This is one of the smaller aquariums that I've been to, but I guess that's not a surprise given its location. The price is a bit high for the experience. Our kids loved it, so totally worth it. Most of the signage is in French, English, and Spanish. The squishy has a relationship with the Kamo Japanese aquarium, so they had a bunch of Hello Kitty themed decorations and such. More importantly, the partnership means that this aquarium has a lot of jellyfish. We visited in December, so the mermaid show was also Christmas themed. It's an excellent show that is very well-rehearsed. They don't sell any food inside, but we were able to get a stamp for re-entry, eat or snacks outside, and then continue our visit. With children, this is a good 2-3 hour visit if you are able to catch one of the shows. Without the show, 2 hours maximum unless you just really love aquariums. read more

There was lots of cool jellyfish. Admission is very pricey; 24€ for a single student. They have a mermaid show, which I caught a glimpse of.

Decided to take my son to this aquarium as he loves fish and it was part of our Paris Pass. The aquarium is smaller than most, but it was pretty cute and we were able to walk the whole thing in less than two hours. We only came because it was on the Pair Pass, otherwise wouldn't paid 80 euros for the 4 of us to see. I do love aquariums but this one very small for the price they are charging. It was raining and we needed to kill some time before our other tour was going to start so I said let's explore this since it is on the Paris Pass. After we walked a lot up hill and the signs for it were not every direct we did find it eventually soaking wet. They do have some really cool tanks with many different types of fish but major part of their tanks are filled with many jelly Fish.. The shark tank is pretty cool and one part of it you can sit on benches and watch as they swim above you, but their lighting was kinda of whacked so made it hard to get good pictures. They also had several theaters that seemed to take up lots of space that could be used for more tanks I think. We were in and out under 2 hours, we slowed our selves down to outlast the rain. They do have a small gift shop but we didn't buy anything, and never saw the snack bar which saw sign for.. Guess coming from the States we are use to larger even huge aquariums which offer many types of things to keep you there for hours but this one is good for the price we paid (free) from the pass we had got to see Paris. read more

ODD I have no idea what muse inspired the owners of the business to combine an Aquarium with a theater but it DOES NOT work. It's just strange. You walk past a few tropical fish displays then there's a couple mannequin pirates. Round the corner after a display on squid and there's some goofy, sea-themed animee movie showing. Haven't had enough? There's a black and white sailing movie playing down the hall without any sound and another circle around the shark tank and there's a 1970's quality green screen set up where your kids can pretend to be chased by a dinosaur! The reason we stayed for 2.5 hours? They have an unmanned touch tank where little ones can prod koi and carp to their heart's delight. And the coolest thing in this place? They've got a moving, shallow stream projected onto a section of floor. When you step on the floor the water shimmers as though you stepped in a real stream and any fish nearby dart away. So the kids spent 2 hours poking real fish and chasing fake ones. Great fun but not remotely worth the 64 Euros we paid to get in. read more

We wanted more of a chill day while on vacation so we opted to go to the aquarium. The tickets were very affordable on orbitz about $25 a person or so. We got there a little early and it was raining outside pretty badly and they wouldn't let us in early lol. But it was ok because we had such a nice time. We really enjoyed looking at all they had to offer especially the jelly fish and sharks. read more

We came to this aquarium mainly for Claire The Mermaid show. For my 3 year old daughter it was a dream come true. The show is amazing, but not played every day, check the schedule before you go to avoid disappointment. Claire is absolutely stunning and puts on a great spectacle. I only wish there was a photo op afterwords. The Aquarium is a decent size, not too big, not too small. There's plenty of things to do with little ones, arts and crafts, rides and other shows. At some fish tanks you are allowed to play with water and tickle fish. It puts a big smile on kids faces. There's a little cafe inside and vending machines if you want to get drinks or snacks. We had an amazing time! I recommend it on a rainy day. read more

This aquarium has a bunch of movie theaters randomly interspersed within. I don't get it, I don't like it and I generally thought that it was an unusual waste of space that I would have rather seen hosting fish. For a newer aquarium I was disappointed (compare it to Atlanta and... there is no comparison) but it was still alright. It falls somewhere in between being quite a bit better than the aquarium in Jenks Oklahoma and being not even close to as good as Atlanta Georgia. I'm sorry but I just cannot get over the stupid movie theaters inside it. Imagine you are walking past a coral wall display, and you turn a corner and you can sit down and watch an hour of a Night at the Museum (en francais). The good: - This aquarium has a decent selection of exhibits. There were a lot of crustaceans, which are often my favourite exhibits - There were only 5 other people here. I had the place almost to myself for 2 hours - There are a number of 'big viewing windows' with chairs and often tiered seating areas to watch the large tanks - The shark tunnel was OK The bad: - The jellies were all really small and there were dead ones floating in their tiny tank - The confusing movies theater thing (I can't let this go because they take up SO much space that COULD be dedicated to more aquariums) - The coral wall was big but weak In summary I wouldn't be in a rush to hit this aquarium again, I thought it was too expensive at almost 20 euros and the cinemas are stupid but I still had a good time. read more

Really good music selection with a mix of pop, edm, and rap. You just had to buy a table to enter and the tables costed €250, so pretty expensive for the average party goer. However if you get a group of 5 friends and all split the cost of the table, it can be a lot of fun! I recommend going on a Friday or Saturday night. read more

Ok I agree with other reviewers, if you are paying full price €20,50 adult €13 child this aquarium is absolutely not worth it. As a Californian the Long Beach, Monterey and and SF aquariums are miles ahead. HOWEVER, if you are an expat living in Paris with a toddler and get the discount year pass from Groupon (even full price I think it's about €50) it is absolutely worth it. My toddler and I come here about every other week and it's wonderful for a rainy day outing, especially paired with the American library nearby. The fish are not extensive but my toddler loves them, the buffet on Sundays is really great, and the regular restaurant meals are amazing quality for a tourist attraction. 4 course french meals which are tasty and filling. So if you go for the year pass this aquarium is awesome, if you're going and paying full price, skip it! read more

Of the aquariums here in Paris, this is supposedly THE aquarium to go to. Certainly the biggest of them all, this aquarium still is pretty small in comparison to what you see elsewhere. For being in the capital of France, you would expect a little more. They do have a fine collection of tropical fish with their saltwater displays being their highlight. But they only have a few small hallways of displays. I think their best attraction is really at the end where they have a koi touch tank and you are able to let the koi "suck" on your fingers and hands. Definitely something different (seen other types of touch tanks but this is new for me!) They also have a shark tank with a underwater "room" that supposedly you can win a night to stay in. Frankly though the shark display was underwhelming so I'm not so sure it would be been that great to house there. They are located on the front side of Trocadero (side facing the Seine on the right). You can't miss the entrance. There are no discounts for Paris Pass here unfortunately, although they might stand to gain by at least entertaining this in the future. They are an ok aquarium. Nothing really special stood out here. If you're looking for a place to go for fish, I suggest the Aquarium de la Port Doree. read more

After four days of shopping, eating and sightseeing in a foreign city, I sometimes like to shake it up by visiting an aquarium or natural history museum. Sometimes it pays off (like the Oceanario in Lisbon) and sometimes it doesn't (like the Cineaqua in Paris). First off, as an American tourist, it is totally not worth the 19 euro admission. Those who have experienced the California Academy of Sciences and the Monterey Bay Aquarium will be severely underwhelmed. Cineaqua's tanks and sea life are adequate, but I was expecting more sharks since there seemed to be a lot of advertising around it. I was also a little confused by the movie theaters, animated movie exhibit, and pirate exhibit. The coi pond was a big hit, but the railings are extremely low. I saw three children fall into the water and get completely soaked. Also, I wouldn't recommend going solo or without a child in tow. I was taking photos of the signage to show my graphic team at work, and I got a few suspicious stares from visitors and staff. read more

The show with Maria was pretty good; in French Donny daughter didn't really understand but I could put everything together. Place had various exhibits and takes about an hour to complete. 1.5 stars. 20€ for an adult and 13€ for a 3 year old. Really? Way over-priced. Save your money to buy a plane ticket to California and see the Monterrey aquarium. If you don't stop to watch the movies, you can get through this place in 45 minutes even with a slow child. And what kind of nonsense is the "special" Playmobile exhibit?! Snooze... Plus, peeling paint, dirty carpets, and very little inspiration in the exhibits. Oh, and it would never be a real French outing if I didn't have my wrist slapped for not following rules exactly...be sure your 3 year old doesn't get out of hand wanting to participate in activities planned for children. I don't recommend this unless you really need to get out of the rain while visiting the Eiffel Tower. You can take a nap in the movie seats in the shark exhibit. And they have changing tables. But no paper towels. And it's stroller-friendly. read more

TIME WASTERS R US!!! If you're a Londoner in Paris, your time would be better spent at a different venue. My experience: I called the organiser in charge of the Venetian Bal Night (1-Mar-14) from London to ask if there was a guestlist or special requirements for entrance to the club. He says there is none; it is free for ladies before midnight and 20 euros thereafter. I travel from London to Paris with a Hen Party of 6. I get to the venue, only to be talked down to by a rude/cocky bouncer and told that we need an invite. The same bouncer who 5 seconds later lets other groups of people in without any invites. PS: I'm French, so this was DEFINITELY NOT a language barrier issue. Thankfully the Parisian nightlife has so much more to offer. But I'll take a club night in London anyday, over an experience like this one. read more

The Cineaqua is a small aquarium with an underwhelming assortment of tanks and fish. It starts well, but putters out, and then ends abruptly. It gives the impression that there isn't enough money to maintain the place. A broken escalator is hidden by fake plants. A puppet theatre remains but is permanently closed. A touch tank is stocked with big koi and a sign explains koi are domesticated fish and invites you to "try to touch them" instead of stocking it with shoreline creatures and real touchable fish. It is also unattended! I watched Parisienne parents encouraging their kids to try to grab the koi! When I realized I'd reached the end of the aquarium, I doubled back and I sat in a theatre and watched the first 45 minutes of Spider-Man until it was close to the time Da Pietro would open for dinner service. The aquarium was quite crowded, full of parents taking their little ones on a Sunday outing, seeing nature, which is a good thing, Sadly, this is not an aquarium worthy of a major international city like Paris. read more

My son (2.5 years old) and I loved this aquarium. Don't understand the negative reviews and how overly priced they are. I thought the admission price was reasonable. I'm originally from Chicago so it didn't blow my mind away compared to the shedd aquarium. We currently live in Seattle and I'd have to say that it is by far so much better than the seattle aquarium. They have shark tanks, jellyfish wing, and a koi pond where you can touch the fish. We also had the chance to see the mermaid show which my son loved. He also loved the koi tank where kids can touch the koi. read more
