After walking a very long distance from the new town and getting fully lost in the winding streets of the old town, we just wanted a simple, light lunch with some booze. Ordered a sparkling rose, a beer, bar olives and two different tapas style appetizer samplers typical of the Puglia region. My platter had: crostini with bruschetta, mystery cheese (I never learned what this was!) that tastes like queso fresco with a pickled beet jawn on top, mini eggplant lasagna, a pizza fritta pocket, grilled cheese, meatballs, and buffalo mozzarella. BF's platter had: caprese tomato/mozzarella combo with seasoned olive oil and side of pesto, meatballs, grilled cheese and a quinoa salad. Both platters were fresh and tasty. Perfect portion for a light lunch and a true taste of the region. Perhaps a tad overpriced since it was a bit touristy here, however, I think I preferred this app sampler to that of La Uascezze and I loved that place, so it was worth it. Plus, it was a great way to kill a few hours and look out at the sea.

We travel to Puglia every year, and this time we had some business to do in Foggia, but we arrived…read morelate and the office was closed, so we set out to look for some lunch and stumbled upon this delightful hidden gem! As you walk in, you are in the ground floor wine bar-restaurant. The walls are covered with wine bottles and there are tables to sit at as well as a beautiful bar. But if you are more hungry than thirsty, then take a walk up the gorgeous blue granite stairs to the upstairs restaurant. Shortly after we sat down, the owner and chef, Nicola Russo, joined us at our table. He asked if we had any dietary restrictions and what our wine preferences were. There were no menus! He selects the freshest seasonal ingredients available and then puts together surprises! We were not disappointed! Everything was to die for scrumptious! The presentation of each plate was a work of art - for your eyes and for your stomach! Nicola is a professional sommelier and chef, so I can guarantee you won't be disappointed here! Il nostro modello di cottura degli ingredienti più utilizzato è la marinatura (sia di carne che di pesce) poiché non è dannoso per la salute e non altera i valori degli ingredienti stessi. Da degustare anche i nostri taglieri di salumi e formaggi pregiati ed altamente selezionati (come mortadella d'oca, speck d'anatra, jamon hiberico, blu di capra e di bufala, caciocavallo podolico garganico (presidio slow food). Da abbinare ai vini selezionati della nostra cantina vini (circa 80 etichette), nell'accostamento aiutati dalla nostra sommelier, oppure da un ottimo cocktail creato dal nostro alchimista al banco dell'american bar con ingredienti pregiati al costo di 5€ in su per drink.
