I am new to Manchester and was relying on Yelp to help me find my new hair salon. I came across…read morethis salon and decided to give them a try. I first reached out via their Yelp page to inquire about an appointment. They were super responsive even during the days they were closed. You do have to place a credit card on file when you make your appointment. They also contacted me a few hours prior to let me know the hairstylist was available if I'd like to come in sooner which I greatly appreciated. Upon walking in, I was greeted immediately and after completing the new client forms, I was offered a refreshment. I went with red wine and was so surprised at this kindness. My hairstylist was Lindsay and she was AWESOME. She asked me questions and double checked with me on everything she was doing. I ended up going for a drastic cut and she made me feel very reassured about my choice. You get a discount too for it being your first time! Already looking forward to going back for my next trim.

I have a wedding this weekend and didn't know what to do. Got a last minute appointment with Jen and I am so thrilled I did. I was just looking for my hair to not be as yellow, since I didn't think anyone could fix it in one appointment. Jen took out the yellow tiger stripes and blotchy spots, and gave me the most beautiful and natural looking highlights. My hair has dimension and is super shiny again. Seriously, she worked some magic :) I'm so happy I finally found a salon in CT! And the prices here are super reasonable. I should note, Ashley is fabulous as well. My mom has been seeing her for a few months and her hair always looks amazing when she gets it done. I should've just come here and not wasted my time at the other salon. Oh well. I'll be coming here from now on!

Yes, I go to a salon to get my haircut. Go ahead, get it out of your system now. I'll wait…read more ... Done yet? Good. Thanks. I'm not a typical "give me a number 2 all the way around" kind guy, so I do care where I get it cut and for that matter, who cuts it. I've been going here for quite a while now. My commitment is shown in my willingness to, year after year, drive down here from Boston [North Easton, Quincy, Downtown Boston, and/or Medford, depending on the year] to get my hair snip snapped. Now that i'm temporarily local again, the distance has diminished quite a bit, but - I digress. Don't get me wrong, i've tried other places, but it never comes out as good. Hey, maybe I suck at explaining how I want my hair cut. I can live with that. My fault or not - they do good work. A lot of other places cut it too short, or cut it so straight I look like Lloyd Christmas on a good day. (Dumb & Dumber reference.) I like to come out with just a shorter version of the crazy spiked whateverness I walked in with. I can always tell they did a good job when I come home from getting a haircut and my dad looks at me, pauses, and then tells me that I should "go get a haircut." I would recommend Kiki and/or Rihanna (no, not THAT one) but anyone they hire would be a good choice. I like going to the same person because I can just go in and sit there and i don't have to explain a thing. On another note, Contours has been doing my mom's hair for years, and she does the whole 6-hour experience (cut, color, ....other hair things) and she's always happy - and trust me, if she's not happy, she would be the first one to tell you. The people are super friendly, there is always fresh coffee and some sort of food (bagels, pastries, and/or mini sandwiches) to munch on when you get there / before you leave. Not the cheapest place in the world, but in the grand scheme of things, $41 for a guy's haircut every 9 weeks isn't a big deal.

The building is a Simsbury historic, former family mansion, restored with the most elegant touches. My hair stylist is Ali. She is extremely talented ~ best highlights and cuts I remember since the hair stylist I loved during my high school years. She is super warm, friendly and comfortable to spend those 1-2 hour appointments with (the things we women go though huh). She is so good at what she does, my husband and father have gone to her for cuts and... even though they have unique head shapes and Hair characteristics, she has given them both their best cuts. No surprise my mother also joined in for her weekly wash and blowouts with complete satisfaction. I have also seen how talented she is with all types of hair including curly tresses. I follow the salons Instagram page and know from what I see, and from seeing the numerous ladies I know from around town who use Rhenium as their Beauty hub, that ALL of the stylists are at that elite level of talent and professionalism. I know they also do weddings and updos. Today I walked in and was greeted by Kathy and Sophie. Kathy is so personable, and can help you book appointments, buy gift certificates, and even help you find your way around the boutique and their new better-consignment section. I believe she helps order and run the boutique (I could be wrong and will update if needed). Sophie has a nutrition-wellness & life coaching business, and can even do tarot card readings while you get your do done. Today I picked up a wonderful crystal filled spray bottle of room spray that Sophie created that I already love! On the website look under "More of the Good Stuff" to see what Sophie offers. Both of these ladies will provide you with professional and kind service. Today I met Leslie for a facial.. what a special and caring person she is. She created such a relaxing and beautiful room to pamper her clients. The facial was so much more than a facial! I was immediately helped to relax. She took her time, massaged my head, shoulders and parts of my upper shoulders and back. I felt so taken care of and she was just lovely to chat with. I didn't realize just how much I needed this pampering and relaxation. I left feeling so happy & relaxed... from a booked facial! I'm still new to this salon so I imagine as I experience new services I can come back and update you. In addition to hair and skin care, nutritional services and life coaching, they have a masseuse and a red laser lit sauna! Do yourself a favor and check out their website and book yourself a well-deserved pampering appointment! You can book online. If you need a gift for a lady in your life, I guarantee their boutique has something you can quickly pick up that will be greatly appreciated.
