Although we were seated quickly, our waiter had an interpretation on us as we didn't order wine. We then had to wait over 30 minutes to just order our antipasto while many other tables were helped every few minutes. The tables that were helped quickly were dressed as they seemed to have a lot of money. Once we finally ordered, the waiter continued to have an attitude and took down my order wrong. The food itself was okay at best. I ordered gnocchi and received pasta. Another ordered raviolis which were drenched in oil. My pasta was over cooked and tasted like straight olive oil. For the price and the service I would not recommend unless you're looking to get ripped off.

It was the first restaurant we saw, and it was Italian. We thought they're closed, but we saw a lady sitting by herself, so we took a chance or fate brought us to find the Vino e Cucina, an Italian restaurant. It is a small and cozy place, impeccably decorated. The one lonely diner, was soon joined by a larger party. We were seated and served throughout the evening by the very personable owner, who obviously took great pride and seriousness with his restaurant and it's food. We started out with freshly baked bread that we topped with a spread composed of finely chopped black olives, basil, garlic and olive oil. Hubby ordered the fresh sea bass, which came with vegetables placed in rows: marinated red peppers, steamed broccoli, sliced cooked carrots, and sliced grilled Zucchini. I ordered the Tagliatelle Croststacei, which consisted of pasta, clams, shrimp and other seafood in a tasty sauce. Our dishes were delicious and we passed them back and forth so that we could taste everything. Hubby had several glasses of tasty Italian wine. For dessert, we had panna cotta with cherries and tartufo nero - a Black Truffle Gelato. Both were awesome. We walked back out into the rainy Hague night, having had a most enjoyable dinner. Vino e Cucina has set the bar very high for the remaining dinners on our tour.

All-in-all, a very enjoyable meal and I will return on my next trip to The Hague.

Aside from the beer, we had a pleasant lunch here. The pasta and paninis were good but not super creative or outstanding. Good enough for me to give this place an enthusiastic recommendation, though. Our waiter was really, really nice and helpful with recommendations. The place was really empty at lunchtime on a weekday. It's kind of dark inside with lots of candles so might be a nice place for a date at dinnertime.
