I am always amazed how no matter what kind of restaurant you visit in Paris, the food is almost always stellar. Even the most simplest thing. Good vibe here and I loved the patio. Yes you can get curry wurst.,. :D There is often a crowd inside and out after 9pm or so - especially towards the end of the week so go earlier if you are with friends and want a place to sit down. The clientele are pretty cool generally speaking: intellectual / hipster / local professionals. They also make some solid cocktails at a reasonable price. We sat outside at one of their small table on the street. It reminded me of eating street foods in Asia; except this is in Paris. Service was good but could be better if they can explain us what to order on their menu. I liked the Burrata which was creamy with tangy salad and anchovies. It was a great appetizer for us. Charcuterie came with a paper box in to-go or take-out style. It had variety of cured meat slices. Meats had good flavors, textures, tastes from salty to spicy and tangy from lemon slices. It was good to pair with Burrata. Recommend this place in Paris!

Food: 4.5/5 Service: 4.5/5…read moreAmbiance: 3.5/5 I needed to have a charcuterie at least once in Paris and found this place while roaming in the city. They have few small tables out front. Charcuterie did come with good presentation like wood board or anything but it was a good portion. I didn't read the menu closely and ordered charcuterie as soon as saw it. I wanted to have some cheese with it. I should have ordered assiette royale which comes with both meat and cheese. I also ordered Andrea which comes with burrata. It was great with salad and lemon shavings but anchovies were pretty salty. I suggest to eat it with some kind of bread. Between that two orders, I was stuffed and couldn't even finish it. Honestly it was meant for 3 to 4 people. One of the employees speak English and she was very nice. Overall experience was great and good spot to hang out.

I've come to believe that they start when they're ready to work, which at Les Bols de Jean it's 11:45am. However they did allow me to wait inside until the girl is ready to take orders. When she's ready, I ordered: 1) chicken coconut curry with pineapple!!! Thick pieces of chicken, light coconut flavour, soft curry taste, and sweet pineapple together. Turned out to be sooooo good together with the bread. Without the bread it's pretty boring! 2) ground beef with creamy creamy creamy bechamel gratinée, eggplants that actually didn't destroy the soup (I don't like eggplants so I'm sensitive to the taste), sweet onions. This also taste really good with the bread! The buns are freshly baked each morning and delivered from the bakery of Eric Kayser. The menu changes daily. That explains all the preparation they do in the morning thus not being able to take orders. Both soups were made to taste perfect with the toasty bun. The soft crispy bread definitely makes a difference!! It completes the creamy thick soup SO MUCH. It's not a runny liquid soup as I thought. It's more like a bread bowl with lightly flavoured and creamy sauce. Together it's really good. Staff is on and off nice. Generally nice people! Customers are not nice.

Yay!) I had the tomato & ricotta bowl (€8, veggie) and the beef chef bowl (€13 - a kind of hachis parmentier). I liked the veggie one better, but that's down to personal preference - my boyfriend enjoyed the beef. Only downside: they don't offer all their desserts in delivery, only fruits - and my €3.50 apple and pear compote was not great, too sugary and not homemade.

One whole side of the restaurant is an open-kitchen where you can see the lovely kitchen team roasting, baking, pureeing, juicing and mixing things up right in front of you. The menu has just three dishes, three rice bowls in vegetarian, meat or fish versions, all for approx 8€ and a bunch of yummy baked goods and fresh-squeezed juices. I ordered the chicken and rice bowl that was super satisfying and healthy with a very memorable beet purée that was just divine. My one critique was that it was a little under-seasoned, so be sure to add some soy sauce or salt to perk things up. I'll definitely come back when craving some inexpensive, healthy grub in an airy, laid back environment.
