Specialty is buckwheat pancakes (not typical). Plus, if you're in Paris, you may as well make a whole meal out of crepes (savory and sweet). They do a set menu here- 12$ you can do a savory crepe and a dessert, and for 17$ you can do the appetizer, savory crepe, and then sweet crepe. We ordered a Scandinavian (spinach, cheese, smoked salmon), spicy sausage (heavy and a little oily for those who are health conscious), and the Ham, Brie, and Potato Omelette. Provins is known for their roses, so if you're adventurous and don't mind a sweeter punch, I recommend ordering your sweet crepe with a choice of confiture (jam), which the local specialty is rose confiture. Scandinavian- What is interesting about this crepe is that the spinach is not the typical verdant ones we see when we think of the spinach omelette. This is a wilted pre made spinach with some local oils that comes out almost a brownish color. This compliments nicely with the smoked salmon which is raw and then heated to mostly cooked, therefore not over cooked in the omelette. Finish inside with the satisfying mozzarella that is so soothing and yet the perfect glue to make a comfortable tasting omelette. Recommend this dish for pescatarians The Spicy sausage- it's actually 2 thinner oily hearty sausages in the center of your crepe. The rest of the crepe is honestly to buffer the oil and salt of these 2 packets of flavor. Order this if you're not afraid of a heavier meal/don't get car sick later/can handle an oilier dish. Don't forget, you haven't even gotten to your sweet crepe yet and you're full. Jambon, Brie, Potato Omelette- This is not for the ones who are afraid of stronger cheeses. Brie is not immediately stinky, but it is a cultured taste. Do not get this dish if you've never had a soft French cheese before (Camembert, Brie, etc). I loved brie and therefore, I thought the potato and ham were an excellent change in texture and very complimentary to make this the ultimate breakfast omelette I've ever had. I even went back home and replicated the combination, but of course no one can beat the Champagne French region in gastronomie. Sweet crepe: typical Nutella, etc but these crepes are BUCKWHEAT! This is a grainer texture than your white flour typical version you see for 2 E at the side street. This meal becomes filling fast b/c whole grains fill you. I called the rose confiture, and highly recommend for those who love to sponsor the local specialty and honestly, who has ever seen Rose Jam outside in most restaurants?? Service: Good, but be aware that they will offer you coffee, and be mildly pushy/encouraging about them. Do not be afraid to be firm if you don't want a drink. We were pushed for an apple cider. Delicious, but not really appreciated when it was 8E for a small jar of it. So be aware of it if you're not French speaking and their accents are thicker, and you are afraid to be impolite.

It's a bit cramped, but was nice to escape the cool weather outside for lunch. We had 7 people, and they managed to fit us all across two tables next to each other. I ordered the la chèvre crepe, which had a goat cheese spread, cooked ham, honey, and flaked almonds. It was delicious! The honey is very subtle, and definitely doesn't make this crepe too sweet. The meal came with a small salad as well. Some others in our group ordered the fries which were nice and crispy, and cut in an interesting shape. They were hot at first so be careful! My husband had the l'andouille crepe which he enjoyed and would recommend. We also shared a 50cl pitcher of cider which was good, but quite different from some American ciders we have had before. The waitstaff here didn't speak a lot of English, but they were very nice and did not mind that we didn't speak French. I'd recommend this as a nice spot for lunch during your visit to Provins!

I whipped out Yelp and noticed that I had Happy Caffe bookmarked. I'm not sure how it landed in my collection, but the reviews were excellent thought it would be a good option for lunch - so off we went. Happy sits right on the street - it's a super small space with barely any room inside and several tables outside on the sidewalk. They did a good job making room for us - I have to say they mastered the art of optimizing what little space they have but even still be prepared for a tight fit. The menu has a selection of baked good, crepes, and sandwiches. We asked the employee working behind the counter what they recommended and he suggested the kebab panini as he sells many of them every day. We decided to each get one, which was served promptly. The sandwich wasn't my favorite - the chicken seemed a little off, and it wasn't that tasty. I wouldn't say it was awful, but I also wouldn't order it again. Looking back, perhaps I ordered the wrong thing (despite it being recommended to me). I'm puzzled by all these 5-star reviews - maybe the crepes are better? Two stars for the friendly and attentive service, but I would bypass this spot next time I'm in Paris.
