We stayed 4 nights in Aix and visited this restaurant 3 times. It was THAT GOOD. And the entire…read morestaff of four were extremely friendly and accommodating. Our first dinner we shared foie gras (the absolute best!) and I had bouillabaisse and my friend HS grilled sea bream...everything superb! The next night we both had beef...I had a sirloin and my friend had filet. Both grilled and served perfectly. Our 3rd night was a bit challenging because it was a Saturday night and we had no reservations. We showed up at their busiest time, and realized that they could have easily turned us away. They didn't, but asked us to come back in 15 min to allow a table to finish. No problem. We were so happy to have dinner with these fine people and enjoy their delicious meal one more time. Thank you so much Valerie and Oliver, and the rest of your awesome staff. Food is always tied into trip memories, and we will always have wonderful memories of your kindness and wonderful food in your beautiful city. We definitely plan to return to beautiful Aix and visit you again.

Laurine is the chef. The outside of the restaurant is inconspicuous; in fact, we walked right past it. But you walk down a corridor, through a small courtyard, and then into the small restaurant. But it's the garden out back that is beautiful. That's where we sat. My wife had Le Provençale, a tartine (toast) with bush cheese, red fruits jam, dried figs, dried tomatoes, and parma ham (like prosciutto). Delicious! I chose the plat du jour based on the owner's recommendation. Not sure what it's called but it was a tartine with tuna tartare & passion fruit, chutney with mango, pineapple, & red pepper, slices of avocado, and orange zest with pink berries. I don't know how they do it. Amazing flavor combinations. Glad we found this place with plenty of time to go back another time or two. Highly recommend!

They ask you not to work there at certain hours (very fair) but it is set up for you to do so! Staff is all multi lingual in French and English, or at least enough to get by, and they even have an English language menu. Don't worry, the food is high quality French and the coffee is superb. You of course get the typical for France espresso, but you can also get French Press, drip, and other styles of coffee. Overall, just a pleasure to visit and enjoy
