The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

The worst part was the bread in the soup. It tasted stale which ruin the flavor of the soup. I had to finish without the bread. Escargot - Another disappointment. What made escargots special was the garlic butter and herb. Here, there were the herbs, no garlic, and French is famous with their butter but I taste oil but not buttery. Other places I actually get excited dipping the bread into the garlic butter but not here. Pan seared Foie gras - The quality of Foie Gras was definitely there. It's not as well seared as I hope but they managed to cook it through without overcooking it. The size of Foie Gras is kind of scary, it's like a small piece of rib eye steak. With just the onion soup and Foie Gras, I could barely swallow anything. Generous portion.

We went up and down the escalator scouting things out, but almost every spot with seating was overrun on a Saturday afternoon. We ended up at an okay pan-Asian spot called Rice Street between lunch and dinner service, getting boba and sheltering from the chaos. I went two days in a row on my more recent trip to Paris, first for a Glace BACHIR pop-up, and then to get an easy on-the-go lunch before getting sucked into the broader maw of the main Galeries Lafayette. They allow one group at a time into the shop for a fully curated Jamon Beurre experience. Yep, that is all you can get here. Ham sandwiches, but it's a much more involved experience than that. When you walk in, there is an entire wall with a cooler displaying every kind of ham possible. You have to pick whether you want cured or just baked ham. What region? They offer Italian, French, Spanish and then you have to narrow it down to the region! Then you do the same with the cheese. I ended up getting two sandwiches, the cured ham from Spain's basque country paired with Ossau-Iraty, or basque sheep milk cheese. My other sandwich was a French baked ham sandwich with comte. Which was the winner? I have to say, the cured meat from Spain was out of this world and in our taste test, was the top winner. I know, I shouldn't say that in France!
