This company was chosen by our mortgage company. After the appraisal the mortgage broker called to…read moreask what happened? $30,000 under market value. The guy was here 15 minutes, took and few pictures and left. The guest house behind our house is not even listed in the appraisal. The comps used on Eddins Road in no way compare to our house. It looks like where grandma lived after the depression. It's hard to imagine how they stay in business with obviously no knowledge of home values or construction costs. No mention of hardwood (real wood) floors, high end appliance, granite, spa quality master bathroom or guest house with bedroom, living room, kitchen with appliances and bathroom. Luckily it didn't change anything for us since we and the mortgage company are smart enough to know what these things cost. If you have a choice, don't use these clowns!

Overpriced..$150. more than anyone else, missed half the things on our property. Used comps that were no where near what we had, and appraised it so low the finance company couldn't even do the refi! They were as confused as we were! Considering I had the same property appraised, not even a month earlier for selling, this guy was still $48,000 less than that appraisal. I think if they took the time to actually do their job correctly, and not get it done in less than 24 hours, this review probably would've gone the other way. I will never use this company, and I will be sure to spread the word to all my realtor friends and surveyors, that this is not the company to go with. Very disappointed and what a waste of money! Before you buy in this neighborhood, research all the reviews and complaints on the Better Business…read moreBureau and check out how many homes are for sale in the neighborhood. The Homeowners are all miserable within the first 3 months. This company is only in the business of cheap selling homes, NOT for selling GOOD homes. Stone Martin is the slumlord of home builders. They contract the cheapest, bottom-of-the-bin subcontractors (therefore causing notorious MAJOR issues in roofing, plumbing, foundations and framing), they install discounted and faulty appliances, their sale tactics are completely dishonest, the community is held under a dictatorship of an unprofessional HOA and you have no ability to appeal any of their citations (even if you provide photographic evidence the complaints are unsubstantiated), the "warranty" is an absolute joke because their people will outright accuse YOU of causing the issues that were obviously the fault of Stone Martin, they keep their community filthy from their construction (Homeowners vehicles are constantly damaged) but demand the homeowners keep their homes pristine and utilize the HOA to harass them. DO NOT waste your money with this company. There's a reason their homes are cheaper than others.

When we looked for a home here the company was the friendliest I'd ever seen. When I came out for…read morethe "blue tape walk around" they bragged about having such a great view of a very large farm area, lake, cows in the distance, quiet etc etc. Two months after moving in we saw that land being razed, they had plans the whole time for hundreds more houses. Upstairs toilet had issues from first day, finally they replaced it. Kitchen cabinet front was coming off by August, they sent contractors to fix it, it's loose again. HVAC pan was apparently installed crooked so we had two separate occasions where water leaked from a vent in ceiling, called a different company and they said that our system was meant for commercial use, too big and complicated for a residence. Never tell us anything. HOA and Stone Martin are pretty much the same. They say "no rubber mulch" but wood mulch has attracted so many bugs to these houses it's terrible. Their reply is "get a different exterminator." I wanted some flat stones in front shrub area because they don't use gutters or even offer them, causing an area in front garden to erode last spring from rain. Not allowed. Lots of us want small palm trees, not giant things, just 6' to 10' tropical trees/plants to look nice. Not allowed. Why? No reason given. A neighbor said they fly drones over back yards to see what you're doing with your own land. Rumor has it they're building another road to cut through to newer area, people who live next to where it will go weren't told. Power outages are fairly common, with many houses here having circuits flipped, from surges apparently. We don't even get to have annual meetings with them because "there are less than minimum number of houses." We like the area, neighbors are overall very nice, but the company will tell you anything to get you to sign the papers. Once you've moved in, their smiles disappear.

Was a subcontracted paint company for Robert Dryden. After a lot of work he has refused to pay us…read morefor all the work completed even though him, the owner of the home and foreman was extremely happy with our work. He still owes us $12,000 and tonight has only paid us $1500 of that. Previous subcontractors that have painted for him or done work for him we ran into in the midst of us doing the job and all complained that he didn't pay them and doesn't pay at the end and now we found out that this is completely true, he is dishonest. He is saying we don't want to complete the work (lie) and that his guys are going have to complete the work 2 to 3 days (lie) which is a bald face lie because all of the paint work is completed. We are a paint company. We're not a trim company. We are not a flooring company. We're not a sheet rock company and he wants us to do everybody else's job other than our paint work. Our paint work was completely finished. We did extensive amounts of staining on a fireplace mantle a cabinet out back all the stair treads and handrails rails in a 5000 square-foot home. The beams had to be re-sanded after they were stained too dark by the previous company that just walked off the job and it has been a complete nightmare working for this guy. Work was added on through the process of us painting for him, and we had to stain a bunkbed in a bonus room. We had to repair and patch sheet rock in over 19 places. We had to re-finish and paint trim that they added in the master bath, there were numerous marks and everything else that we had to constantly keep going behind other subcontractors that were coming in. I ask him upfront what the job pays. The only response I got was I pay my crews well and that is a bald face lie multiple times he said he was gonna sit down and go over the work with us so we could see where everything was. He never did that. He was gonna meet us at the job site to go over things he never did that. It's just been one lie after another. I explained to him from the start that our crews got paid every week and he said that that's not a problem. He doesn't have a problem getting money to the crews and he waited right before Christmas and left town knowing that we needed to be paid that Friday and Didn't pay my crew then blames me and says he needs to know a day in advance , I told you twice the previous two weeks we got paid each Friday. This man is so dishonest and racist he is abusive towards other races. He made a remark about our estimates for the job that it would be better off, running with the drug cartel in Mexico, knowing that my husband is Mexican, he is rude and blows up on other contractors and he thinks that a person is not going to get upset or frustrated or argumentative when I couldnt even get pay for my crew we did not even get paid as a subcontracted company we worked to not fully pay the crew no money ourselves as owners. DO NOT I REPEAT BEWARE DONT HAVE HIM BUILD YOUR HOME AND DO NOT WORK FOR HIM!!! BEWARE!!!!!
