So recently when I had another major plumbing issue, I felt devastated but Steve and Daniel went above and beyond. I'm so astonished on how piss poor service this company offers. Let's start with day one February 10th I call and explain to them that my mainline is backed up and I already ran a 100' cable through the clean out and didn't hit anything and I also stated very clearly that I have a business that I am running without bathrooms for me my employees and customers. So they told me it's going to be an emergency call and an emergency trip charge even though I called at 11:00 am. I didn't argue or complain I told them to come out and they said that their technician would call when he was on his way to which was no surprise that I didn't receive a phone call. So they show up with only a 100' drain machine and no cord no screw driver no hand tools borrowing my tools. I told the plumber I already ran 100' cable through the clean out did you bring extra cable? He said no I'm going to try my machine . With no surprise they have to leave for over an hour and get a different machine with longer cable!!! They finally show up and try with this new machine and cable for a very short time and telling me that I need a sewer scope. I said schedule me for that please and he said we will be back out on Tuesday the 14th between 12:00 and 2:00 and then surprise no one showed up or called after calling them they told me Wednesday 12:00 to 2:00. So they finally tell me how bad the weather is outside and how they can't see anything and that they would come out when the weather permits. So I wait and call them Monday February 20th and talk to Jessica and she said I don't know what's going on but I will have the Plumbing Supervisor call you back. Hey everyone guess what with no surprise today is February 28th WITHOUT A PHONE CALL AND STILL WITHOUT BATHROOMS!!!! This is the only company I have ever reviewed. I deleted the first review to give them a chance at redemption, and they definitely failed to redeem themselves. They didn't even try. We have a gas fire place that is broken. We would like to use it during winter but thanks to Marvs, that won't happen. This has been on going for 3 months now and it's been nothing but lie after lie, excuse after excuse. They cancel appointments without telling anyone and claim they never scheduled, yet I have corespondance indicating otherwise. Maybe I should charge them for time missed from work, they would do it to me if I missed. Chris Ivey is an idiot, per his own admission, "guessed" what was wrong with our fire place, without even taking it apart. He then again, per his own admission, ordered the guessed part. He said it was a valve. Thats pure laziness. I hope you don't make it a habit out of "guessing", charging for a part that someone doesn't need, is fraud. Auto mechanics get in trouble for it all the time. When they came over to actually take a look at it this time, they didn't bring the alleged valve. Why wouldn't they bring the valve if they we're so sure? The guy that came over to the house to fix it was rude and said some questionable things that makes me wonder if he knows what he's doing. There actions throughout the whole thing also makes me wonder. He too, ordered a part, he said it will be in, in two weeks. It has yet to come in, months later? I have to call them and ask them the status, they will NOT communicate with you, even if they tell you they will. When I do call, they don't answer, 24 hour service is a lie. They claim the parts are on back order, yet I have used the same company and have never had that issue, neither has anyone else I know. Covid is over, we can't use that as an excuse anymore. If there truly is such a problem with parts, maybe change suppliers? I work outside of the states with no civilization for thousands of miles, yet it takes me less then 2 weeks to get anything I need. How Is Marvs getting such a delay then? Any other company says they can do it in 2 weeks, not 3 months. I try and and call discuss the matter before taking further actions, because a paid project has yet to be fixed, with no end in site, and I keep getting the run around. The General Manager, Ryan Rich, hides behind everyone else. He won't return phone calls and delegates to Chris, the problem. Smart business move there bud, no wonder this company sucks. Clearly, your not the brightest bulb in the box. I have asked for the paper work and they refuse to give it to me stating "I don't understand why you need it". Wouldn't be a big deal if they weren't hiding something. I paid for a service, i expect it to get done in a reasonable amount of time, as would anyone. There is no communication within the company. They made four trips to our house over a 7 day span, took a long time to respond when we called and never solved the problem.

The front office was kind and re-worked the schedule to get us in without paying after hours. The plumber was able to do the actual plumbing competently. The plumber also let my dogs out. This resulted in one of my dogs dying and the other being sick. Like many people I'm a little too attached to my dogs, and I am very angry with Marv's for the lack of respect they have shown to my home and those who live here. I have been a Marv's customer for 20 years, but honestly if this how they behave in my home, I am not a Marv's customer anymore. Not even sure where to begin. but in a nut shell, very unprofessional businesses practices. Not sure why they set appointments they dont keep them (twice). Then when they say they will call you back there is never a call. I had to call them to be told that the tech is out of range and wouldnt be coming/ on an install why set an appointment if there not gonna keep it. The original tech that came to my house released freon in the air, and then said I had to reschedule toget more freon??? WOW !!!! Buyer used Marv's to inspect the home. If you want to have the Seller kill the deal - use Marv's. Nickel and dime and feathering their own nest for miniscule issues, plus charge an additional fee to show up and some bogus minimum amount for each estimate???? We had a sewage backup on Saturday and it was the start of the Labor day weekend and Marv's sent someone out within an hour of the issue. The person they sent out was Troy and he was awesome. He recognized the issue and stayed with us until the flow was restored. The issue was caused by a construction company accidently pouring concreat into the main sewage line in a manhole on the street. I would use Marv's for any plumbing needs I need for now on. read more

I fully understand a weekend service call out charge... fine. But when the actual issue took all of 12 seconds to fix on the furnace why not chalk up some good customer service and say something like "took me 2 mins to fix no big deal, I'll just charge you the call out fee". Not charge another 100 dollars for something that took almost zero time to fix. That's how you get repeat customers. Thanks for the wasted 100 bucks though... much appreciated. My experience was they oversold and overpriced. We are selling our home and the buyer selected Marv's Plumbing and Heating to do the plumbing and heating inspection. Marv's inspection recommended that the furnace be replaced and suggested at 96% single stage high energy unit at a whopping $4,200! Shocked by the price I called two companies that specialize in furnaces. I told them we are selling our home and gave them the necessary details and asked for the recommendation for a furnace. Both said it was a no brainer in this situation - a 80% high energy single stage furnace at a estimated price of $2,100- $2,500!! The reason a 96% unit isn't necessary is - by upgrading and spending the additional money its the future homeowner that will reap the benefit in 6-7 years of lower heating bills. But note, their costs for a 96% unit. installed was $3,200. I recommend: Advanced Air Systems or The Furnace Shop. read more

I had an 8am appointment for a backed up main sewer line. Finally at 9:45 someone showed up, no calls to inform me of running late. The workers who did show up did not have what they needed so went back to the shop. Over 2 hours later, no calls or no show. I called them for a 3rd time and they informed me that they didn't have what they needed to complete the job. Absolutely unacceptable communication. I wasted an entire day and no work was actually done, and I received zero phone calls as to what was going on. I'll never go there again and recommend anyone not waste their time. read more

I contacted this place today, I have been in search of a awkward shower drain. I have already cut open the drywall and removed the old leaky drain. I have looked all over town and cant seem to find this awkward drain. I was really just looking for a place to buy the drain I can replace it myself. So I was thinking since they were a plumbing place I could get a drain from them and easy peasy would have my drain fixed no problem. When I asked about buying the drain from them they told me they were moving away from that. That they wouldn't have it anyway. I then asked, what if I had you guys come out and fix it.. They said we could do that no problem. Would be a week or so out though. So instead of selling me the drain I need to fix my issue ASAP, they want me to wait a week or so plus however long it would take them to order this awkward drain and then charge me lots of money when I could just fix it myself. When asked if they could point me in the right direction as to where i could buy a drain they told me they don't know where to buy drains. So I would steer away from these greedy people. Totally unable to help someone out. Just worried about ripping people off I guess. I would give a zero star rating if I could. They used to sell plumbing parts and help people what what I recall. This is not so any more. Be prepared to wait and be charged a lot for a simple fix you can get a handy man to do in a day or two for way cheaper. read more

I have called to find out what is going on with the part and unfortunately get no positive response since the old front desk person no longer works there, as I was told "there is no information on that part". Do yourself a favor and don't ever use this company to do your inside plumbing work. The first time they came out, after the job was done, the plumbing leaked. It took two days for another plumber to come out and he was so argumentative, I told him to leave. He changed his attitude and fixed the leak, but another leak sprung from the first plumber's job and now I am faced with having to replace not only all the plumbing, but I now have to hire a carpenter to repair all the damage that was done by the first plumber's second leak. We schedule it and they show up as scheduled without the hot water heater, so they leave for another hour to get it??? Had to call them to remind, them of my schedule time, he came out and started the work which should have taken two hours he stretched it to three because it was the end of the day, he kept going back to his truck to get tools, he also went back to the shop, at the end of his work he quoted me one price, but when I check my bill it was $50.00 more I never received a bill with the amount of charges so I could know what I was being charged. We had a collapsed sewer pipe in our front yard that was found during a home inspection. We were reluctant to go with Marv's due to so many negative reviews, but they did an awesome job. The excavation crew (Cody, Corey, and Cole) were outstanding! Marv's is dishonest and do their best to cheat you. They will tell you that parts are bad or need to be replaced when they are perfectly fine. Sometimes they won't even looking at them but say they are bad. We are selling our house and the buyer selected Marv's to do the inspection and they said that the HVAC filter was bad and needed to be replaced for like $75. However we had replaced that same filter the week before and it was brand new. When we caught them on this they acted like it was no big deal and just removed it from the inspection. They are extremely dishonest and will take advantage of people selling homes to make an extra buck. Don't trust them, there are also local real estate agents who won't use them for these same reasons. Put these people in their place and refuse to use their service, someone has to stand up to them. I hope to see them shut down and in prison for fraud someday. read more

The technician from Marv's plumbing and heating failed to diagnose my furnace problem and left us without heat on a bitterly cold night. He claimed that I needed a new furnace and gave me exorbitant estimates to replace the parts he claimed were broken and tried to sell me a new furnace. The defective parts he claimed needed replaced did not need to be replaced. The other heating contractor (Mr. B's)I called the next day spent five minutes and figured out that a tube was clogged with bugs and had my furnace working with no replacement parts. I feel like Marv's Plumbing and Heating tried to scam me into buying a new furnace that I did not need. I will never call them again for work. read more

My furnace wouldn't fire on the Friday of Xmas week-end. I called Marv's Plumbing for a service call, they showed up promptly, and spent 2.5 hrs screwing up the wiring and frying 2 transformers. I was told the furnace was too old to be repaired and that I would have to get a new one...(they could finance). Then they left us in the cold. After running to Walmart to buy 2 space heaters to try and stay warm over the very cold Xmas holiday, I called Martinez Plumbing. Eloy showed up first, and began the repairs but had other calls to go on. Then Lloyd came by to finish the work. By 5:30 my furnace was running fine. He had to re-wire everything Marv's loused up, and our furnace has been running fine since then. This review is not only a big Kudos to Lloyd and Martinez, but a big shout to avoid Marv's at all costs. Marv's charged me over $250 to shaft me, and Martinez was only slightly more to actually fix what Marv's did. I expect to wind up in court now because Marv's wants to be paid. We were looking at buying a house, so we got a plumbing inspection done. They said everything was fine except a few minor things. The sellers fixed the reported problems and we bought the house. Now, two months later we are having to replace almost everything because there are so many problems. $850 later and I'm not very happy. DO NOT USE MARV'S PLUMBING! They do not stand behind their work! At the suggestion of Marv's employee, we purchased a kitchen faucet on our own (he told me Marv's didn't have a good selection of kitchen faucets). We had him install the faucet and had to call him back within 2 weeks to fix it. The faucet head would not stay where I placed it and it would return to the center on its own. He placed a weight on the spray hose as the "fix". It didn't work. When the Covid-19 pandemic occurred, I didn't call Marv's to fix the ongoing problem. On June 17, 2020, I called Marv's to fix the faucet. Their employee Identified the issue and and found a part kit online for $1.50. He said he would have to order it and charge $109.00 labor. The problem with the faucet was a missing ring on the bearing. The original employee did not install that ring, so I asked the office staff to waive the labor fee because of the initial faulty installation. They refused because the 6 month labor warranty expired in June 11, 2020. They refused the consider the fact that we didn't allow anyone into our home during the Covid-19 pandemic. Marv's didn't do a thorough inspection of my house in the pre-sale inspections and didn't discover there was a gas leak until after I closed. Then they took 9 days to repair the leak. THEN they refused to apologize for their mistakes in the inspection and billed me full price. The former homeowner and I worked it out so we each paid a small portion, but the owner of Marv's refused to accept responsibility for their errors. They also sent me an invoice whining about how they lost $400 since November on this job. Boo-freaking-hoo. They employ dozens of people and have half a dozen or more trucks, I think they're doing ok. If they'd done the inspection right in the first place, they could have collected the FULL amount of the repair costs. That's their JOB, to inform the home owner of their options during inspections. If one method isn't an option (a sniff test) to detect a leak, the homeowner or buyer should be informed of other methods Don't have your home inspected by Marv's unless you specifically request a pressure test on the gas lines and then watch them do it. read more

Marv's plumbing installed a garbage disposal for a friend of mine who is blind. Her invoice had a charge of 2 hours of labor on it. She said that they installed the garbage disposal in less than 1 hour. They also charged her $140 for a Badger 1 (1/3 horse power) garbage disposal that you can buy at Lowe's for $85. When the garbage disposal quit working, I called Robert, the owner/manager, who said that he would not fix the garbage disposal for free and would not do anything about the overcharge. She will never use Marv's again. read more
