The kids love it and it's usually not very crowded which makes for a very pleasant way to spend a day. The tickets are a little pricey, but it includes plenty of activities including a petting zoo and corn maze. They have an indoor and an outdoor bar as well as a lunch restaurant and shop, so you really could spend the whole day!

When you initially walk onto the property there's a sight that has an arrow pointing towards the direction of the store and another arrow pointing towards the direction of the ticket booth. I didn't go to the ticket booth so I'm not sure what that area entails. This review will be restricted to the store and their pumpkin patch selection that's located out front. I really enjoyed the store. They have a bunch of treats and knick knacks available for purchase. I ended up buying 1/2 dozen of donuts. 3 were apple cider and the other 3 were their pumpkin donuts. The pumpkin ones were pretty tasty, but their Apple Cider donuts take the cake by far. So delicious! As far as the pumpkin selection out front I thought it was a little sad. I found much healthier looking pumpkins at Walmart. Overall, it's a cute place to bring your family especially during the holidays. Will definitely be back for those donuts!!

There was a great selection of cute fall decor items and giant pumpkins plus mini gourds. They also had the fullest mums I have seen all year- gorgeous!! The fall treats were delish. We indulged in the apple cider slushie and donuts. There is also a section set up with several cute photo opportunities, it was a lot of fun for a fall activity! AUTUMN INDECISION I…read morewant to like Johansen Farms, but the cynical part of me sees through their charade. To me, dunking on a small business is usually 'no bueno', but after two visits to Johansen's fall petting zoo I find myself wondering "THIS is what we paid for??" Very few things are truly free these days, and I get that, but admission to Johansen's does not fall in the realm of good value. Located along Boughton Rd in Bolingbrook, Johansen's is open during the spring/summer as a nursery and farm (April-July), during autumn as a pumpkin patch, and briefly in the winter to sell Christmas trees. On busy weekends in October, police have a lane blocked off to shepherd traffic in & out of the parking lot. On that note, parking is free, thankfully, as is walking around their pumpkin patch. I saw a review from 2017 - a mere seven years ago - that mentions admission was $13.50. It's nearly doubled since that time! $23 allows you to feed the goats, enjoy a small corn maze, hayride, a "train" (actually just a bumpy trailer pull with tiny, uncomfortable carriages), and rinky-dink mini golf. Kids have to be 42" to bounce on the myriad inflatables, however, anyone over 2yo is full price. How many 2-4 year olds have you met that are 42" tall?? Apart from Kareem Abdul Jabbar's kids, how about NONE. I'm sure Johansen's knows this, so they're screwing plenty of people with this sneaky little exploit. The pumpkin patch is nice; we found an orange specimen that was a solid 9/10, with everyone in my group agreeing it was the roundest and most picturesque gourd they'd seen in a long time. Apple cider donuts are decent and you can buy hot cider at their bake shop counter. * TL;DR * Johansen's fall festivities are cute, though you get shockingly little for the money. You'll have to pay full price for your 3-year-old, but due to height restrictions on their bouncy houses, they won't be able to go in. Adults aren't allowed on inflatables, ditto for the ponies. In fact, grown-ups will spend most of their time standing around, which I can do for free at home (or literally anywhere else). Oh, but don't despair, as you can join their fanclub for a whopping $1 off general admission! *sprays confetti* gee, thanks guys! My wife likes them because they're local, but sorry honey, I'm done-zo with Johansen's. We'll take our annual (free) picture on the hay bales, but if it's my money we're spending, next year we're making the trip to Bengtson's.

I had a very disappointing experience at Wannamaker's and will not be returning. After spending…read moreover $400 on an olive tree, soil, and planter, I discovered an infestation that began shortly after purchase. When I went back to the store for help, they were completely unhelpful and unwilling to offer a refund or even store credit. Instead, they tried to sell me a $10 bottle of soap that they admitted may or may not work. Beyond that, there was no real guidance, advice, or effort to help resolve the issue. For a specialty nursery with premium pricing, I expected far more expertise and customer care. I strongly believe in supporting small businesses over big box stores, but this place was a complete disappointment. Between the high prices and lack of support, the value just isn't there. I will be finding a new nursery in the spring and highly recommend others look elsewhere as well. If you're looking for quality plants, knowledgeable staff, reasonable prices, and customer care, Wannamaker's is not it.

My Bride and I have been to Wannamaker's over 100 times since moving to Lisle in 2015... so I have…read morea bit of a track record with them. At every interaction, we've *never* had a bad or unpleasant experience there. I read with dismay the several posts here that recount other's experiences. Not having been there with those other Commentors, I certainly can't / won't comment on what they experienced. But I do note a common denominator, folks: many of these tales include, in some way, aspects of "Caveat Emptor". Wannamaker's is a large-ish store, and from shopping there a lot, I note that many Shoppers go there as almost a "field trip" - e.g. not often, and they probably are caught-up in the joy of a store that has literally *Everything* you might want, garden-related. Thus, I posit, they overbuy, and let their Spidey senses down. Perhaps by not counting the number of shoots in a flat, or expecting (and perhaps not documenting) their plantings against a possible future Health claim. As a Disinterested Observer, the store is consistently pretty busy, with complex sales, and have NEVER been staffed to support an Investigative Staff to assist their Customers. These are, really, basic Customer Skills you need to possess (or groom!), ESPECIALLY when living under the fat greasy thumb of His Puissant Orangeness and his Clown Show administration. Trust but Verify. Consider the flip-side here, though: Wannamaker's is a Specialty Store. Sure, they command higher pricing than Wal Mart, because everyone in there is a Professional in their field. They've seen it and done it and planted it. And, regarding Product, if you want it, they probably have it, or can order it for you. I cannot recall in the past decade ever being at Wannamaker's and leaving without what I came for. To me, that justifies the pricing delta. I convey my displeasure by withholding one Star. An Educated Consumer is their Target Customer. After the Sale, it's your Documentation that counts, and - quite possibly - your attitude when seeking whatever restitution your situation demands. Again, I'm not throwing-down at the several posters here who have had negative experiences. I wasn't with you, and I don't know. I'm sorry for your poor experience. But I've never had a bad experience at Wannamaker's, and I always try to support my local brick and mortar businesses!
