The food is fairly cheap, and doesn't taste as nasty as fast food. I'm addicted to the rib and chicken sandwich. I'm usually to try any of the sandwiches if it's the special of the day. I also like eating the cold sandwiches and wraps. Yeah they're a little pricer, but they taste way more fresh than similar sandwiches at gas stations. Along with a sandwich, I get a fruit cup (watermelon, cantaloupe, or grapes usually), and a bottle of Kwikade is always refreshing (their own brand of Gatorade). The service is consistent with good communication. If a line builds up, they're fast at getting someone on another register. If you're looking for something or want something specific from the kitchen, they will make it for you. Now they have a Kwik Trip rewards program and I use it all the time! If you use it 15 times you get a free item to choose out of about six options. I go with a free chicken sandwich or burger. I always like it when I leave they say, "see you next time" because guess what it's true.

Denny's Super Valu was exactly what we were looking for. The employees were helpful in directing us to certain food, and it was a pleasant experience for us too. The store is full of charm and value - and most importantly, local foods! Of course we were looking for cheese curds and Denny's Super Valu had quite the selection. Cheddar and white - and a mix, plus others with seasonings and such... and local! We already had our smoked salmon from Havegard's and the mix of Cheddar and white looked most appealing. We saw some other cruisers looking for WI cheese curds and pointed out the great varieties. We weren't the only ones looking for local cheese goodness! No indeed, as when we were back onboard the ship we found some new friends had grown up with cheese curds and were wishing they had found Denny's Super Valu as well. Yep, we DID share our cheese curds and even some of the smoked salmon. The ship's food was fabulous, but the cheese curds and smoked salmon were worthy of a scouting trip in lovely Algoma! We always check out the baking aisle - and were so tempted at the boxed whipped frosting. You all have Jello sugar free pudding that is to be cooked - and that did come home with us. The candy aisle is also a gotta check it out, and I found a special bag of black licorice for a new friend who LOVES it - and the rewards for it were beyond belief. Most of the items in the hot foods was cleared out and there were some options in the refrigerated area near the hot foods. As I didn't have a way to heat up the food, I skipped this option. I was pleasantly surprised to find pineapple cookies that I believe are the same ones as what I've had in Thailand before and loved. I don't know if they are available at major markets near my home but being able to spend more time in the aisles of a smaller market, I spotted them and purchased a jar to try out. If Im in the area again, I would come back and see if I can try their hot foods.
