A must go in Lille's suburb. I quite take a welsh there…read morebecause it's the best I've ever tasted around here. The welsh is a northern French speciality made with a slice of bread soaked into beer with ham on it, all covered with melted cheddar and an egg on it. This comes with salad and French fries. They propose one different meal every day and the menu is full of northern French specialities that are all temptations! Staff is very friendly and always have a word for the customers. The atmosphere is very great and makes your feel as a family. There's also a lot of humor everywhere (tables, toilets, decorations) that just finishes the job perfectly :-) I would more than warmly recommend this place.

Another Belgium place I got to try for some Belgian food…read more We couldn't decide what to order and ended up getting 3 entrees, which was way too much because the portions were so big. We ordered the beef stew, pork knuckle, and rabbit stew. Everything was delicious! And everything came with potatoes! We sat outside and had to put our drinks on the floor (all good!). Staff was very nice. Good thing we came right when they opened. After we were seated a line started forming.

One of the best diing experiences we had in Brussels! The food was great and the service was…read moreoutstanding. Huge shoutout to Julian! He reminded us of a combination of Neil Fak (from The Bear) and Lazlow (from What We Do in the Shadows). He was coordinating the line, seating, and gave outstanding recommendations, as well as praise, when we picked our wine. We were quoted about 45 minutes to wait, as they don't take reservations. A two-top opened up inside and Julian was concerned that it would be too hot, so he made me go inside to check first. Thankfully, it was right by the open area leading to outside, so we took it and were seated in about 20 minutes, rather than 45. The place was packed the entire time we were there; its reputation certainly precedes it. Good energy and beautifully decorated with stunning art inside. Carbonades a la Biere (beef stew; 19.45 Euros) is their speciality and was delicious! So reasonably priced for the flavor and te size of the dish! After Julian mentioned that the lamb is the best dish on the menu, there was no question that I was ordering it. Jarret d'Agneau Roti (Roasted Lamb Shank; 27.35 Euros) was so very good! Full of Rosemary and so tender! As Julian was running by, I quickly asked him: "Tiramisu or Tarte Tatin?" No hesitation, he replied, "Tarte Tatin." I wasn't sure if he actually put the order in for us or not, but then it arrived at our table and it was delicious! Pear Tarte (8.65 Euros) with a side of ice cream. Not too sweet, with lovely spices in the pears. Cash only, always a line, but totally worth it!

Located in the Hornu shopping center/"strip mall", this seems to be the only place there to eat…read more That's OK though, because this place isn't bad at all. We stopped by today, having been shopping, and sat outside in the tropical Belgian sunshine and had a couple of St Fleuillien beers and some food. I had a roasted chicken sandwich on a baguette/French bread and my lovely wife had a panini Parmigiana, with the main ingredient being egg plant. Yeah, a chicken sandwich isn't hard to do and it was basic; nicely roasted chicken and a nice spreading of mayo, along with a little bit of salad on the plate. Hey, I really liked it! The Parmigiana was enjoyed too and she even let me taste hers. I'm getting that next time! Cannot say much about inside because I just glanced through the window. It looked clean and spacious. Best of all, the waiters were very attentive and didn't seem to make anybody wait long for their food, drinks and then bill.

I visited this small restaurant this week with family and decided to order salmon for myself and veal for my two-year old... I shared with him and cannot tell you which of the two dishes I liked better... they were both soooo nice! The salmon came with a cauliflower sauce and a variety of fresh and very tasty vegetables. The veal had a wonderful sauce with purée and vegetables. It's not that we hadn't eaten well for a while... on the contrary... but for all of us this was our highlight of the past week food wise... Enjoy! I'll be glad to eat there again if in the area.
