I've been going to L.A. Tan for 13.5yrs; long before it changed hands. It used to be under a different name and different owners. My salon location was originally on Babcock in the plaza next to Melbourne High School. Once that location closed, I began going to the Palm Bay Rd salon. There was an assist Manager whom worked at both locations and worked there prior to the change of ownership and name. She was fabulous! Sadly, she was mistreated by upper management and she recently resigned. Since she left, the PB location has gone downhill significantly. There's been a revolving door of employees and it's easy to see they are not properly trained before being left to run the salon solo. They are very nice people but are easily confused and frustrated due to their lack of knowledge of the computer system. The beds are decent. The bulbs are changed in the correct time necessary. I feel the locks on the accordion doors need to be tended to as they aren't great. Also, it's a dark, cold place; and not very clean. While I have a monthly membership in which I'm grandfathered in with a great rate - I do tan at a different salon on PB Rd as well; and that's because the other tanning salon is immaculate, bright and cheery and their employees are very knowledgeable about the entire set up. read more

Jade has made a big difference at this location. From a decorating face lift to making sure the premises are always clean and in working order. Her pleasant attitude always makes visiting a pleasure. There is a nice selection of beds and services. read more

I have been going here since I moved here 2 years ago. I pay for a level 1,2,and 3. The level 3 has been down for almost a month , which I understand but not once have I been offered an iou or to go into another bed other than the 1 and 2. I was asked if I want to pay to upgrade to a level 4, 5 or 6 which I declined bc why would I pay more money when I already pay for a membership. This is disappointing bc I really enjoy coming here but I feel this is unfair seeing as how I'm not getting what I pay for and am not being compensated either. ​ read more

I am getting married later in the year and wanted to start tanning before my big day. I was nervous but Shyann was knowledgeable and helped me to feel at ease. I tan once a week now and have already noticed a difference in my base color based on her recommendations. I am excited for the summer to keep working on my tan in and out of the salon! read more

I am a new customer and purchased a package from another location. I was in the area of Melbourne today And tried this location. Andrea was so polite and helpful. She showed me around to make me feel more comfortable and helped me chose the right bed for me. I come to this area quite often- so I will be back! The place was really clean and neat also- which is very inviting and honestly it's a lot cleaner then the other one I go to. I moved here from Fort Lauderdale about 3-4 months ago and as soon as I moved to the area I started tanning at another place, the bulbs and beds were outdated so I looked for another place and THANK GOD I DID. I came to LA TAN!! This place is absolutely amazing the beds are current and super clean! I have my tan back and I couldn't be happier. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful it just has an awesome vibe about it. I signed up for the monthly package which is very convenient as I tan 2-3xs a week, Reasonably priced.. terrible hygiene in rooms that hasn't been fixed. the water from the bathroom leaks into one of the beds rooms. also unprofessional service. Also, the manager of the locations is extremely rude and unhelpful. read more

The tanning is wonderful there. The only problem I have is I canceled my contract a year ago and they are still taking money from my bank account! I am so disappointed with them. I don't know what to do! I have been by there twice, emailed several times and call them too. But they will not stop. I guess I'm going to have to get an attorney to make them stop. read more

I truly do not much good things to say about the Palm Bay La Tan. If you want to use the stand up bed.....good luck as it will turnoff because the acrylic panel has moved "out of place". The Regional Manager does nothing to maintain her salon. One of the upgrade beds has been down for weeks while the reason it's down sits in a box......hmmm read more

I liked it except needs more than one option for a stand up, especially one with all bronzer lights. With that said, The standup booth that I did use was filthy and the inside with the lightbulbs were. I am very dissatisfied with the lack of customer service from the manager and up. Because I am currently getting laser hair removal treatments I can not tan for 2 weeks before or after any treatment. I went into the salon to ask how I go about canceling my monthly membership and I was told to wait one more month or else I would be charged a termination fee. I was also told to make sure that I came in before the 15th of that next month in order to be sure that I would not be charged for another month. I went on on the 14th and two girls were working (I believe they were new) and they said they thought that I had to come in before the 10th. I explained that another employee told me the 15th and they then attempted to call the manager multiple times. They mentioned that the manager was getting a lot of calls because everyone was new and she was fed up with it. Awkward...but ok. After multiple calls and texts to her went unanswered they called the District Manager. They spoke to her for a few minutes and then ended the call to relay the conversation to me. I was told that the DM would attempt to stop the charge from going through but if it did go through to call the salon and they would refund me. A week later I checked my account and saw the charge so I called the salon. The manager answered and as I was trying to explain everything she kept cutting me off. When I mentioned how her employees tried to call her she replied "I get a lot of calls from here and I can't answer my phone all of the time, I have things outside of the salon!". Ummm... thanks for the update on your life but I don't care that you didn't answer I was just TRYING to let you know that your employees tried to follow the chain on command. Anyway, she insisted that I was wrong and that I could only get a credit and not a refund. I told her that was not acceptable as I was not told I would get a credit. She said she would call her DM and I could call back the next day to see what she said. Another fine example of customer service. Why would I have to call back? I asked her to have the DM call me. Of course she never did. No one did. I contacted corporate customer service and they would never answer the phone so I emailed them. I received an email back apologizing for my experience but they suggested that I read the contract that I signed which they kindly attached for me. That was it. They did not offer to have anyone call me. They didn't offer to look into it. Nothing. I did not read the contract to see how to cancel. I went into the salon and asked an employee expecting correct information. Regardless the DM said she would refund me. The $80 is not worth my time but I can assure you that when I resume tanning it will not be here. read more
