But, upon entry, I was greeted by Shanna, and she instantly engaged me in a discussion about bourbon. She proved to be knowledgeable and we chatted a bit....then she turned me on to a special varietal of Basil Hayden's. I purchased it and had to drive all the way to San Antonio before opening the bottle, which was torture. Thank you, Shanna. Your pleasant demeanor and welcomed advice made my night. My advice to those of you in the area is to patronize B&L. Neighborly service is a lost art that Shanna still practices. Spending a tad more for a bottle is worth that kind of experience.

I only know of two fried seafood places in Kingsville.. Boat n Net and Brink's Seafood.. And…read moreBrink's is by far the best in my opinion. Got the 3 shrimp 2 fish combo. It comes with a lemon slice, fries, and tartar sauce. The batter on the fried shrimp is really light and thin, and the shrimp itself are a pretty good size. The fried fish is only okay, the fish meat is very tender at least, but I much prefer the fried shrimp, the fried shrimp are so tasty! The tartar sauce that comes with what you order is amazing! You can also ask for a "red sauce" which is like a tartar sauce with horseradish in it. It's delicious and has the perfect kick to it. I absolutely love my fried shrimp with either the tartar sauce or red sauce. I tried a piece of my friend's fried frog legs and was pretty impressed! I think I will try that one next time. This place is cash only and might be hard to find immediately off the road.. So look for a big sign that says "wishing well child care".. The truck is right beside it.
