The food was so delicious we went back twice for lunch. Our first day we had the Greek Salad,…read moreMoussaka, and the whole grilled Sea Bream. Everything was so tasty and of course the houmous with warm pita is a must. Our second lunch we had the Specialite de ma grand-mere (roasted lamb shank with figs) which melted in your mouth, it was so tender. The chicken kabobs and Spanakopita were tasty, however the pork kabobs lacked flavor and were very tough. The staff and especially Leila were lovely and attentive and gave us a little glass of Ouzo to finish. If your looking for a homey atmosphere and authentic Greek cuisine, La Crete is the place!

From the…read moremoment we walked in and were greeted like family to the end of the meal, we felt so welcomed. We found La Crete on TripAdvisor and decided to stop in due to the great reviews. We checked Yelp of course and saw they were great here as well. To begin, we ordered hummus and immediately dug into the hummus that was absolute perfection. The pita bread they served it with was grilled and had some herbs on it as well...delicious!! We told the server, I think was one of the owners, the hummus was amazing and he brought us a little bit more. We all ordered skewers with baked potato, salad and tzatziki and we all loved it. The amazing service continued throughout the meal and when baklava was suggested we decided...why not? I'm not usually a fan of baklava because it is most likely made with walnuts or pecans and I hate both of those. This baklava was made with pistachios and was so very yummy. Again...perfection!! We made plans to return the following night and our trip on the Seine river went too long and we had to leave without getting another chance to return. Although this made us sad, we still felt very fortunate to have had the chance to eat here once. If you have the chance...eat here! I recommend it without hesitation!!

I want to thank this place for opening up my palette to Greek cuisine. Do not miss out on this place. Best service from staff-- they took the time to explain the menu and specials to us. If you love Greek food, fabulous service, great drinks and inspired cooking then this is the place for you. I had a Greek spritz (my new fav drink!) to start with and we then ordered about 4 or 5 plates. Everything is to share. We had a feta dish, dolmas, a lamb dish and these little beignets that were out of this world. For dessert, we had an incredible baklava. Service was 20 stars. The guy helping us had perfect English. My French is pretty lacking and my husband's is worse. Not only did he make us feel welcome but he patiently translated the menu for us. He was friendly and well informed. The other servers were very nice as well! We have a bunch more reservations at different places over the next week but I'm seriously thinking of canceling 1 so we can come back to Etsi. Thank you to our server, the chef and staff for a truly fantastic dinner and memorable evening.

This place is HEAVEN…read more If I didn't have to count service, they'd get 5 stars. We were really hungry and so excited to find this establishment. Everything looked so amazing, we really had a hard time deciding what to get. Tomato, Onion, Cucumber & Feta Salad (Two Orders) Octopus Salad Vegetarian Stuffed Eggplant Spinach Puff Pastry Stuffed Squid My favorite was the octopus salad, feta cheese salad and vegetarian stuffed eggplant. Everything had really great fresh flavor. The stuffed squid was good, but had more rice filling than I prefer. The spinach puff pastry would be best served right out of the oven, but it had been sitting out for awhile. In addition to prepared foods and salads, they also have grocer items, olives, cheeses and a variety of nuts and bulk items. The prices are based on weight. Overall reasonable since the quality is good. The reason I wasn't pleased with the service is for the following reasons: 1. The employee was very cold immediately upon walking in. 2. Our non-French friend who is currently residing in France, married to a French native and has been learning the language for some time interpreted for us and did all the ordering. The employee was a little critical of how she pronounced things and it really irked me. Also, our friend called the spinach cheese puff pastry (which we are familiar with it being Spanakopita) and she corrected us in a very rude way. 3. The shop was not closed, nor was it going to be closed anytime soon. They have several tables in the back dining room. Nothing fancy, just basic tables and chairs. She wouldn't allow us to sit at the tables to eat our food. She said it was only for "lunch" and at this point it was a little past lunch. Like 2ish. We found this a little odd since no one was occupying the tables. So instead we had to walk around the neighborhood with our bags of food until we could find a bench or table to sit at. Also silly, because we ended up spending so much here. If, I am ever in the area again. I would love to be able to try their spicy octopus salad. I regretted not getting it this time around!

I went here over lunch one day and was surprised to see a queue of people wrapped around the corner from the door. Honestly I was shocked to see both businessmen and women as well as teenagers all lined up to get one of these tasty sandwiches. The options are pretty standard, you can choose one of one type of meat, that would be chicken. Then you've got the standard salad, tomato and onion. I took everything and then paid and left. The sandwich itself was excellent, they are using the real Greek pita bread as well as some special yogurt which has to come from Greece. The meat also tasted exactly like you'll find on the islands or the mainland. Overall I'm very impressed and glad I had a chance to eat here.

The Saganaki was delicious as always. Delicious hummus and baba-ghanoush. Everything was fresh, especially the tabouleh and the menu's were in English which was very helpful for us as tourists. The wait staff didn't speak English very well, but we managed to get by. They were very friendly and polite. Cute little neighborhood/area it's located in. Had we gone a little earlier we would've explored more, but it got dark quick and most establishments including the patissiere near by, were already closed.
