Well... Let's just start off with if you're not open 24 hours then dont have it say it's open 24 hours. After getting into a wreck and having a car towed there. Then going later around 8pm and the doors are locked. So we call. Asking if we can get some things out of our vehicle including prescribed medication we are told no "there's not enough staff to escort you and we are closed". You can clearly see 3 people standing in the office that you can see through the window and having employees on their phones. Clearly you do have enough staff to "escort" people to get a few things including prescribed medication. After the fact they tell us they can release vehicles but you can't have someone escort you to get a few things out of your car. read more

This company doesn't care about following TDLR regulations. Unethical business practices and rude ownership. If you get towed by them and receive a notification letter examine it very closely. They tried to charge me for fees not allowed by the TDLR. Look at all the fees they charged and see if they are on the TDLR list of regulated fees. Step #1 search for 85.703. Responsibilities of Licensee--Notice to Vehicle Owner or Lienholder (1) All mailed notifications shall state: Step #2 Compare the requirements to your notice. Mine had 9 violations including: Expired TDLR #0561887VSF - they were too cheap to print out new ones with their current TDLR #'s 0655227VSF (Frisco) & 0655228VSF (Celina), failed to state the name of the tow truck driver as required by 85.703(E) , did not use the proper wording required by Texas Statute 85.703(B) (search it to see if yours is properly worded), the full licensed company name (LCLTJ INC) was not on the notice (LW's Towing was used instead (violation of 85703(A)), Time of arrival at VSF / time of tow are the same, No first date storage fees were assessed, No date for a scheduled transfer to their Celina Yard and no address for the Celina Yard. Step #3 request information from the police department with jurisdiction from where the vehicle was towed. They are required to report all non consent tows within 2 hours of towing the vehicle. This information can be requested on the city website under the Freedom of Information Act. LW's never reported the vehicle as towed as required by law and they are currently under investigation for this and other violations. If they were to report the vehicle they would not get to keep all of the money from the auction. Step #4 look closely at the towing sign from the location your vehicle was towed. If the sign says Operators instead of Operator's as it did where my vehicle was towed then it does not comply with the requirements set forth by the TDLR. Step #5 If you find any irregularities / violations of Texas statutes call LW's via speaker phone and record the conversation (This is legal in Texas if you are calling from Texas). Confront them about the violations and request them to release your vehicle without stipulation or charge immediately. Step #6 follow the instructions for SEC. 32.49 REFUSAL TO EXECUTE RELEASE OF FRAUDULENT LIEN OR CLAIM and request LW's to release your vehicle under the premise the lien they are claiming is fraudulent. While this process alone may not get a judge to enforce the statute and find them guilty of a felony what will happen is this. The minute they try to sell the vehicle at auction they will be committing a third degree felony when they fill out the required for VTR-265-VSF that clearly states at the bottom of page 1 that, under penalty of law 3rd degree felony, the VSF MUST HAVE: - Informed you as required by statute - Complied with all provisions of §2303 Texas Occupations Code If you can prove you informed them that they did not adhere to EVERY requirement listed by the statutes and TDLR codes ONE MISTAKE IS ALL IT TAKES and they fill out this form and sell your vehicle then it is time to get an attorney. Not only will they be in violation of the Texas Penal Code and facing a prison term but you will be entitled to sue them for asserting a fraudulent lien, one which you filed a request to release and can prove you informed them of why the lien is fraudulent via your recorded phone call, and get SUBSTANTIAL damages. (see CIVIL PRACTICE AND REMEDIES CODE TITLE 2. TRIAL, JUDGMENT, AND APPEAL SUBTITLE A. GENERAL PROVISIONS CHAPTER 12. No one likes to call a towing service... it's usually not a good sign. LW Towing was quick to respond and showed up less than 20 minutes. Tow truck had a huge flatbed, capable of towing an elephant. The driver was dressed in a jumpsuit with fluorescent striping for safety. He was friendly, professional, and offered to try to jump start the car first in an attempt to keep from towing and paying the towing fee. Needless to say I was impressed with the professionalism of the driver and the quick response. Cost was $95 plus $3/mile and a 3% credit card fee. He called me for help, I got on the computer and phone (yes, international calls, ouch!) to find a tow service, and discovered every service was booked out and it was going to be a 5-6 hour wait. :( One of them recommended I call LW's, and within 20 minutes they had a truck out there, got our grandson and his car to a tire place in the nick of time before closing, and all was well. I called my insurance company for emergency roadside assistance after a large object got stuck in one of my tires. Unfortunately, my insurance company dispatched this towing company to help me. After waiting 45 minutes, I concluded that nobody was coming to help me so I used my phone to watch a youtube video on how to change a flat tire in my car. It took around 15 minutes to do it. I've never changed a flat tire before and would have appreciated some help while I was stranded on the way to pick up my son from school so that I wasn't late getting him. No tow truck ever came to help me and nobody called wondering why I wasn't there anymore, so I'm pretty sure they never sent anyone to help me. read more

Daughter had a wreck and these guys towed it from the scene. We settle up with the tow yard and insurance company, sign over the title, etc. About a month later I get a bill from the tolltag agency with photos of my daughter's plates on a different car going through a few tollbooths. Obviously, someone at LWs stole the plates and put them on another car since they don't allow just anyone into the lot. If you get towed from an accident by these guys, be sure to remove any valuables including your plates especially if you have a tolltag account linked to the license plates. read more

My car was towed here and the woman working the counter had a serious case of rbf. They were rude about my need to assess my carsdriving conditio before driving it safely off the property. I was dealing with a blown front tire and driving off the property on my tires rim. They were also unclear as to the exact location of my car in their tow yard. And the worst thing of all about these guys is the insane amount they charge u on 1 day only! And they like to bash their nextdoor businesses stating how they all will tow your car if u happen to pull into their parking lot to assess your car . Staff are not friendly--actually they are rude. They did not disclose fees to us when they towed a car from the scene of an accident. Can you at least have a piece of paper with your fees on there? Had the unfortunate event of our car breaking down in McDonalds parking lot in Little Elm, TX after being in surgery for 5 hours. We have Geico with Roadside Assistance and they dispatched this company to tow our car to a local shop for repairs. A very nice young man named Doyal arrived and took total control of a bad situation and went as far as deliver the car keys and all to the shop so as we did not have to do any follow though. Called after returning late from Houston and after giving them some info they asked for the zip code where I was. I told them I was stranded and didn't know, which they continued to ask for. I told them I would get someone else. In retrospect I could have gotten an address from a business and found the zip, but when you are stranded late you could use some patience and help. I called another company and they was there in a flash, and as any wrecking company should, be able to navigate the area easily. Didn't have to give them a zip to find me. I used this company today and had a great experience. Showed up on time, very courteous, and made it easy for me!

They took a little while to get to us at 10p on a week night, but the guy who picked us up was very knowledgeable and super friendly. He was able to get my husbands sports car lifted and home within an hour and half. Again, the guy that picked up who is a driver supervisor was over the top friendly and courteous. Marty is a bit rude on the phone. I will agree with a previous yelper on that. It wouldn't hurt him to be a little nicer considering people are generally already upset when they get a tow truck. read more

the kindness and understanding from LWs towing family was something I've not experienced before in a situation like this. they could have easily made more money off my car being there but instead of leaving me to figure out how I was going to get my car out they went above and beyond to help me do what needed to be done to get my car out as fast as possible. myself and my gf are both cancer patients and because LWs towing was so understanding and helpful to us both we were able to get my car out and get back to what we needed to do.. they were so kind and even had the cutest dogs! offered us cold bottles of water and were very respectful and patient with us both the entire time. altho I hope i never need my car towed again I def will always come back to them if I do. my car was kept safe and all my valuables were still there when I returned. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a towing company. The police called them and to tow my car after an accident instead of letting me use my insurance because they said they needed to clear the road. The next morning I saw a charge on my credit card that was pending for $56 and it's from after my car had already been towed. I immediately called my credit card company to reverse the charge and report fraud. Later that day I went to go retrieve my car or at least my wallet. I was told that I needed to come back during normal business hours however Marty the person I was speaking with on the phone was extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked for the owners information so I could get this situation handled immediately. The next day I called in requesting to speak to the owner again and was told he would call me back. However Jennifer called me and told me the Marty has had multiple issues in the past and that they were planning on dealing with him accordingly, I than asked if the day fee could be waived sense she informed me I could have picked up my car the night before when I had spoken with Marty. She let me know that LW the owner was the only one with that authority and that he would give me a call back the next day. I went in later that day to pick up my car and found out that not only had my personal items been moved from my glove box, to the middle console, but also $80 dollars in cash was missing. I waited around all day today to get a call from LW until at 5:30, 30 minutes before closing, I called them back and asked to speak with him. I informed him of the missing cash and the credit card fraud and he immediately went on the defensive saying that he knows none of his employees would steal and that they have never had this type of reputation or any other complaints of this nature. He knows all of the employees and they are "good people". He is only willing to work with me if I can send him my credit card statements so they can figure out who did it and as far as the cash goes that's a lost cause. I let him know I had already filed a case with the police and that I would be working with them. Me and him literally had a YELLING match because he continued to over speak me and take back what he said. He said that who he chooses to let work for him is none of my concern and maybe if I had the type of work day Marty has than I would understand why he treated me the way he did. LW treats and talks to customers however he wants to with little sympathy or professionalism and he allows his employees to do the same. I have already filed a police report, a complaint with the bbb, and a complaint with the Attorney General. He doesn't care or want to resolve this issue even after being informed of that. read more

Larry is friendly, and does give back to the community often allowing the use of his COLORFUL fleet of trucks in high school parades. They are on the rotation list for many of the local law enforcement agencies who entrust them to not only safely, but securely tow, impound and store vehicles for a variety of situations. Was in an accident feb 4th and I told his driver at the scene that I wanted my car dropped off at my house. I was injured so I sat in the car and waited for things to clear up. his driver approached me more than once to get my info, the last time he approached me he told me he would have to get my address so he could do the drop off mind you he had already taken my id and taken down my info. B/c I could move much I had one of the officers to escort me in his car to the other side of the street to my b/f car. Before I left the scene I told the officer that I needed to wait b/c I needed to make sure the tow drive had my info... the officer told me they would make sure he got all of it b/c they had everything documented incase he didn't get it. I had my boyfriend drop me off 5-7 mins down the street from the accident at Baylor ER on 380. When my b/f picked me up to take me back home it was after midnight I noticed my car wasn't there. I called the very next morning and told them that they should not have possession and I wanted it near my house he told me that the driver said I told him I only had 300 on my card which wasn't enough to cover the tow... First of all how the HELL would they or I know how much the tow was going to be before it got to the destination. second of all why would a tow cost 300 to go 7-9 miles down the street from the accident. Ive gotten cars towed many times and not one time did they know the price before they drove and included the mileage. I called this morning and spoke to a guy that told me he was going to see if the charges could be weaved for the misunderstanding. He stated to me that he was waiting for the owners to come in to discuss the matter his exact words were if you don't hear from me by 10 call us back. Well I did just that I was put on hold for more than 10 mins to be transferred over to Larry was a rude prick.
