Got there and couldn't find the store. I'm sure it's been out of business already. Wish the app could be updated.

Fantastic must-visit shopping plaza in Chinatown. It felt so nostalgic for me to come back here…read morebecause it reminds me of my youth and grandparents! I used to come here often as a kid, and the feel/essence of the place has stayed the same! There's so many different shops ran by hard working and often elderly folks. There's shops that sell kitchenware, clothes, shoes, luggage, art, toys, and even a sewing business. Everything was extremely affordable and the quality of products weren't bad. Some stores look closed, but don't be fooled... this place is large and it's easy to get lost. There weren't many visitors or customers walking around. I do worry about if this place will sustain another generation. I sincerely hope it can stay alive for a long time to come Overall, this is a great shopping plaza that I recommend LA Chinatown visitors to visit.

Since it is almost Tet, there are lots of decor and li xi (lucky red letter envelopes) being sold here. You can get knock off bags like Kipling. There are lots of pajamas, ao dai (traditional Vietnamese clothing) and Chinese outfits. There are kids clothes, shoes, toys and pajamas. The workers sometimes will try to sell or advertise their stuff to you but they're not pushy about it. I came on a Monday so it was empty and easy to navigate. They had t-shirts for $10 for 3 and women's pants for $5. The bad: It can be difficult to find street parking. We got metered parking a few blocks down. The interesting: There are food vendors here too and a spooky restroom with flickering lights.

Really Great Store and Hidden Gem I shopped in years every time I visit Los Angeles…read more Staff there is very down to earth and kind. But this store has a variety of selection such as Chogokins, Gunpla, Prize Figs, Construction Kits, Etc... Prices there are very reasonable too, honestly, I prefer going to this store compared to places like Jungle or Robot4Less due to price reasons. I would absolutely recommend this store for those who are in the hobby or starting to get into a hobby.

Hidden Gem Alert!…read more Attention hobbyists and gift givers: Neo Happyland might just be your new happy place. Circumstances brought me to this unique and fun store that is practically hidden on the first floor of what appeared to be an abandoned mall in Chinatown, the Bamboo Plaza. Had I not known about this store and its location before visiting, I probably would not have entered the plaza. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by Natalie one of the store owners. I then met with Alan, her husband and co-owner. Both were super personable, friendly and knowledgeable. I overheard them conversing about some of the products with other customers in the store. They really knew their product. The store was jampacked with products from floor to ceiling. I was overwhelmed with how much there was to see. There were so many different model kits to choose from (Pokemon, Bandai, Gundam, etc.). They also had figurines, model paint, books, stickers, Gundam decals, Book Nook and Wonderland items, Pokemon Mini Building Blocks, other building blocks, DVDs and other fun items. Everything was well stocked and neatly organized. I appreciated that most of the items were displayed behind glass so that you could see the actual product vs just looking at the picture on the box. Even though I am an adult, I felt like a kid in a candy store. I did not leave empty-handed. :) If you're looking for a wonderful brick and mortar hobby shop with Asian flair, I highly recommend this shop.

My parents brought my three younger brothers and me to Chinatown Central Plaza almost every weekend…read morewhen we were young kids. Now in my older age, I don't frequent this place as much. L.A. Chinatown Firecracker 5/10K Run/Walk & Bike Ride event has been held here for the last 48 years in celebration of Lunar New Year and in support of the L.A. local communities. I participated in this event for the past 3 years starting with the 2024 Year of the Dragon. I intend to participate in this event every year from here on out. It's such a fun and festive activity for all ages. Come join us! Most of the original business shops have closed. A few of them still remain. It's not as crowded as it was back in the days. Still nice to stroll through the walkways to reminisce the good times. Some of the buildings exterior appears to be original. The colorful Chinese gateway entrance is a bit dated. Hope they restore it soon. A visit to L.A. must include a visit to this iconic plaza. May you find great restaurants and good shops. Enjoy a peaceful morning with a hot cup of coffee or tea from Thank You Coffee, a delightful egg tart from Wonder Bakery, plus a light and crispy sugar butterfly aka danzan from Phoenix Bakery, while sitting at the bench and people watching. End your afternoon with a nice walk around the plaza and its surrounding area. Don't forget to snap a beautiful selfie with our famous Bruce Lee (statue). Have a wonderful visit! P.S. Will post photos later. Thank you.

Unfortunately, there are many vacant store fronts, with still visible signs of historic restaurants, since long closed (e.g. Hop Louie). It looks like Golden Dragon Gifts shop is still operating, though closed when we came on a Sunday. There is an area filled with coin operated kiddie rides (cars, panda bears, etc)...will be back for that once appropriate.
