Needed some food just off the highway so popped in here not knowing what to expect. It was a charming local diner and restaurant that suited my needs just fine. On the left side there is more of a diner style seating area and on the right was your typical traditional restaurant. I sat in the diner area against the window in one of the mini booths.
The menu was a very generous offering of breakfast, sandwiches, salads, pizza, chicken, pastas, steak, subs, hamburgers and of course poutine.
I chose to go with their special of the month a smoked meat sandwich. It wasn't the best smoked meat I've had but it did the job. Alongside my sandwich came with fries, pickle and a small coleslaw. It wasn't a huge serving but just perfect to fill my empty tummy and get back on the road. The menu offering looked promising and pricing was decent.
They didn't give me the typical stare down (you feel at times) when entering a small town restaurant which was nice. It doesn't bother me when it happens, I just find it comical when you clearly get the vibes of people giving you the glaring stare "who is this person and why is he here"?
Overall I'd come back as the menu had promise for some good choices. read more
