My spaghetti came out within minutes in this jam packed restaurant on New Years Day in Regensburg in the heart of Bavaria while my wife and teen age daughter came on a four day visit during New Years in which I finally took my first four day pass from Grafenwoehr to meet up with them in München (Munich). What a great final cap and awesome beginning of the year to spend it with family that visited all this way from El Paso. L'Osteria, we hope to be back, maybe with more family God willing. read more

Run don.t walk away from this " restaurant . ". This is a tourist trap chain that uses it.s central location in a high-density tourist area to prey on the unsuspecting. Staff is rude and inconsiderate. They frankly don't give a damn; they are merely corporate drones and it shows from the food to the service to the corporate ambiance. If you're interested in authentic Bavarian food and and far more interesting and pleasant experience go to one of the two beer gardens on the north side of the Old Stone Bridge. Warm and inviting, exactly what we needed on a cold day. Place was hopping when we arrived for lunch, but we didn't have to wait long for a table. Pizzas are HUGE and plenty to split between two people. We got the Four Cheese and were very pleased (although somewhat surprised blue was one of the four - that's not typical in the US). So i walked in and had to wait for a second which wasn't terrible. Of course, like everywhere else in the city, Germans Stared. Then went to the host guy and he told me to get take-away to order at the bar. Went to the bar and ordered Rigatoni Gorgonzola. Pay with cash after he asked how I would be paying. Received my food after about 12 minutes. The atmosphere is similar a Sit down restaurant for families mixed with soft music in the background for the experience. Low hum of conversation and a bar for drinks. You can see the cooks in the back similar to Vapianos. Second time in one day going to the restaurant. Second time going to This restaurant. I sat at the bar and waited for about 8 minutes. The bar tenders seemed confused. It was weird. They will get one more chance then I'll pick somewhere new. read more

Love the thin crust pizza and great setting. Perfect place for lunch. The pizzas are huge so plan on sharing - and you can do a half and half so everyone gets their favorite. Why compromise?! We had a half fungi freschi and half salami - and we're both very satisfied. We also split a salad, that was generous and nicely dressed. Great pizza in the heart of Regensburg' Old Town. One of the best deals as well. Their pizzas are very similar to what you'd find in Italy and are surprisingly reasonable. Murphy's Law kicked in while my boyfriend and I wandered around Regensburg. When we weren't hungry, we couldn't seem to walk a half block without seeing a pizza place...when we were starved, we found ourselves pie-less. Then we heard voices...lots of happy voices. We found them just around the corner at L'Osteria. The place was jammed. It smelled heavenly. The pizzas being eaten on the sidewalk were gargantuan. And, very European...thin crust, lots of fresh sauce, and a smattering of fresh mozzarella (yay!). For two, the wait was quick...and, despite the crowds, the service was also quick. They definitely seem to have an efficient system in place...one person seats you, another gets your drinks, the next your food, someone else your espresso, and then there's the Giver of Desserts. The food was really good, not quite 5 star but a very strong 4. Did I mention the gargantuan pizzas? (Warning on the "scharf" pepperoni...they really mean it.) Between the two of use, we had a Radler, a saftschorle, a mixed green salad, a pizza we almost couldn't finish, a mini tiramisu and pannecotta, and an authentic Italian espresso. Total bill: 29 Euro. And, they're one of those rare places that accept credit cards! read more

Probably the best Italian food in the entire city of Regensburg. The outdoor European Regensburg plaza makes for a beautiful evening setting to go along with your candle lit dinner. Inside is a wonderful restaurant with an open kitchen, the drinks are mixed perfectly and the food is seasoned perfectly. It's not lit very well so translating the menu with my iphone app was a bit difficult. Nevertheless the is a must if you want a great experiences and even better food in downtown Regensburg. read more

Great food! Good hospitality. Price wise and food wise It's a good place to eat! Definitely go and try it out if you're in the city. My friend did say it's a poplar place for the locals, so you may have to make a reservation for dinner. Lunch time there was enough room. read more

Solid Italian food. Easy to get a table at lunch time even though it seemed pretty packed and like you needed reservations. Offer some Italian sodas and other Italian-y things you don't normally find on Italian restaurant menus in LA. Ordered a pasta with a light arrabiata sauce and arugula I believe. A bit pricey for ok pizza. $50 for 2 pizzas and a 2 drinks. The place has a nice dacor, and the wait staff is average not exceptional. There are plenty of other places in Regensburg that have the same quality of pizza. read more
