the ice cream from my bill. They were not in the least bit concerned about my welfare and did not apologize to me. Shards of glass can be serious and even life threatening if swallowed. It is one thing to make a mistake , but it is another to treat your customers poorly, with such arrogance and have so little concern for their welfare. The alpine coupe was mostly whipped cream which we are not a big fans off. Would rather get an extra scoop of ice cream. Overall would not recommend driving all the way to dine here unless you are staying in the hotel and feeling lazy in leaving. I had the warm goat cheese salad which was amazing and my husband had the Gstaad crepe which was filled with melted raclette cheese, prosciutto, cornichons and small pickled onions as my photo shows. It was fabulous! Definitely recommend!
