L. C. Antiques NO STARS. I HAD TO PUT ONE STAR SO MY REVIEW WOULD POST. I don't know really what to say about the current way the business is run. I can't say that I got bad service, it's just that I got LITTLE or NO service for the MONEY I DONATED to the business. I contacted L. C. around May 2018 wanting a house call to repairs my Howard Miller clock. I was told there would be a lengthy waiting period. I was aware of the long waits. Finally in July 2018, they arrived to repair the clock. After much fabrication of a piece of brass, the clock was running but way too fast. I called them and they promised to return and finally repair the clock. Before they left, I paid them $165.00, for the house call. After another long wait, they showed but again, didn't have the correct part. At this time, the clock wasn't working at all. He said he'd order parts and when they came in, they'd return to put all the right parts and promised to have my clock back in correct operation. So far, there was response from them but it had been painfully slow. Now is when their promises and customer service hit bottom. After a couple of weeks, I called and together, we set a date for them to come. The agreed on time came and went and no one showed. The next week I went down in person to the shop to ask about my clock repair. The mountain of excuses started. I can't tell how many times i went to the shop in the following weeks to personally inquire about my repair. Finally, I went down on a Friday afternoon and was told they would be at my house Saturday afternoon at 230PM. I said if you do not come please give me a call so I won't wait needlessly. He replied certainly. Saturday afternoon came and went with no service and no call!!! Monday is when most house calls are made I was told earlier so I gave them Monday. No one arrived or called. Tuesday morning I showed up at the place of business and the minute they saw me, he said oh you need a house call! Then I asked about the previous Saturday and he said oh sorry I forgot!! I wasn't very shocked at his growing mountains of excuses. He volunteered to come to my house that afternoon to complete the repair since he had all the parts. I replied no you won't for I'm done waiting on you and continually being mislead. I asked for a partial refund but was refused. He did give me a needed part so that maybe I can put it all back together myself. I hope he put my $165.00 to good use for I surely didn't. Bad bad bad customer service and actually took money he didn't fully earn. Do business with them if you must but be forewarned of the shady service I received. Good Luck read more

This shop is extremely unorganized and their customer service is terrible. I have dropped off three antique clocks for repair and I've gotten one back so far that works pretty well. I am glad that there is a local shop to work on my clocks but the fact that they are the only one in the valley is no excuse to run a business so poorly. I own a Tissot brand watch that I purchased in Switzerland about 20 years ago. There are two buttons on the watch one of which has a tendency to fall off. I had it replaced about 10 years ago from an authorized repair shop in Los Angeles. However I figured a local shop should be able to handle the lost button. I dropped off the watch in April of 2013. They told me it would be $95. Every few weeks I would call them and ask the status. Each time I was told that they would contact the repair guy and get back to me. It was always a 50/50 chance that they would. After several months and being told it was a difficult part to locate I was growing frustrated. So about 2 weeks ago I went into the shop and told them I would like to have my watch back. To my surprise and concern they could not find the watch! The owner, Ned said he would call me as soon as they found it. He called later that day and said the repair guy had it and that they had finally found a part to work and could have it for me in a few days. At this point I was pretty upset and asked what the price was going to be. Ned informed me that it would be $50. I thought OK, 6 months of waiting and they have tried to get the part and now we are at the final stages, plus the price offered was reasonable. Well today I went to pick up the watch and the lady told me it was $95. I said no, Ned the owner told me it was $50. The lady was very rude and surly as she insisted that the paperwork from April was the price no matter what was said from Ned. Ned then chimed in and told her to go ahead and charge me $50, as though he never made that offer. The lady continued with a defensive attitude as I explained that Ned had made the offer on the phone after they had lost my watch. She clarified that they had not lost the watch. Which is true in hind-sight, but at the time they were unable to find my watch when I asked for it back. Ned approached me and apologized again as the lady continued to have a repulsive attitude. I told Ned that it was unprofessional and I did not need his staff to treat me that way. She again started arguing with me, to which Ned yelled at her to be quiet. Turns out her name is Wendy, his wife. It also turns out that the watch has a new button that does not match the original. I mention this to Ned and he explains that it is difficult to find parts for my watch. I said sure but perhaps you should have replaced both so they look the same, which he was glad to do. My reply to Ned was that I think we are done doing business. As a final comment on LC Antiques and the owners, my watch shows that today is the 7th. You would think that a watch repair shop would make sure you watch was set correctly. A friend of mine had a similar experience and told me not to go to them.....wish I had listened. read more

They have a watchmaker factory-trained on Tissot, Rolex and Omega watches--and, I believe, others. They are truly excellent at repairing old clocks. I own a (full size) grandfather clock, a smaller one (dating about 1880), an 1880 octagonal alarm clock (wall mount, of course, and the alarm left non-functioning) and an octagonal chiming clock circa about 1800; a Tissot, a couple of Omegas, a Bulova chronograph...among other things I have bought from the shop. I am done buying watches and clocks for some reason, but I am very satisfied with my small collection. What he said about Ned's wife did perhaps contain a grain of truth. She is no longer employed there, and there is a new owner, James Bennett. Generally it's referred to as "624 S Riverside", incidentally. A price range isn't applicable. They sell Rolexes and Fossils. They occasionally make watches, but only as a hobby. There are clocks one can purchase in the store (the biggest grandfather clocks) that they simply won't attempt to ship (and there are other items) and which consequently are at a bargain. James shops through the entire state, as well. read more
