Enviable location on the town square. Solid reputation for consistently good food. The Sunday steak frites menu is good value. It is Verbier, so expect to pay more than elsewhere. But you always get a good meal.
I have eaten here dozens of times. The pasta dishes are good, sometimes excellent chicken. Family-run: the owner cooks and the wife comes to the table. It is often crowded, as all the locals love both the ambiance and the bourgeois style cooking.
Very limited outdoor space, where anyway you are right on the road for the buses and dump trucks. Very cramped inside, as everywhere in Verbier, space being at a premium. The good thing is there is no pretense and although not cheap it is not a rip off, like so many other Verbier tourist traps.
You can get almost the same quality food at considerably less cost just a few metres away at Chez Martin, a larger place with a more cost-conscious clientele.
If you go often the staff at the Ecurie will remember you. It is a very 'sympa' place and you never come away dissatisfied, though you are unlikely to be excited either. I would say the food is just as good as at La Grange, another family-run establishment a few hundred metres down the street, where you are likely to pay twice as much. read more
