I took quotes for some a number of plumbing issues with my new house. I made an appointment and…read moreAccent was right on time for the walk through process. Accent came in as the middle quote, which was a fair price, so we decided to go with them. The plan was a new gas line run into the kitchen, new kitchen sink, disposal and faucet installed and some additional minor plumbing work. Accent was more than willing to work with us and let us bring in our own products for these installations. So, outside of the gas line, I was only paying for their time. The Accent employees (2) that came to do the work, were nice, courteous and on time. During the installation there was a problem with the new kitchen sink that I had purchased at the home improvement store. When dry-fitted, the new sink would not fit into the hole where the old sink came from (even though it was the same size). No problem, I'll run down and get different one. While I left the house to get the new sink, the plumbers just moved onto another project (the gas line). There was NO WAITING for me to return. When I returned, the new, new sink had the same issue. No problem, just re-install the old sink, new disposal and new faucet and we'll call it good. They did just that. After the the sink, disposal and faucet was installed, the two plumbers disappeared for an hour a noon. I was told they "needed to go and get a part". Eventually they returned and the remaining work was completed. Here is where things go south. When we ran the dishwasher for the first time, we notice that the dirty water is pooled in the bottom of the dishwasher. I did some troubleshooting and realized (Problem #1) that the plumbers failed to remove the plug on the new disposal that allows the dishwasher to drain into the sink plumbing. I tried to knock out the plug but was unable. I called Accent and they came back over the next day and fixed the issue. The gas line was installed and works as it should. However, (Problem #2) I still have an un-patched hole in the sheetrock that was never addressed after the installation. Additionally, (Problem #3) the hole where the gas line come up through the floor, the gas pipe was not secured to the floor. So the gas pipe moves around, loosely (vertically and laterally), in the hole when working on the connection. A loose gas line is what I've always wanted in my house! The gas line work originated in an unfinished part of my basement. When the Accent workers were working in the basement, with the gas, they opened a window. I imagine this was to vent some of the escaped gas out of the house. No problem, I understand. Because of its location and the fact that my family doesn't go in that room a lot, we didn't realize that the window had been opened. However, the plumbers failed to close the window and it remained open through a bitter cold and blustery snow storm (Problem #4). When the gas needed to be shut off to complete the install, both of our hot water heaters went out. (Problem #5). The plumbers failed to relight either water heater or the fireplace. So, cold showers the next morning. Eventually I received the final bill. I was absolutely shocked that the bill was "considerably" more than the original estimate. I naively believed there was a mix-up and called the office (Call #1) to talk to someone. I talked with an exceptionally nice receptionist who left a message for the manager (or owner, I don't know). A few days later, with no call back, I called again (call #2). This time the receptionist told me that I had to pay for the 2 sinks that were "installed", the time I left the project site to go and buy another sink (however, the never any work stopped, they just worked on a different part of the project until I returned) AND for the time the plumbers left to "go get a needed part" (aka - lunch). I found this explanation unacceptable, why should I pay for something that effectively I am already paying for and I am certainly not paying for their lunch hour. I asked to talk with the owner/manager and was told to expect his call. A few days later and still with an outstanding balance, still no call from anyone at Accent (SHOCKING, I know, right?) Are you starting to see the problem? I call back (Call #3). I get the same run around, "he'll call you back". Again, a few days later and now an even later bill, I call back (Call #4). I get the same thing, he will call you back. Well guess what...... HE NEVER CALLED ME BACK. So I paid the bill. Figuring, if this clown will not call me back to have a civil conversation to explain his companies' bill, he would be the kind of personality to send the bill to collections or file a lean against my house. Here's my lesson, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! There are plenty of helpful, qualified, customer-service oriented plumbing companies in Cheyenne. Accent IS NOT ONE OF THOSE COMPANIES. Yelp will not let you give a 0-star rating. For what its worth, don't use Accent Plumbing.
