Be vigilant though, using Apple maps def got us lost. Look for the large beetle/wasp/bug and its right there. Its a combination of grungy, loud music, a bar that you don't think will be impressed BUT BAM, it is fantastic. Solid selection of beer and mixed drinks. The bartenders have a Spotify Playlist. It literally is my favorite thing in the world.

This place is a vibe. It's a no frills vermouth bar tucked in a narrow street, with a few seats inside and a couple barrels outside for standing. We ordered a couple vermouths and stood outside, absolutely thrilled to be back in a place that feels like home. Their vermouth is great too, with strong notes of cinnamon and star anise. Perfect with the briny olive and slice of orange it's served with. Hope to be a regular here someday. That's the dream.

After dinner and going in, it ended up look just like one of our favorite places in NYC, Double Down Saloon. The place is simply (excuse my French) badass bar. It feels dirty inside, in a good way .The walls are covered with pictures of rock stars and metal gods, surrounded by graffiti everywhere. You can get your simple Estrella bottle of beer, or a drink with a gimmicky name. They also have some kickass t-shirts with skulls, fire, and other macho symbolism, which is my favorite form of souvenir from a trip. Despite being in Barcelona for less than a week, my friend and I found ourselves here on two nights. If you're not in the mood for a crazy club night, this is surely a great way to spend a night at a dive and having a some beers.

This place reminded me of the Marz bar where I was a regular in NYC a lot in the 90's. The interior decor is mainly kisch and you feel like being on set on a John Waters film. They don't serve cocktails but pussytails. I know, a tourist trap but still all fun. Wifey and I wondered if this was a transvestite bar since it's decorated with pretty gay and pin up collages. You get free snacks when ordering, but we all know that salt make the average customer buy an extra unit. The staff is friendly and prices better than my hotel across the road, Barceló Raval. The place seems to have quite a few friendly regulars and we seemed to fit in immediately. But watch your valuables, a pick pocket dropped in and made a move on Wifey but was chased out by the nice bartender David.
