Flowers available are fairly seasonal, but there are some imported from overseas. The bunches you can buy are simple, but if you want to make up something for that special someone the staff are super helpful to combine some options for you (to suit your budget). Most importantly the flora lasts for at least 2 weeks and bunches come in brown paper packages tied up with string (these are a few of my favourite things). You can also get cute little starter gardens of lettuce and herbs here for a longer lasting present and cacti which only yours truly could kill for less than $20. A florist just fits in so well here. My eye was caught by a set up in the middle of the Arcade. Some beautiful live plants, terrariums, moth orchids and wood. I feel like this style is very much in fashion at the moment. Kind of that earthy green forest feel. Very fresh looking. The set up in the store is simple and clean. Each species is presented in beautiful displays in large metal pales. The colour scheme and flowers chosen here are of the more classy varieties. White roses, black roses, and green foliage. This isn't a rainbow flower kind of store. Unfortunately I caught her low on stock on my visit, so I could not see the whole store full. But, if what she had in the store was what was left, well.... I love this florist! Louise is just absolutely lovely and is obviously amazing at what she does. She spent time talking about her business and why she loves it. If you have a special occasion coming up or just want to decorate your home with a modern bunch, visit this store.

So let's talk about how I love this place so much. The shop is always so lovely with all the fresh flowers, well, needless to say haha. And Louise always arrange them in such a lovely way and it's such an enjoyment walking into the shop, just bloomy, colourful, fresh and stylish!!! Their flowers are really high quality and long lasting. They have the best long stem roses and so many kinds! Louise and her assistants:) are very experienced and they listen to the customer on their budgets, occasion, and give advice on what kind of flowers to use. I trust Louise and her shop. She always works her magic in making WOW flowers for me within seconds!! My home has been colourful and classy since I visit this shopLOVE! If it is still the same as before... They have new flowers coming in every Wednesday and Thursday. I always try to visit on Thursdays:) or just wander past the shop to enjoy the beautiful "garden"!

When I see something beautiful cut up and brought inside to be sold as a commodity I can get a little distracted by the loss of life it has suffered because obviously it will die now, well soon. But then when I see the joy something like a bunch of flowers can bring to a person who is unwell or feeling unloved... I guess the reality is that even if they were not cut off their 'home bush' the flowers would eventually wither and die anyway; so I'm just a big softie I suppose. Or soft in the head probably more accurate. The Central Market Flowers stall or shop is run by Peter and always has a beautiful collection of blooms and often some truly gorgeous Australian natives as well. The prices are pretty fair and the displays are usually quite stunning when they are pre packaged in some sort of arrangement. The bunches usually go for a decent price and are mot mingy by any standard, so even though it can get me a little sad sometimes when I see so much beauty cut off from its life source, I do fully appreciate the joy and beauty they bring to people who are in need of such a lift as they provide.

Unlike supermarket flowers, which seem to be dead by the next day. They also take orders for things like weddings, or whatever occasion you have where you need to buy flowers (or maybe your just one of those guys who likes to buy their ladies flowers). Now located a few shops down the Regent Arcade from their Renew Adelaide pop-up, the store has settled in and the Arcade's vibe suits it well. Stocking the hand poured Zuki & Boo soy candles in some truly delectable scents, this is my primary reason for swinging by. I'm a real lover of a 'natural' smelling candle (as opposed to the saccharine qualities many other scented candles give off) and this stock is top notch. Available is different glass jar sizes and also available poured in a tea cup (with the saucer to match), they make great presents for yourself or others. My current fave is Bergamot & Banksia but the Coffee Bean is just right to get your day started (I work night shift so burning candles after waking is perfectly acceptable at 6pm!). Check the candle 'menu' for some potential favourites and the staff can let you know when they become available (or pour some for you). The store also has a beautiful array of posies and floral arrangements with the ladies happy to create a floral arrangement to your colour palette or floral taste for an excellent price, however I can never go past the gorgeous bouquets often sitting in the store front (and often so cheap!). Succulents at various stages of growth and in an array of pots plus terrariums can be picked up and once again, all very reasonably priced. Other assorted soft furnishings are available, cushions and throws, as well as some stationery and assorted homewares. A great place to find a gift for yourself. I'm a fan.

It's like a florist for the young and funky where you can grab terrerium pieces planted into clever little pots, glasses, teapots and large jars. Being a fiend for cacti and succulents I went absolutely bananas over the place and was stoked the owner shared my enthusiasm for her awesome little shop! There was so much I wanted to buy but budget limitations meant I just left with a large jar with some little leafy babies inside for the bargain price of $45 (so little considering it has five little varieties included). VERY well priced and lovely woman I want to come back and grab a teapot with some scented candles next time I'm in town for sure so please leave me one haha... so make sure to check it out!

When I moved into the city near the Central Markets I had this secret fantasy that I would pick up…read morea fresh bunch of flowers every weekend and arrange them in my home. Unfortunately after $20 dropped at Bunches one Saturday afternoon, I realised I couldn't keep up this Eliza Doolittle charade financially or creatively for very long. The service at Bunches is pretty thin, but they will make you some recommendations if you um and ah annoyingly long enough. The weekend "sell off" prices are not bad either at around $9-12 for a bunch of the basics (lilies, daisies etc). Arguably though, I can get the same for a little bit extra elsewhere and have the bunches arranged for me. The range is less than Central Market Flowers around the corner but the prices are slightly cheaper and the flowers do last at least a week and a bit indoors.

It really is a bit of a treasure trove of hand made 'fair trade' nick nacks, clothes and the odd bit of furnature, definately worth a look...but be warned, you will probably end up buying something whether you need it or not!

The global village is a pretty cool hippie store in the central markets…read more Lots of the products for sale here are sourced directly from local crafts people in developing countries. The owners of the store also contribute towards several community projects in developing countries, largely Nepal and East Timor. In stock is the complete get up you will need to fit in, in any drum circle, a bunch of home wares are more nick nacks and paddy whacks than you can poke a stick at. Some of the craft work is really fine and, although much more expensive than if you were to buy direct, some of your contribution will still reach developing communities in the end. Of particular interest are hand painted vietnamese bamboo doors and curtains and also, my favorite, the singing bowl.

The products have a 'homogenised' feel ... nothing stands out, everything is in the same colour tones, nothing is too bright or too brilliant. But what I do like about this place is that they stock local artists and designers. The only issue is they are the *same* artists and designers that can be found at Bowerbird Bazaar, That Dapper Market, and various other shops and cafes around Adelaide. Saying that, it is great to have a gift store to grab that little something that can't be found in a department store and know that you are supporting Adelaide businesses. I'm just a bit disappointed that they don't have a 'point of difference' at all - it will be great if they decide to branch out in future and take a few more risks!

This is a great…read moregift shop with heaps of really amazing carved wood and lots of other stuff, but it's the carved wood that is featured. Giant critters of all kinds. I was originally attracted to the big spiders for hanging on the wall, because they are kind of unusual and not so real they'd freak you out; upon closer inspection the shop is crammed full of all sorts of really wonderful odds and sods. Bangles, beads, book ends, wall hangings, candle sticks, sarongs, bags, a few baskets; all pretty much imported stuff from all over the place. Not too expensive and a great variety of things. African carvings and probably Indonesian, Indian, some Australian as well, I've been in several time and still see stuff I didn't notice the first and last time, if you get what I mean. It is a family business (as in wife and husband), so you can rely on them if you are looking for something unusual to help you out - they know their stock pretty well and since so much of it is wood they do a fair amount of polishing and keeping things fresh. I really like wood so I really enjoy having a look through this shop. Some items are quite small and then they vary in size through to really large features objects like elephants and giraffes. Its fun browsing and hard to visit without seeing something you want to take home, so be warned!
